Sob!!! Sob!!
I dropped my beloved S2 from apprx 1.5 metres onto a concrete pavement. It fell on the top corner. All work ok.. but I have small horrible looking dents in the metal frame. Anyone know of a clever way to make them less visible?
A case.

battle wounds! Just throw it down a few more times to get over the anxiety, I like that "used" look.
Already ordered! I just thought there may be a way of fixing it like car scratches (T-Cut etc)
Please be careful in the future.
dont worry about it ive did the same it just adds charactar

I'm betting you're a Brit.
Get a washing up spunge with the green scratchy stuff on.
Rub the silver bit loads so looks like brushed metal.
People do it on iPhones all the time.

With the galaxy s its painted plastic so don't go to mad, or you will get plastic.
The iPhone has a metal bezel so can go mental on it.

ouch..
yeah my heart sank a few hours ago, dropped my S2 face first on the floor - luckily vinyl carpented floor so no damage!
maybe just a grey/black translucent/silicon skin to cover it up ?

i bought one, put it on and 5 minutes later it fell out of my jeans (~2 1/5 meters, downstairs) and it got NOTHING! This really helps

no pictures it didn't happen ... sorry what metal frame got dented? Is there even a metal frame? I mean I know the phone has a magnesium frame, but the body is full plastic isn't it?
Was getting out of the car today and had my phone sitting in my lap and it fell to the ground and landed on the bottom left corner and proceeded to tumble across the parking lot all the while managing to dodge some puddle of who knows what. I picked it up and to my amazement just a scratch on the outer corner no cracked screen. I am amazed at how sturdy this phone seems to be. That fall would have shattered my old iPhones screen. I love this freaking phone!

Yup, most of the drops that I've had are just minor nicks on the corner but thats about it! I can't even take a picture of it because you don't notice it until you get really close to it...
I would assume it has to do with the fact that the phone is so light

You got lucky, get a case. We have the casemate with the kick stand at my store and it is awesome.
Ive also dropped my phone and was so scared to turn it around, only to find nothing happened to it

I had that case. It's alright... The rubber bumpers started wearing off from rubbing my jeans. Since then I've switched to the otterbox and never looked back.
Honestly I only ever used the kickstand once - when playing with the new case for the first time.

Yeah i have that case but didn't enjoy walking around with a brick in my pocket. I understand the benefits of it outweigh the cons of the size but, it flat out uncomfortable

Mine fell about 5 feet onto a tile floor day after I put my Taurus bumper on. Not a scratch on the phone or bumper.
When I first got my i777, I was so scared to even touch it, it was my first nice phone other than a Palm Pre, but this is a super phone. Saw very little use until screen protector and case arrived.
It's my baby.
I did something similar fell onto parking lot bounced and hit the under carriage of my car then back to the ground again. No case or screen protector or anything. Lucky and the phone is indeed durable. It got a few scratches along the outer edges and corners but everything still works and the screen still looks great. Almost couldn't believe the screen didn't crack

Went to the gym and was running on the treadmill listening to Pandora. Next thing I know ....phone is face down and I was flipping out haha. After a 7 mph sling across the room hitting another weight machine...everything's fine. Thank you otter box

Mine dropped while I was trying to put it in my pocket, the corner hit the ground then the screen. I expected the screen would have a lot of scratch but when I picked it up, the outer edge corner damaged and the screen have a very little scratch near the Samsung Logo. Never thought it only has those damage while my old captivate scratch by putting it with a business card in my pocket. I sold my S2 to my brother for 300 and get the international one but still miss the ATT S2. It was the best phone I've ever had, It has nothing that I could complain about. Will get another one next week because the International never gave me the same experience the ATT version did.
I will use my phone without a case. This thing has passed the thoughness test. It has fallen so many times I lost count.
It has a few scratches but the screen is in perfect condition even though it has fallen screen first a few times

I know many have too but mine dropped screen first. And guess what happened. It shattered. Woops, typo, I mean I shattered with happiness because it didn't break., though I do have very ugly scratches or the white plastic right on top of the glass. I have a barely there kijj case so no scratches on the sides
Just assuring you that out phone is much more stronger than the s3
I dropped it accidentally from about 1.6 metres into bricks, SCREEN LAYING FLAT! therefore I thought my xs screen was done for.
Though I heard the bottom signal thingy is poorly built (oh yeah a few odd marks there thanks to the drop) ... Lucky mine dropped from the top first
Also have scratches on my screen protector which I'll be replacing

I'm sorry about that I know how it is
Can you provide some pics of damages? You know.. For science
that's good to hear!
I dropped my HTC a few times in clubs and it never broke down I dropped some samsung phones as well.. they all died within a week after the drop
Hopefully I won't drop my SXS
My XS dropped out of my pocket whilst I was sitting on concrete... Fell less than 10cm and I have a nasty chip in the bottom part... That bit definitely isnt well built.
However the phone did then land screen down on some loose stones and there wasnt even a scratch
Anyone know if you can replace the bottom part?

