Well, you have to keep in mind first of all that most JB rom development, although impressive, is typically in beta phase. All in all, jb is surprisingly stable, and can be used as a daily....but you may run into troubles. I ran JB a few times, each time for quite awhile...I was impressed but was much happier on ICS. ICS will typically have better battery life than JB...ICS also has more ram I believe (although I am not entirely certain...maybe someone can back this up). Ultimately, you'll have to test both yourself and decide what suits your personal needs best...but personally, I find ICS performing all around better than JB at this moment.

I agree, completely with him. But, oh well.
For HoneyComb, I've always preferred Galaxy Task 14. Its fast, stable, smooth, and it feels great. But if you're looking for a non-touchwized HC version I suggest Clean Rom. You'll need honeycomb for now if you want camera support, no ICS/JB ROMs support camera until Sammy' decides to cough up the source/drivers.
For ICS it really depends. CM9 nightly builds are great, but I've always gone back to AOKP nightlies/milestones after a CM9 flash. I feel AOKP has a quicker, snappier feel to it. Plus, AOKP is highly customizable. I suggest Milestone 6.
For JB theres just one port, but this really isn't for the faint of heart since wifi, sound, and the camera do not work at all. This is highly experimental and you really should go here if you're looking for a daily driver, but it is really smooth.
Overall, I suggest AOKP M6 its really smooth, and its ICS. The only down side is the camera issue.
With the ease of flashing these ROM's it would be beneficial to test each one and see what you think offers you the best stability, response, and works with whichever apps you use.
I have been playing with Scott's CleanROM 2.0 and Task650's Task14 slim. I am currently on Task's ROM and using Pershoots kernel. I honestly like both ROM's thus far.... going to test out Bindroid next.
Those roms task14 and clean are for wifi only he has p7500 use bindroid for honey comb or cyanogennod9 for ics.. I'd recommend cm9 look for it in cm9 Site as p4 with no variants but p4

Wait for stable Jelly Bean Rom
I have tested JB ROM. Still its to early to comment but its buttery smooth and lightning fast. After a stable rom comes. It would be way better then ICS or honeycomb.
Test and explore different Roms and decide for yourself. I settled on Task's Slim 14.

I don't see why that has to be the case, provided people can stay mature and polite to one another.
If the thread descends into flaming then of course it'll be locked but in the mean time, I see no reason not to give it a fair chance.

Fastest ROM and kernel combination?

Hello. Can I get some suggestions for the fastest ROM and kernel combination for the fascinate? I have looked all over Google but honestly couldn't find anything relatively new. I want something that can handle a decent overclock, is stable, and is very fast so I can play games with no lag. Any suggestions? I honestly would rather GB over ICS but if getting ICS is what it takes to get maximum speed, then I will go for it. But I would appreciate GB Rom and kernel combinations and ICS ROM and kernel combinations along with some pros and cons of each. That would be great. Thank you!

CM7 and 9 are pretty fast. I'd stay away from JB for now, as it is surprisingly slow. MIUI has good looks and speed but gets literally HALF the battery life CM9 does. The only kernel in town for CM7 is Glitch, witch is a good one. For ICS you have a choice between Devil Kernel and IcyGlitch. Devil has more features and is my preferred kernel, especially since IcyGlitch as the buggy TWRP recovery.
I like aokp m6 with the devil kernel. very fast and stable

Honestly, Helly Bean ROM version 20120807 isn't slow at all. It supports a 1.4GHz overclock and runs 4.1.1. Unlike other ROMs, HB uses /datadata partition to make things quick and smooth. However, no kernel uses /datadata, so the stock kernel has to be used. But i love it.

I have experienced better battery life on MIUI for my HD2 than CM7 or CM9.

Thank you. I think I will try the AOKP ROM. I'm using CM7 as of now with the Glitch kernel but the battery life isn't that great and it's as slow as turtle.

Losing interest in Cm9 & 10

I have realized that cm9 and 10 will never be properly stable on the ace (and even if they do it will be after a long time, months probably), almost all the releases have battery drain and camera problems.
For me its time to move on and accept that the ace is at its best with gingerbread. What about you guys, what do u think?
i used tosay that to since i needed to have working youtube fully
but with the aokp / pac rom my life changed
its just awesome

but camera takes a lot of battery, around 10 percentage after taking 2 pics. And also the rom lags after flashing gapps.
For now im sticking with Miuixxx, im not having any problems (no reboots), battery should be great (caliberating right now) because of vo-1 and firekernel. And it's fully functional, and the miui look is just great.
Never tried cm10 (yet). Maybe I should. But I can live with gingerbread, for now.

