Yes! It is possible to update any device after rooting via PCC OR SEUS.. Only if you haven't unlocked it's bootloader!
Now that you have root access, instead of factory reset you can remove all the bloatware from the device!
Install CWM and flash the zip file from the following link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672312
This will remove all the unwanted apps and bloatware from your device!

Of course yes it is possible to reset your device after rooting!
And to clear dalvik cache, you first need to install CWM that is Clockward Mod Recovery..
When installed, while your phone boots press the back button or repeatedly press the volume down button.. Go to advanced option and then wipe dalvik cache..

There is a very less chance of a boot loop in this case!
But we always have to be prepared for the worst.. So before doing anything with the CWM, take a backup of your device via CWM only!
Backup and Restore.. and then backup!

I am afraid there isn't any other method..
Since you have a locked bootloader in your device, you would have to root it by flashing the .562 kernel!

Hi mate.
Did you flash the boot.img first and then the rom?
No offence but your description of how the error occurred needs a bit more information. Give us more details over what you have done and in what steps, and then I'm sure we can help you.

First time I flashed my phone it didnt work proper.
So I flashed the boot.img again and then updated with the update.zip (after resetting everything ) in the phone a second time and then it worked.

Also please read the forum rules before post next time, specially #3. Thanks

What kernel you using has to be custom not stock
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
I tried your case many time...try just wipe data/factory reset
Find me at Gtalk

Sorry for my bad English...
Just download compatible night elf or other kernel. Flash it in fastboot and reboot.
There is nothing wrong with ROM no need to keep wiping it.
I'm not sure which kernel my neo is having as i have tried various things in last one month. How do i find it out (Sorry i'm a beginner here)

Generally it is in about phone in settings but as you are not able to load up any ROM i suggest just flash one to make sure you are on right kernel.

hi ankurvij,
by which method you root your neo v if it is DoomLoRD's toolkit then it roots your phone with locked bootloader
to my knowledge Team Xperia SE.TWEAKED V1 is for unlocked bootloader only correct me if i'm wrong
you won't install custom ROM but can install Stock ROM
i've tried the same thing after rooting DoomLoRD's toolkit same error as yours
now on stock firmware from emannxperia with some tweaks

I had similar problems when I put a rom with an inappropriate kernel. But for this you must have the bootloader open
Yes, i used DoomLoRD's toolkit .. i will give a try to ICS Now

I don't understand where is the problem, you are now on ICS, you can't just flash some .62 zip via CWM. By doing that you will only(most likely) replace system partition, other stuff like kernel, baseband, data will be left from ICS.
ThilinaC told you to do a full flash first. Meaning, first flash some GB ftf, then root, then CWM, and then you can flash that zip in CWM.

hm, my advise:
flash .42 ftf, root, CWM, flash that zip you linked, and then flash stock .62 kernel(you can flash stock even on locked BL, of course if you don't have SIM-lock, meaning if your fastboot is enabled)
or you can check this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468866
and get .62 via OTA update, after flashing .42.
