Hi,
Id like to know if theres a way to force the youtube app to load low quality videos, as the 1.6 android version of the app.
I want this because my 3g connection is really slow and i simply cant stream any video with the default quality setting
If theres another app to stream low quality videos id be happy if you could say here
Tnx
You can download tubemate app.. It's a replacement for YouTube..
And it gives you an option to select which resolution of the video to be played and even gives you the option to download the video of the desired quality!

is there a way of having youtube play in high quality all the time instead of
wifi - high quality
HSDPA - low quality
I can always select high quality manually in the MORE section. But it should be possible to set this as default? Even my Touch HD could do this
Maybe it is just a 0 or a 1 in some system setting...?
On a somewhat unrelated topic... Does anyone know of a way to make the Youtube app the default player for youtube videos? I mean, when I go to youtube in my browser, the videos open in the HTC Flash Player, but I'd prefer the Youtube app opened instead. Any ideas?
Anyone notice that the video quality of the YouTube application is very poor. Its slightly better when viewing from the web browser but not by much.
I'm on T-mobile and not sure if this network related. I know mobile broadband download quality, especially with images to increase speed.
I've actually noticed that a hell of a lot of youtube just won't play on the Hero... Don't know why

It is possible to select "High Quality" playback, but only when the phone is connected to the Internet through WiFi: press Menu and select "More" while playing a video.
AFAIK This option is not available when using the mobile data connection (I guess to save bandwith)
Is there a way to force high quality videos even on EDGE?
Also possible with 3G, here in Holland but not with every YouTube movie. To find out if it is possible to watch the movie in high quality start the movie, press menu --> more. If it is possible you will see the options, watch in high quality, startpage and search. If not only the options, startpage and search.

Hi,
Does anyone know how to specify a quality in the YouTube app, rather than the default HQ and LQ settings please?
The LQ setting (240p) quality is too low to make anything out.
The HQ setting (480p I assume?) takes too long to load on 3G, and sometimes even Wifi.
So is there any way to change it to another quality in between, like 360p?
Thanks.
Hey guys,
So I have a 7510 (Wi-Fi only) with DaAwesome1's vanilla Honeycomb on it. I love watching videos on it, however my problem is that where I live, the fastest internet I can get is 1.5mbps. Therefore watching youtube videos at anything higher than 480p just simply isn't possible without letting it sit paused for a while to buffer.
When using the Youtube app on the Galaxy Tab, a video in "HD" just can't load fast enough for me to watch. It seems as though the video might be loading at 720p, therefore with my internet it keeps stopping. And without HD enabled, the video quality is so horrendous it just isn't watchable.
So my question, is there any way to edit a file that will force the Youtube app to use 360p or 480p with the HD option? The app itself does not have any setting to specifically pick which quality.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Can anyone help me out here?
Why not just use the website?
Well the website doesn't format the video that great in the browser. And also, when playing through the website, the video is a little laggy.
Hey guys. I'm searching for an application that would allow me to watch YouTube videos in ultra low resolutions, such as 240p AND/OR 144p.
I am working with a really bad WiFi connection here, thats why i need it. The Twitch (Twitch.tv) app is great, because you can select "mobile" in the quality selection box and i can watch it perfectly , but on the YouTube app there's nothing close to that.
