Unlock Code "Not Found" - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear friend it is seems to me that I am in big trouble.
I bought a locked at&t motorola atrix 4g from ebay,
I have tried several services on ebay and nothing. All say code not found.
I called the AT&T, one of their employers check the imei and say to me that there is no code for this IMEI.
Please what can I do??
PS"
I dont live in USA!

Double check your code. Code is case sensitive and some 0 could be O. It happened to me the first time. 1 could be I etc.
Maybe the phone was previously unlocked then it was restored using sbf.

This happened with my ebay Atrix. From my understanding, Ebay unlockers for the most part access the same servers as AT&T and weren't any luck for me. You need to go through a slightly more expensive online unlocker service that can go through Motorola's servers.
I can't remember which specific service I used (cell unlocker?) but there are several sites. I went through one that had to escalate my case and got back to me the next day with the code; while that was pending, I went through another service and was unlocked within the hour.

Thank you all guys. After 6 negative replies, cellunlocker found my code. They done it for 7.5 dollars which was slightly more expensive but was a big relief. They said that have searched in e second database because in the first did not find anything. I feel lucky because the option to search in Motorola database was even more expensive.

[Q] Can you sim unlock the Atrix yourself?

I know that people have been going with cellunlock . net for their unlock codes but was wondering if you can unlock it yourself somehow. I unlocked the Samsung Captivate myself as the unlock code was hidden on the phone. Just basically wondering if I can save myself $20 somehow if that was possible. Thanks in advanced.

nope it isn't possible like that. but on the bright side. Once it is unlocked it is permanent so even if you flash an .SBF or anything it won't relock
What racecarbmw said, each code is dependent of imei so its device specific

The method used to unlock Atrix is called "remote unlocking" via IEME if you wanna google and read about it.
Thanks
Is there really no software that can generate the code based on your IMEI?

I know you could for the old nokias etc. We can do everything else, how does this code hold us back when you guys are unlocking bootloaders etc.
Atrix unlock available from ATT Aug 22nd 2011
I am moving to China and plan to use my Atrix there. I JUST got off the phone with ATT and they told me that they can give me my unlock code (because I am moving out of the country) BUT not until, on or after the 22nd of Aug 2011. Lucky for me that is right when I am going to China. So, if any of you "plan a trip out of the country" then you can get your unlock code from ATT for free.

Have u got the SIM unlock code yet? what question does att ask? e.g. mobile phone number? I got it from a small shop in hong kong but I do not have ATT mobile phone number...
Just called At&t and they gave me an unlock code for my Atrix over the phone.
It worked first time. They mentioned that 5 unsuccessful trys would sim lock the phone
permanently.

lol i called att and they wouldnt give it to me, but seriously i only payed 3 dollars to a guy on ebay and had it unlocked first try. dont pay 20, the 3 dollar guys are just as good. just check their feedback first
Well that sucks that we cannot unlock this ourselves. I mean you can Unlock an iPhone without the need to call I even unlocked a Few HTC Android devices as well, and good point we can unlock the bootloader but can't unlock the code... Maybe just not enough interest shrug.
Not trying to plug anyone or anything but I just unlocked my "Bell Canada" Atrix.
I used cellunlock.net The code cost 40$ but I used the promo code for 50% "android50" or something (Google it) also they were having a 50% off sale so I got it for only 10$.
The good:
It worked!
They did not over charge me (10$ USD)
The bad:
It took them almost a week to get back to me with the code, I thought they may have scammed me but they did finally email me with the code 6 days later.
They mailed me 2 codes ####### or ######## I used the first one but why 2 codes???
Hope it helps!!

SIM Unlocking

I have a Rogers XT910 and my usual unlocker (cellunlock.net) gave me a code that doesn't work. I sent them an email and waiting on the reply, but I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of an inexpensive and reliable source for the codes. I wish there was a Samsung-style unlocking method!
Wait and see what cellunlock says. I bought the same Rogers RAZR and got my code from them. Worked on the first try too.
Did you get a reply. I placed an order with them yesterday to unlock my XT910 and I have had no reply. I've sent e-mail, called them... Live chat is down...
I got a reply stating they would try a different server or something to that affect. But nothing since yesterday. Tried an ebay seller, got a refund. Tried Cellunlocker and they said I entered the wrong lock code too many times! (I'm not a noob, lol I have had 5 phones this year alone ). thankfully I emailed them first before I bought another code.
Its not a stinking iFail. All I want to do is moto cast (and webtop eventually) on my Bell line with the old unlimited data plan!
Finally got my unlock code last night. Took a little while but at least it worked right out of the box. Got a little scared that my data wasn't working, but I just had to manually configure the APN.

