Hello,
I've got CM10 nightly (20120827) and what about if I flash a more recent version of CM10 or CM9 through recouvert ? Will I loose my applications data ans my playlists ans all others data (SMS...) ?
And if I do a full wipe too ? (Should I do a full wipe ?)
PS : I'm not root (yeah that's odd but that's a bug)
Thanks
I have the I9100 and when updating from one nightly to another no wipes are required. However moving from CM10 to CM9 is a different firmware altogether and so I would suggest full wipes and format system before installing CM9. Please read the instructions in the thread for your phone model before proceeding.

When we reboot into cwm recovery to install our selected roms, do i need to wipe the data and cache AFTER or BEFORE i install the roms / gapps that i want to? Need help here !
- One more, those who are experience like me when i installed (cm10 port by Psyke) noticed that music app does scan SD card, but then no songs are shown when the app launches, thus leaving it to be blank / left only symbols at on top of the screen . Is really music doesnt work yet for the beta release? thanks for any response

If it's the next version of the current Rom you have, then wiping /data and /cache partitions is not nessesary. If it is an entirely different Rom then you should do a wipe as the phone won't boot properly.
As for your second query, a temporary solution is to use a different media played. I had the same problem with the initial cm10 builds for the galaxy s3.

Wiping /data and /cache doesn't wipe your sdcard content. It only wipes your installed apps and its data.
Doing a wipe before and after doesn't matter. But generally we do it after flashing a ROM.

You can restore the backup with out data wiping since cwm recovery wipes /data and /cache before restoring a backup.

No. Just flash over Omega 33.2.
You can download your paid apps from the play store, they will already show as purchased, be sure to backup the data of the games you have been playing otherwise you will have to start the games from the beginning.
No need to wipe, all apps will still be there, you will need to refreeze apps

Thanks ! Does the new 33.3 will work without lag even tho i dont wipe anything or format anything ?
Yes it will work fine even if you don't do wipes, its just an update.

Wipe data, cache and dalvik, then reflash the rom. Just batch install apps from the playstore.

All ready done... all ways the same... the only thinks, obviously, mine opinion, it's don't use anymore that app... when I do a super wipe or wherever and reflash the rom turns back all like a new phone of course.. but at the moment I install the app (Ultimate backup pro) from " "blackmarket" and try to restore backups apps+datas the bug appears once again... ecc.. so I think to don't use it anymore... unfortunately I loss all my datas apps and games.. but I just wanna still updating the rom.. looking for a another app to restore app's with data but for free... don't wont use titanium I don't know if with this too happen the same.. just I tired to reinstall all again and again...

Hello,
First off, I see there is another thread for a similar problem for a different device but unfortunately I was unable to find a solution to my question there, so I am asking here.
When rooting/installing CM10.1 on my tab about a month ago, I installed the Gapps froom goo.im, and for the most part everything works except for Google Now. I lived with it for a while but today, when rooting/flashing CM 10.1 on my brothers tab, I found that there is a gapps version (wingray) that has Google Now working. So I installed that version on my brothers tab, and google now seems to be working fine. So now I would like to get the wingray Gapps on my galaxy tab.
To do this do I have to wipe my tablet and do the whole flashing process again with the wingray version? Or can I just flash the wingray version over the goo.im version?
I just want to make sure so that I don't do anything stupid with my tablet.
Thank you in advance!
You have to wipe system, cache and dalvik first then reflash your ROM and gapps.

No, you must wipe system first, because if you flash over another gapps, there is left overs from the previous gapps.

Not saying its the best way...but I have done it before and havent had issues. Of course its always better to flash ROM again.

What exactly do you mean by "left over"? Would it affect the new gapps in anyway?

Probably. I mean if you don't wipe, there maybe some small parts left from the old gapps.

There is dirty flashing, which is flashing the wingray gapps over the existing one. It is dirty because they may not contain exactly the same apps, versions or state. This can cause conflicts which may affect the performance of the apps concerned or even functionality of the tab itself. For this reason it is better to do a clean flash which involves wiping cache, partition, formatting etc which will ensure that the system partition is completely cleared and therefore clean. So my advice is do a clean flash by doing all the wipes, format etc first then flash the ROM followed by the gapps and then wipe cache and dalvik again before rebooting.
Cheers!

Will do, thank you everyone here on your input. Will update after I do the procedure.
UPDATE
So I completely wiped the device, after backing up my app data, and reflashed CM 10.1 along with the wingray gapps. Google Search/Now still don't seem to be working unless I don't update the app. I was under the impression that with the wingray gapps it would work all the time, but at least the google search functionality works if I don't update the app, I can live with that.
Is this just an issue with this device? Or is there a way to get google now to work all the time, even when updating the app?
Update update
I tried to do it again, this time with a different version of gapps that someone pointed to me, claiming that it works completely on his tab. I'm still having the same problem, google now crashes when I try to run it, unless I uninstall its updates.
