Howdy,
I've been searching for a good tablet photo widget for hours and simply can not find what I'm looking for.
I would like the widget to...
-Be stretch-able Horizontally and Vertically separately.
-Be cropped which ever way I see fit (Portrait/Landscape).
Miui has a good photo widget which lets you have a portrait frame and a landscape frame, but they can not be
enlarged. As well as, the tablet does not support Miui launcher.
*Launchers are welcome as well!
Thanks in advance~
Cheers,
JT

I am looking for the following that I haven't been able to find by searching:
-Widget with different sizes
-Widget will automatically slideshow from selected drawers at a set interval (with random as option)
-You can scroll through the photos by swiping, preferrably seamless (with the help of a launcher that allows scrollable widgets I guess) so you can scroll really quick
-Clicking a picture will bring you its source
Would this be possible (or is there such a widget already)?
I have not found anything like this but would love to have it.
Would like this also... thought i'd 'bump' the short thread.

Great idea.. Whoever decides to jump on board should test with one of the new 7 inch tablets as well.. Having extra screen estate means bigger thumbnails for Widgeez especially anything picture related.
Multi Picture Live Wallpaper does more or less what you want.
You can have an empty screen and cycle the background.
Obviously not a widget, but it comes close to what you want.
(can't yet add the link for you unfortunately)
I know exactly what you might be looking for...
I had a "Sony Xperia Arc LT15a" on gingerbread.. and it had a scrolling gallery widget where the pictures shuffled in folder order when you touch the widget and I cant find it anywhere. If anyone can find anything similar msg me please!
If you haven't already you should definitely check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857493
Its good but what I'm really looking for is simply an automatic slideshow version of the stock android photo gallery widget. I like the way it stacks the photos, shows them in high res and responds to flicking through them - I just wish it would animate automatically!
I need slide widget 'xperia style' too. Is it present?
Up!
Ok so I have been searching around the forum for this for a while, and no precise answer presented itself. So I decided to just ask the question. HOW DO YOU FIX THE WALLPAPERS!?!?!?! They zoom in and get all buggy. I know you can use Mulltipicture live wallpaper but I think that drains the battery. I'm running BoS a4.0 if that matters.
quickpic wallpaper app works pretty good for me. The correct size, theoretically, is 1024X600. The reason it's cropped and resized is so that the system can translate it to portrait AND landscape modes, depending on the perspective.
Quickpic works the same way as loading from Gallery, but for some reason, doesn't resize as drastically. Just remember, that the center of the "crop" portion is slightly off center vertically...when cropping, position the portion of the image that you want "centered" in the top 1/3rd of the crop square.
While TJEvans is correct you can also choose a picture you want and crop it so the resolution is 1024x1024 (1024x600 is the original but if you crop a picture for that resolution and then turn your tablet in portrait mode it will not cover the screen)
I found the solution to this issue. Presently I'm using Flashback HC. It took me a couple of hours of downloading multiple apps and testing them and found that 'MultiPicture Live Wallpaper' is the key to getting the best results. Here's how...
Download MultiPicture Live Wallpaper from the market
Take a proportionate picture size of 1600x1200 or larger. Resize it to 1600x900 in Photoshop
Load the pictures onto your g-Tablet
Choose MultiPicture Live Wallpaper from the live wallpaper section.
Add individual settings from 6-10 as 6 being the left most screen and 10 being the right most screen.
Go into each individual settings and choose one of your 1600x900 pictures
Go to 'Crop/Resize Ratio' and select 'Fit to Fullscreen'
Hit back either once or twice depending on where your coming from and 'Set Wallpaper'
Viola! your picture in it's full glory. May be a little cropping but almost unnoticeable. Compared to original picture looks identical.
Cheers...
Wallpaper wizardrii fro mkt will fix your problems.
Excuse me if I missed it but I'm interested in getting my wallpaper cropped, panoramic, and scrolling as they did in my Galaxy S2 and Fascinate. I know some people are using different launchers to accomplish this. Which one and are they able to crop the wallpaper properly prior to setting it? I also have one other request. I need my live wallpapers to scroll as well since I have one that slightly rotates in either direction when panning thru my home pages. Why is this feature not included on the Note? I sure do miss it. Thanks for your assistance.