Carrier Unlocking The Galaxy Note SGH-i717

HI, I just wanting to throw something out there...I was looking at some different sites about unlocking the galaxy note...and I was also checking the reviews for the sites too(can never be too careful).. and I ended up picking cellunlock.net and going with that one...the unlock was 39.99 but after using the promo code I searched in google (android50) it brought it to 19.99..well while I was waitng on the unlock email I stuck my sim card from tmobile usa in there and come to find out it was already unlocked...well I still got a unlock code in my email about 12 hours later but never tried it cuz there was no reason too...well since then I got a new note ( a white one).. and it was not already unlocked...believe I checked haha...but I checked reviews again and there were several saying that the never got a code..and several saying that the codes they sent were fake...but I really needed the note unlocked and at&T wasn't helping..so I went for it anyway...I got the unlock code in my email about 28 hours later and I tried it and it luckily worked!...now that was about 4 hours out of the time frame that they gave me...but it worked...so I just thought Idf let people know my experience...but try at your own risk!
at&t has been giving out the unlock codes for free.
I dunno if the sale is still on, but I got my code from unlockthatphone.com for about $14.
I talked to AT&T international care on the website and they gave me the unlock code in 2 minutes without a problem

yeah that's where I almost always get them from...but this one they wouldn't give me...something about people abusing the right to get the codes or something like that..but hey..what the heck..i don't mind paying 20 for an unlock code
I called 611 from my cell today and asked for the unlock code and they gave it to no questions asked... well other than my imei and if I had any other questions.

You weren't kidding. Called and said I wanted to use the phone overseas and gave them the imei number and a minute later she had the unlock code for me. Nice!!
Same for me - I got the unlock code straightaway on a web chat with AT&T. The site says something about a limit on the number of unlocks one can obtain on an account, I think it was something like 5 per year.
I don't see why they would give you a hard time unless you're unlocking a bunch of phones on your account.
Same for me, I used the AT&T International Support web chat and they gave me the code right away. Too bad you need a non-AT&T SIM to actually use it.

That is the point of unlocking a phone -- to use another carrier's sim card. Otherwise, why unlock?

For me? Higher resale value. All other phones I've unlocked didn't require a SIM at all to do this.

[Q] Unlocking T-Mobile HTC One

Today i've recieved a T-Mobile HTC One phone bought from US. I live in israel./
Got few questions, any answer be greatly appreciated.
1. I've made inquiry to T-Mobile, and they told me once i give them info about the phone they'll unlock it for me either in 48 hours or more if IMEI isn't in their databse yet. I've yet to give them that info because i fear the phone might be stolen. I've recieved it from my brother and i et the impression it was bought from the company itself but ..his unavailable to inquire for few days.
Any way to confirm legality of the phone? All i can see is T-Mobile app installed on HTC, and two messeges, one saying "Welcome ...etc...etc.." and other that the sim has been activiated.
2. If i do give them IMEI can they block me permamently and thus no matter where i et the code the HTC is blocked?
3. Any proven third-party sellers who could unlock me the phone?
I'd rather go for legal way if possible, and i know the phone costed about 700dollar so i assume its real price, but you guys let me know what's the best way to approach it.
If you don't mind spending just $3.50, use the link I'm posting below. I used it last night on my T-Mobile HTC One and got an unlock code in ten minutes.

Says IMEI doesn't exist. But in another website it says it does.
Any other trusty websites?

Try myhtcunlock.com. Same to me before i try many web the said because my HTC One T-Mobile is new that why they don't have the code try again after 1-2 months, i give a last try go to myhtcunlock.com and they sent me the unlock code work perfectly at the first time, but i have to wait 6-12hrs to receive the code and cost me $35.00 but i am ok with it as long as the they have the code and it worked. I don't know about your IMEI but give it try.

FYI: Ascend XT discounted to $40 at many Walmarts and even $19 at some too

Use the following link if you are interested in picking up this really nice device at an incredible price. Its the AT&T GoPhone version. Its now available for $19 at some locations too.

One just down the street shows 4. I may go get one to have a virgin (and a back up)
Thank you very much for the heads up!

Picked up one yesterday but seems like unlock could be a problem. AT&T got intelligent now they are not unlocking phones which has not been used for 6 months of prepaid service!

Not too worried about that part myself, since I use GoPhone... but I understand that.
Just wish we were the customer and not the merchandise being sold on most of these types of phones...

Ya i was unable to get carrier level unlocking. I tried on both of my devices and AT&T stated they needed to be active for 6 months. But I use AT&T MVNO service so its a non issue for myself anyway

Note for clarity: carrier level unlocking does NOT affect rooting the phone (other than making it a pita to update).

Just wanted to note here that its been discounted to $19 at some Walmart locations which should trickle down to all of them if they continue to be in stock at a location. Keep checking the link I provided daily. I just got 2 more today at $19 as backup phones
I used DC Unlocker to get NCK code to unlock when putting a Sim in. The instructions were a little confusing for me but all you need is the NCK code.
From slickdeals:
This phone can be unlocked for $5 via dc-unlocker. This is a true unlock as the software actually reads the unlock code from the phone itself (which is pretty impressive).
If anyone wants to try this go https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy and make a account, deposit 4 euros = 4 credits. Download Hisuit on your pc which will download all the drivers. Plug in your phone, on your phone in the dialer type *#*#2846579#*#* and go into Background settings/USB port settings and switch it to Manufacture Mode.
Back on the computer, Download the DC-Unlocker and open it and set it to "Huawei Phones". Click auto detect and it will show your phone information. Login to your account and click "Read Unlock codes". It will display all the unlock codes for your device instantly(it reads them off your device). The NCK is the network unlock code you are looking for.
**Follow instructions here:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei-id-unlock
I will read through the threads here for rooting and roms. I would like to get rid of the AT&T bloatware.