Well I kinda agree with you, until now there isn't any stable CM9 / 10 ROMs (although developers are doing great job and maybe we might get a stable ics or jb ROM). For now I just stick with CM7 and just trying to make it better with mods, themes and such

I honestly can't wait for JB. I flashed it on my friend's Tmobile GS2 and it was flawless. HQ video wasn't working though. But who uses it anyway.
It was epic nonetheless. Could be officially used as a daily rom. I'm still waiting for the day JB can be used on the Ace like that. I've never tried it. Can someone confirm if it's as fluid as they say it is? The day I try it is gonna be when I decide to use it as my daily rom.

Well, i'm using MIUI SnapSeries for a while and i think its great. Unfortunatelly have battery drain (half day in some cases, without using wifi constantly) camera bugs and others little things, but the rom itself its very fast. I've got 2300 in antutu benchmark with this rom, not even cm7 gave me that. I will try PAC now and see how it's going.
I am using jellaxy CM10 build 5/10/12 with michies's performance package and nims11 Kernel and the ROM runs awesome.
no lags so whatever after using michie's performance package
and Deep sleep works for me even if i use camera and Bluetooth
if u wanna have deep sleep and also wanna use Camera.with preview then download Camera illusion from market and use HD mode.
I turned Bluetooth on and after switching it off I locked my Ace and after that checked deep sleep time and it had increased.
well im sticking with MIUIXXX its really stable (i dnt have reboots or anything), and its eyecandy too

Are you serious ?
but I'm waiting for Camera to be completely fixed
about features cm7 is good enough for phone.. hardware accelerated UI has not been that good on ace in anyway.. ICS launchers are equally smooth on gingerbread... no ICS goodies works good enough
browser improvements was main but stock ics browser lags like hell (chrome not supported ) and on our so called 278 ram size ics runs awful..
GB roxx until i change my phone.. non the less android is so fragmented that gingerbread support will not die until 5-6 years from now

Most stable JB for daily usage?

Hi, in your opinion which is the most stable JB with best battery time?
The focus is only and only on stability and battery, not features, what are your thoughts?
I had tried Hellybean before and it acts funny with the radio and my radio used to go off for hours and it sucks battery alot like 2 months ago, I then flashed icszen 1.8.5, which is okay but it starts having trouble after 2 weeks of usage like screen doesnt responds to wake ups and f there's a call coming, i have tough time responding to it as the phone has trouble waking up.
So I was considering a switch to JB again and hoping now development would have reach more stable levels.
Thanks!
Using slimbean from a couple of months and I'm very happy with slimbean. Also tried hellybean ,cm10,remics jb but not satisfied with any of those .The latest 2 8 version of slimbean is awesome don't have any problems except GPS .its silky smooth ,fast, stable .try it once it is not going to disappoint you

I like aokp its very stable and has some pretty good battery life but then again I have a bigger new battery. Hellybean has also improved very much so
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
You ask three people and get 3 different answers. My suggestion is try a couple and see what you like. I'm using paranoid android, its very very smooth and there will most likely be an update soon with working GPS.
I would try SB, PA, CM10, and try the latest HB. See what works for you.

What is the most efficient CM ROM

Was wondering which of the CM ROMs is most efficient as far as memory and battery usage. Froyo, Gingerbread, or Jelly Bean?
I prefer jellybean. For jellybean use cyanaosp with rather the stock kernel or Mackay kernel. V6 supercharger
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
I decided to go with the ROMs from Fisherman. If I can every get Odin to detect my phone in download mode. But yea, I decided an actual phone ROM would be the best option instead of using ICS or Jb. There is less to maintain and I don't have to worry about bugs like bt and battery life.
Well you have to look at it this way. Our phone never even got gingerbread for it to run jellybean is a miracle bit it also consumes some ram while jellybean is awesome froyo was the last update our phone ever got
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
I would have to agree with you. I will only use this phone for work. So strictly no 3rd party apps other than skype. Not even a custom launcher. I think I shouldn't worry about memory consumption. Just rely on the awesome custom ROMs that the devs optimize.
I use the phone as a test subject now its my little brothers media player toy. You just gotta see what works best for you