I was wondering this myself. I was quite boggled when I went to make my wallpaper my favorite TRON: Legacy wallpaper with LauncherPro and it was completely wrong.
I can get them to scroll when using ADW and Go launchers but it doesn't change the fact that we have to crop them in a portrait shape instead of a landscape shape like we want. Also, my live wallpaper will not rotate no matter what launcher I use. I'm doubting ICS will give us this option either. Maybe a custom ROM is our only hope Great, back to the custom ROM world of bugs...
Autosize DbD wallpaper set is the app you need to pick up to crop or fit a wallpaper correctly without having it enlarged.
Scrolling wallpaper works for me on the launcher called ashell
Both these apps are free and lightweight

Do you think this will allow live wallpapers to scroll? I have several that move when moving from page to page when used in my galaxy 2 or fascinate
If you use the skyrocket wallpaperpicker.apk (will try and post it up later)
it allows landscape selection.

I have tried downloading apps and getting pictures off the internet that are at 2560x1600 but they are all blurry. The only good ones are the default ones built-in. Is there any place to go to get wallpapers that are not blurry?

Try 'Pattrn'. The quality on the 10's screen is fantastic.
Wallpaperswide.com and use the simple image wallpaper app to set them as wallpaper.

Dont listen to the above, you'll always have cropping issues and it'll look horrible if you use 2560x1600 because Android wallpapers scroll and are meant to look good in both landscape and portrait. Ideally, you should use images that are exactly 3966x2560. There aren't a lot of those out there, however. What I've been doing until more become available is Google's image search, using the Search Tools option to limit the results to images exactly or larger than 12MP (4096x3072). Scaling an image down will look much better than scaling up, and using anything below 3966x2560 will do just that.
Edit: Sorry, I skimmed the other replies before writing this. technician42's suggestion for the Pattrn app is actually a really good one. The others though... as I said, anything less than 3966x2560 will give you a bad time.

Not 100% true.
So don't disregard the links above as they're perfectly useful and I have many wallpapers that are 2560x1600 that aren't cropped on my N10. Use an app called Simple Image Wallpaper Free in conjunction with wallpapers from the above links, or with any other 2560x1600 images you find. The app is actually a "live wallpaper" but there is nothing live about it. From within the settings check "fill screen" and the app will make sure there is no cropping of the image. If you are so inclined you may also choose different images for landscape and portrait. One thing to note, your wallpaper will not scroll if you use this. Enjoy.

The problem with this approach is, unless the wallpaper doesn't rotate with the tablet, it would look horrible in portrait mode (or Landscape if you used a 1600x2560 image). You cant fill 2560 of height with 1600 without ugly stretching.

I see what you're saying, but the wallpaper doesn't rotate with the screen, so it doesn't stretch. One downside is that some of what you see in landscape mode won't be seen in portrait, but I rarely use my tablet in portrait anyway.
Simple image wallpaper pro lets you choose a different wallpaper for portrait. I can't stand the scrolling wallpaper. First thing i turn off, and its MUCH easier finding good wallpapers. 2560 x 1600 is the right resolution for a non scrolling, one screen wallpaper. Looks great. Oh, just discovered yesterday that recent nova launcher update will let you crop and set non scrolling wallpapers. Woot!

The official AOKP from Steve Spear has this feature built into his ROM.
The easiest way to find wallpaper that you don't have to crop is Google images and use the Exact Size feature (priceless feature btw)
Search for whatever ("wallpaper" being a good start)
Search Tools
Drop down that says "Any Size"
Choose "Exactly"
Enter in the HxW you want in pixels..
I use screen captures from Minecraft. You can get some pretty cinematic effects in Minecraft using optifine. I have some nice pictures that have been featured on my homescreen. For example, a cave system or setting sun.

I had the same problem with the 10 inch. The pics wouldn't fit right. I found a neat app called "Image 2 wallpaper". It solved the problem slick as melted butter. It will fit any pic you want to your screen without it blurring or pixellating.
hope this helps...

You can also download Apex Launcher. Even if you don't use the launcher the wallpaper cropper which comes with it (will appear last on your list when trying to apply a wallpaper from any launcher) works quite well. Sort of a what you see is what you get thing.
In order for the image to appear correctly in both portrait and landscape mode, one needs an image of 2560x2560, correct?
Thanks!

No it's not! Go with Simple Image Wallpaper apk... It will fit perfectly whatever image you want in both modes, besides its resolution
