Hello everyone,
I want to know how apps for example Appredeem tracks my phone? I installed CyanogenMod 9 on my phone over Android 2.3 (I deleted all information in the device), I used my other Google account, I installed Appredeem from Market and this program still showing my info when I used it with Android 2.3. Maybe Appredeem tracks my IMEI, etc.?
Thanks for answers
UP
It can track IMEI because its unchangeable and its great for tracking purposes or it can use the phones serial number.

Im using miui rom and there its possible to check wich apps does what
for instance if u really dont want facebook to check youre location
u are able to deny facebook the access to locations
or other apps to get connected with youre mesasges or something
Installing a new rom, wiping data/cache etc. usually doesn't wipe the sdcard contents unless you manually delete/format it.
Did you make sure there wasn't any file left?

I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?
Can anybody help me?
I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed
Let me just say, I have no idea why this thread was moved or resurrected. Whoever did so was about a year and a half too late. Please close/delete this thread.

Whenever I triy to download any Android application from Android Market, one message will appear like " There is no phones associated with this account". I tried many times, but the result was same.
All ready tried some techniques from other sites but did not work.
Can anybody tell me the working solution for this problem??
Also I was wondering why google made the things this much complicated.
Thanks in advance!!!

no need for big letters mate
maybe do a full wipe and try opening another account from the market that may work.
I assume you have a gmail address and have used it on the device to log in?
When you log into your Android Market account via your PC, using this gmail address, what do you see in My Market Account/Settings?
You should see a list of devices there under My Devices and a list including headers like
NICKNAME VISIBILITY MAKER MODEL CARRIER LAST USED, etc.
Sorry for using big letters. My intention was to get a quick attention.
Yes I used my gmail account thru my Device many times.
But under My devices, it shows "There are no Android devices associated with this account."
whether I should use some special application to associate my device.?
What version of Android Market do you have on your phone?
What ROM? Carrier?
Have you tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in?

I suggest you simply do a factory restore, that will wipe most stuff on your phone but I guess it doesn't matter since it is a new phone.
Then make sure you enter correct gmail-account when requested after the factory restore (probably what got wrong the first time).
(settings->privacy->factory data reset)
I tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in method before but it doesn't work.
Regarding ROM and carrier , I have no idea how to identify those things from my device.
Please advice me how to get those information.

Hi,
Recently I installed a custom ROM to my ZTE Axon 7, and before that I backed up my apps like LINE on google drive. I could see that it did save some data and the app could see the backup.
But after installing the new OS by unlocking the bootloader, my LINE couldn't see the backup in my google drive. I searched online it says the hidden data on google drive can only be accessed using the app itself. And that this is done by the apps generating IDs using the android ID etc.
So I assume the ID generated by LINE is different now. Is it because Android ID has changed? Does rooting or unlocking can do this?
It's very frustrating not to be able to access this data when it's still there.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, i need help and i hope that someone here can help me, im currently infested by a virus or malware that keeps on coming back, it never stop it always install itself
and it has the capability to
1. read phone status and identity
2. location
3. modify/delete contents
4. find accounts on device
5. download files WITHOUT notification
6.retrieve running app and run at startup
7. draw over other apps
8. read sync settings
it looks very dangerous it could steal info from my phone, based on my research those who are infected by this app also receives msgs with links and it seems that the phone itself created that message and sends to itself
right now i have no idea on how to remove this problem, also rooting is impossible currently because my phone is not supported on any rooting services and i yes i tried everything, emailed them if they supports rooting my phone and they all say no.
i was able to grab a copy of the enginee app in apk format maybe someone is interested on simulating it on an emulator (im doing it right now actually)
wow, very friendly "developers"
Hello, I've been searching endlessly for countless days now, I want to restore my app + app data from my Huawei Y9 Prime (unrootable), to my Moto G Stylus 5G (rooted). I attempted abd backup, but upon restoring it on my new rooted device, it installed/restored absolutely 0 apps, and of course no app data despite it taking awhile to "restore".

I've tried this, and unfortunately it didn't copy anything meaningful. A lot of my apps are installed through apks, and previously I used Huawei's Phone Clone to clone my old phone, and when it finished, everything on my new phone was exactly how it was on the old one, and that's what I'm trying to achieve here. But so far I've had no luck in doing so.
Edit: By "nothing meaningful", I meant it literally copied everything EXCEPT all my apps and their data. In which is said "196/196 apps failed". No further information or anything.
Pretty all I need is to get all my app's data from root/data/data, and transfer it.