I saw that today as well and was about to ask. Can anyone clarify?
One side of mine removed easily. The other not so much. But seeing as it's advised not to reuse. I'm now wondering what to do too.
How do we amaze owners keep the device looking amazing

Hey FilthyGoat I take my case off, remove battery and lightly air blow, wipe the edges there is always a little layer of dust there.
I do that ever couple weeks so it does not accumulate. I also use a LCD screen cleaner, no house hold cleaners on the screen.
Hope my method will give you some tips FilthyGoat .......your username makes me smile with this question you asked

Indeed, thing is, filthy goats have a very hard time keeping anything clean
I go try hard some times and completely give the phone a wipe down but the screen becomes smudged very quick ... Maybe cuz I'm filthy? Who knows
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
mine too, smudges happen very quick, doesen't take much in terms of greasy fingers. I have a couple eyeglass cloths around my desk at work and I give it a spray with the eyeglass solution and just wipe it down. Also, I change the screen protector every few months, and go through a few tpu cases a year. Mine still looks as new as the day I bought it.
the kinda of case and screen protector i'm using don't really leave smudges... the most ill have to worry about is dust gathering around the corners of the screen where the protector is.. but i just blow it off dust and wipe it whenever it looks dirty
Is eye glass cleaner harmful to the glass display?

Has anybody noticed that dust collects on the inside of the little window for the front-facing camera? Or, am I the only one this has happened to? I have no idea how to clean it; I've tried shooting "canned air" into the back with the cover off, and into the earpiece. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd gladly listen. Thanks!

i go naked!
I originally had a ballistic case for my phone but hate how bulky it was, and the phone is a heavy beast as it is. I really don't like screen protectors either, they either smudge too much, or distort the clarity of the screen. So I'm going totally naked now which can be a delicate operation, so I take the following steps to keep my phone clean.
1. Don't drop it. Duh. Most of the time dropping a phone without a case isn't the end of the world though, and I could live with a ding in the corner should it happen, better than living in fear and having a frumpy-ass case wrapped around it the other 99.9% of the time that I don't have poor coordination...
2. Never set the phone down on a hard surface unless very gently, this prevents scratching. If I do set my phone down I put my wallet under it, but most of the time my phone is either in my hand or in my front pocket.
3. Dedicate one pocket to you phone (you can carry your wallet there too it it's soft), and NOT your back pocket. I'm a lightweight guy and I shattered the screen on my Atrix by sitting on it when getting into my car, turned out it wasn't as strong as my iPhone's 3GS screen was, so I don't do this anymore. Sounds stupid but I've knowingly sat on my phone thousands of times without it ever breaking... I just really like my phone in my back pocket. So now I keep my phone in my front right pocket with the screen facing my leg; keys and spare change go in left pocket.
4. Carry a microfiber pouch on you--I use this to clean the screen and to clean my sunglasses, and I store my sunglasses in it when stowing them away. Most cheap-o sunglasses stores around here will sell you one for 2 or 3 dollars, the nice ones feel like micro-suede...
5. Keep your hands & ears clean, I won't detail how to clean you ears and trim your nails but you get the idea
Dead skin and pocket debris are the main things to get stuck in the speaker grills so if you're super anal you could keep your phone in a soft case with a drawstring before putting it in your pocket but that's kinda dorky, at the end of the day it's just a phone and you're probably gonna replace it with a better one in due time anyways so I say go naked and enjoy...
Hey guys,
Im a proud owner of an HOX+ and im definitely satisfied with it as it is my first smartphone. However it is a quality product, it seems that the engineers tried to save some money (or whatever the reason is) and made our camera lens protector from plastic.
Due to this maleur, i started getting unclear and fuzzy pictures with a purple lane on the top, after a half-year use. I surfed over the net and found some solutions (use toothpasta, banana and more unbelievable methods).
I used Sonax's chrome and alu pasta with a regular nano wipe. It only took 1 mins, you have to push the wipe quite hardly, but you are not at gym so do not destroy your phone i did it clockwise and the result was a totally clear, unscratched surface.
After the process some pasta remained near the lens, i removed it with a corner of a paper due it is thin, but be careful not to screw up your work.
To prevent further scratches, i placed a round shaped piece of a screen guard.
Sorry for my english, its not my native language
Sent from my One X+ using xda app-developers app
Did this a few months back and I was afraid it would scratch. But it didn't, it seems the lens is more resistant without the coating
Same here, it works with toothpaste. I used lens cleaning paper since it doesn't disintegrate like tissue. Then carefully removed excess paste by wiping with a moist tissue.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app
I used some plastic scratch remover stuff, made for car headlights. Worked great, took all the scratches right off. Its been 6 months since that, been more careful to keep it from getting scratched.
And does any of you know a trick that removes the scratches from the screen?
Sent from my One X+ using xda app-developers app
I'm sorry to be that nitpicky, but will any kind of toothpaste do? Or simple white one?
I've got some scratches on the lens cover, nothing serious yet but I wanna be prepared to do this when the time comes
I'm definitely going to try this. What kind of cloth did you use to rub it in though? Is a tissue fine?
Ive used the bag of my sunglasses. It is nanowipe so it's tender enough. Do not use anything made of paper. I don't know anything about the toothpaste method.
