(Guide/MOD) BOOT ANIMATION IN FRAMEWORK-RES {space saver} - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Do u make custom roms with your own special touch or make slim roms
Basically i port some roms to Xperia Range
and always like the uploads to be under 100 meg
this means some things must go .boot animation first
so then you are left with Google android logo animation

So i thought im going to try theme these pngs ,see what happens!

HOW 2
yes i know there is apps on market for this ---but that would be to easy lol
but here is the basics
unzip your framework-res.apk
u now will see a folder called assets
inside there u have images folder
in there is your 2 pngs to replace
there named
android-logo-shine.png this is your background png
android-logo-mask.png this is your front png
You want to remake them how u like or try the ones i posted

now zip back up your framework-res but it will now be framework-res.zip push this to phone and rename .apk,
give correct permissions

baring in mind when editing !
that shine png moves from left to right
and that mask does not move
this is totally useless to most people as they prob never change boot-animation
i hope some of yous see the potential in it
i think rom cookers n porters n slim rom makers is where im directing this not at general users
but hey they might like it to i have seen some great artists here

find out your screen size for your parameters
for this i was used a Xperia Neo
so screen size was 5oo wide 900 tall ruffly
this will work on any rom stock or custom
have fun please only try if understood

very useful tutorial bro...one thing i wanna ask...i often modify pngs in drawable hdpi folder and then repack it as zip and then rename it as .apk.
it works perfect when given correct permissions...but is the new repacked apk zipaligned? do they need to be zipaligned? bcoz i do all modifications and packing- repacking on root explorer.

how to increase size of android-logo-mask.png
when i replace it with a static image of larger size , my nexus 7 boot up without any logo, i believe there should be a way how to increase the pixels of the android-logo-mask.png from cmds/bootanimation/BootAnimation.cpp, please let me know
