THX

The 69 firmware was released in Germany and just for Germany. It is the same like the 62 firmware. The only thing is that the 66 baseband works great for me coz im in Germany. Thanks for Uploading.

Zergrush and superoneclick didn't work, so no. But if you have a locked bootloader you can downgrade to 62 and root this than update with pc companion to 69, should be working. Not update OTA coz you lost root.

Yes I too believe .62 firmware is unrootable via zerg / superoneclick OR doomkernel OR flashtool..
The only way I READ that .62 possible to root is by flashing an older stock kernel... which I tried, and failed to even flash the kernel itself (I read that it's possible to flash stock older kernel to locked bootloaders)
Perhaps I am doing it wrong if it IS possible. Let me know too.

Using this at moment , after test so much Roms go back to stock is better for me,
Used this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639
to boot in CWM Recovery,
and the rootxperia from here to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639&highlight=rootxperia+zip
with this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373489&highlight=stock

Fw62 can be root by flashing doomkernel or lupusgb kernel, of course u need to unlock bootloader first...

[Q] Xperia neo cant root or unroot

hi,
i have xperia neo and i rooted it before using DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su
i updated software using pc companion to 4.0.2.A.62 i lost root but superuser was still installed
i tried to unroot it and root again but no luck superuser.apk is read only and all rooting methods don't work for me
please help i tried everything even factory reset but the superuser is still there and i can't remove it to root again
P.S: is there any way without needing to flash rom ?
Build .62 is currently unrootable so when you updated the firmware it probably broke it. I think the only way to fix it is to flash the rom.

yea you are right..
you must downgrade to .42 for root option..
Thanks guys for the reply.
the problem was solved after i downgraded to .42 and then used FlashTool to root the device if someone had the same problem and wanted to solve it
unfortunately the firmware i downloaded from the form is international version and doesn't have the Arabic language user interface, i will just have to live with it
.62 is rootable, using recovery. You need to flash RootXperia.zip with recovery for locked bootloaders.
Cheers.

Ita not required root man, just usb debugging on and unknown sources on.

I've tried that and it doesn't work.
When you try to install CWM it says that you need allow root access on the screen, but nothing will happen since you don't have root yet.
I had to downgrade.

How to root stock xperia mini with .62?? HELP PLEASE

I lost my root when i upgraded to .62.. How to I root it now?? theres this thread but I dont know how to use it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613
The easiest way is downgrade to 0.42 with wotanserver, root your phone with doomlords method, and then update OTA (over the air) that is to update directly from your phone not using your pc.Also there is this method.
if you are on stock rom .62 and have unlocked bootloader
the best way is flashing a custom kernel, like bbooff kernel.
This is stock kernel .62 only added CWM and root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161
next way is flash back stock rom .42 via flashtool and stock rom (you have to download it)
or use www.WotanServer.com ( it is free for SE Users ) flash back to .42 or .58 then root and then try update from your handy to .62 use update center and option update over wlan
------------
i used flashtool and stockrom .42. rooted with superoneclick and then updated via update center ( using wlan) to .62. and root was still there
and now i´m using bbooff kernel, because CWM is installed in kernel and not in system (rom) partition and it works with stock rom or hybrom, not tested any other custom roms right now.

hey thanks but ive flashed my firmware to a custom one

How can I root mini with ICS?

Ok this is my question.
If you update to ICS 4.0.4 and want root it seems like you need to flash the kernel from 4.0.3 to be able to root according to some guides I checked our.
But how should we that use mini/mini pro that will get the update directly from Gb 2.3.4 to ICS 4.0.4 be able to root since we don't have any kernel from 4.0.3 to use?
Or can we root anyway?
Just wanted to check all this before the update arrives because if I can't root I will stay on Gb until root is possible.
Sorry if it's a noob question

Other Way to root is to downgrade to gingerbread [Android 2.3] build number .42 or .58 using flashtools and the root it using any method and then using local.prop method and then flash ICS rom and root it..

If you have unlocked boot loader you can try to flash the rootable kernel of Neo V 4.0.3 and test. It might just work. The phone will not boot. That's for sure. But it might just be able to allow to be pushed with the su and superuser files.
You can experiment if you want. Or, as my friend pointed up stairs you can check my tutorial and root it by android emulator hack.
Thanks,
Rick.

In my case, doing that gives me a failure OTA update thats why I'm forced to reflash .42
Doing OTA directly over .62 gave me a failure too. Here's what I did- flashed stock .42, root (and updated the SU app and binary and ticked 'OTA Survival', updated to .84 via OTA.. Success. Feels li'l bit snappier and ya battery stays up good. But maybe it's jst a placebo cuz GB has always hav been snappy n fast on my mini.

I meant to say, after flashing the .42 ftf and then rooting, I updated the 'Superuser' app from Play Store, because the version that is pushed through is old..and dsn't show the 'OTA Survival' checkbox.
But I think that is not necessary. You can just flash the .42, then root and then do OTA and update to .84.

Ok, got it. I didn't know that the Superuser app could be updated from the Play Store. I currently have a version of the app that has the "ota survival" checkbox.

So you did a direct OTA update from .42 to .84? Without passing through the .58 fw?

If you are on .58 I would download the scripts from "how to root .431" (local-prop and push-root-files). On .58 root, run local-prop, do the update over the air, on .84 run push-root-files. Should work
