Are you using the OFFICIAL Nightly or an UNOFFICIAL.
If you watch the video, you see that mine is 4.0.4.
I can't wait to give this a shot. Been on the official CM9 for a whiles. Seems like progress is at a standstill with official releases.

This build removed the WIFI issues that I had at work. W00t!
Have you ever used CWM Manager to go to CWM instead of the reboot menu?
It saves a couple of steps.

I did the same thing, but the unofficial is still 4.0.3 whereas the Official for March 29th is 4.0.4, so I will be switching to official builds now
Hi Rev. Have you heard of the "GooManager" app? It actually is a one-stop shop for unofficial, official and gapps files. If you want I can send you the apk to check out.

I flashed this nightly but my notifications are messed up. When I have a notification in the bottom right corner, it just shows a blurry white box in place of the actual notification. I went back to Alpha 2 and this problem is not there. I'll stick to Alpha 2 for now unless there's a way to fix that.

Are you running any type of additional video drivers, such as Chainfire?
If so, you may need to reinstall them.
Or... it may be time to do a factory reset in Clockwork Recovery.

Nothing extra like that installed. I did do a factory reset in recovery but it still didn't fix that issue. Don't know what's causing it. Might try one time after I do a backup in recovery. Last time I forgot that I didn't have a backup :-\ .

hello all,
i have followed entropy512's thread here to get my at&t samsung galaxy s2 rooted with stock settings...i then wanted clockworkmod recovery so i went to this and followed directions to get everything installed...everything was ok and working until a few weeks ago when the 'Check Update' option under Setting stopped working...
basically what happens is when i goto Settings-> Software Update->Check for updates->Hit OK (Check the AT&T server for new software update?) a dialog comes up that says 'Checking for software updates...' and nothing happens...i have left the phone over night with device management app checking for software updates... when this used to work, it took less than 1 minute to check...
finally, the only way for me to stop this is to go and force stop Device Manager under Applications->All, so before i restore the phone to factory, i was wondering if anyone knows what might be the issue here?
Thanks,
FI

umm this option was working until a few weeks ago and it randomly stopped so im not sure what rooting has to do with it...furthermore, i did search using various permutations of words around the issue at hand, and i did not find threads that addressed this issue...

Being rooted you shouldn't even worry about updates, if you had actually searched you would have seen that

OTA updates require factory recovery. I'm a bit hazy on the details but I believe CWM, in short, replaces that.
It might also be because you either turned off/uninstalled or inadvertently removed factory bloatware.

This. Amongst other things. If u insist on trying to eventually upgrade to whatever crap gets pushed out to us yer best bet is to do a full wipe to completely stock firmware.

once again, the issue is not weather i should worry about updates or not nor did i search for if i should worry about updates...this option was working and something happened that caused it to stop working...and my searches i did was around getting device management to connect to the dm server (which is where the 'Checking for update' got stuck)

both of you seem to be spot on...i didnt realize that removing bloatware which was marked as 'ok to remove' on the document of things to remove safely could have been the issue...initially i had frozen them using titanium...neway i restored the phone using the CWM backup i had and the option started working like expected...thanks for the input
I'm curious...why do you want that option to work?

Do you recall all the issues with UCKK6 Gingerbread? That was an AT&T release. The devs had to tear it apart to debug and try to fix it. Any build will have bugs in it. But generally, custom firmwares will have fewer bugs than AT&T firmware.

unfortunately, i joined the android bandwagon only when i got my samsung galaxy s2, which was a little late in the game, so i have no clue on all the start up issues that people experienced with Gingerbread release...
for now ill need to stick with stock/At&T firmware however ill make the switch to custom firmwares when i stop being lazy and create a USB jig for myself...

Why would you need a jig? You're already rooted with CWM.

I've been running AOKP by Task for a while and have never had a serious issue. The one's I have had were self inflicted and with some reading were quite easy to fix.

if my research that i conducted a while ago is right, then basically samsung has implemented a flash counter which increments each time you flash a custom, non-stock rom...it might also be applied to non-stock kernels/firmwares as well (im not too sure)...so to prevent the flash counter from ever incrementing, ill need to put the phone in download mode using the jig and continue from there...

This is wrong. It is only incremented when you use ODIN to flash nonstock items. CWM has no bearing on flash counters.

You have some bad information...but I have some good news for you.
The flash counter only counts the number of times you've flashed a custom kernel in download mode via Odin. Using CWM to flash anything can't touch the flash counter. Same goes for Mobile Odin. I've been rooted and flashing for months, I don't have a jig, and my counter is still at zero.
EDIT: Ninja'd by a pirate!

Any GB issues only surfaced if you updated to 2.3.6. 2.3.4 for a "stock" firmware was pretty awesome. I'm on the latest ICS leak from ATT (LD4) and aside from the emmc bug (I'm using a safe kernel so I don't have it) IMHO its more complete then CM9 was. I stopped using CM9 at the end of May and don't miss it at all now.

I reccomend roms that use i9100 bases as they are usually better, roms like phonebricker, and shostock2 are good, my favorite touchwiz based rom though is serendipity 9. But thats my experiences so try them for yourself (i use aokp as my daily though.)

There is a download updates setting In the settings and then it says cheat on liquid. What are the updates? Please answer if you use this rom and know about the updates.

I believe that these are the updates to the Liquidsmooth ICS TBolt Rom. Currently, the latest version of this ROM is 1.5MR3, and so there won't be any updates, until the developers obtain the Camera Source Code, as they explained on their original thread.

There is a bunch of zips and stuff
Is this WITHIN the settings? I don't think there should be an update if you are running the latest version.
If it is within the settings on your phone, could you tell me what it says under "Build Number", at the bottom of the phone info screen? Perhaps you're not running the latest version?

I've been trying to update my i777 to ICS for the past few days, but Kies grays out the feature to update and says update through Kies is not supported by my device. I've tried over-the-air updating, but it says my software is up to date. I have no clue what to do. Also, I tried rooting to flash a custom ROM and get an update like that, but that doesn't work either. Please help.

I've sorted it. The problem was that I couldn't root because my computer didn't properly recognize my phone. I rooted and flashed task's jellybean aokp onto it, working better than ever. Thanks for the help, sorry for not making myself clearer on OP.

I have ported a few different custom rom's to my Verizon s4. I had not had any issues thus far. I decided to try an original android development rom and decided to go with the pac man rom. It seemed, and still does seem like a no brainer being it has the best from roms by top developers. I had been using hyperdrive for the past month or so, and I originally tried to move right to the latest nightlie ( 8/16). I use twrp and as soon as I booted the keyboard would not work for me to set up my phone. I went back into the pac thread and ended up flashing the 7/30 milestone release. It works great, however I would really like to run a 4.3 rom, and I would love for it to be pac man rom. I have tried updating using the exact directions to a t and once my phone updates every time I try and do anything my phone says android process a core has stopped. Also , whenever I click on my phone , contacts, or any other basic phone function it says app not installed. I am a newb, I have only been flashing for about four months. I have a galaxy nexus as well that I play with. I have not ran into an issue I have not been able to resolve using discussions or questions already posted on xda. I am coming up with nothing this time however. This is my first post and my first request for assistance. I hope my post is not to long. I would greatly appreciate any help offered.

I think I did, there was a link directly under the link for the ROM in the download box of the PAC man ROM page on this site. Those are the gapps I flashed. Goo manager keeps saying there is a gapps update for me though.
