So I'm going on a really long plane trip (12 hours) and I'm looking to occupy time so I thought... Classic Nintendo games of course
The question is how do I get such games for my phone? I REALLY want to play classic Zelda and Mario. Any ideas? Is there Mame for Android?

I have duck hunt which was pulled from the market long ago. If u want it pm me, it's against rules to post it. It'll cost u hitting the thanks button on this reply, it's worth it lol
I use nes-emu it came with 100 roms all marios and zeldas. I wrote down the mac address of my Wii mote by searching for it with Bluetooth on CM7 then synced it up with the Wii mote app. Configured the button map to play the roms on my droid with a Wii mote. Let me know if you need help with this.

I am playing Resident Evil 2 on my phone at the moment
Any idea on NDS emulator?

Dsoid but it heats up your phone like a microwave. It also is quite slow. You need a high end phone (not even mine, more like an S3 or a Nexus S) to play it properly.

nds4droid is better. Also, it doesn't even run all that well on higher end devices either, still too soon for that yet.

I haven't gotten around to trying any of these yet, but I was fairly pleased to find out that there exists Nintendo DS emulators. It sounds like there's lots of room for improvement though, and I can't wait for it to get better.

Idk if anyone has posted this yet... But I'm posting it anyways lol
There's an app called ONLIVE.. that's you could play ps3/ Xbox like games! it's crazy you get the graphics of the console on your smartphone and every game has a trial... In some you will need to buy the wireless remote which is $49.99 on the website and you can play via pc, tablet, any android smartphone!!!
TRY IT!
(If the game lags download RAM MANAGER from the market..(pro) and select hardcore gaming takes away aloooot of the lag

What games have you tested?
dirt 3... Split second...and darksiders... I was going to try batman arkham city but I need the remote
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Thats what that app is. Olympus rom comes w it!
Lucky hT-z 3D
according to the onlive website the controller requires android 4.0 on smartphones (http://support.onlive.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/432) (idk how 4.0 is going on cdma but gsm does not have a stable version) so if you do not have 4.0 don't buy a controller yet
That sucks lol

Didn't see this In search, how do I play Metal Gear Solid on my phone? I think I need 3 apps. A psx emulator, the game, and sixaxis app.
Edit: I have FPSe 11.11, scph101.bin, and Rom buddy 1.8 on my phone. No wifi ATM but gonna get MGS ver 1.1? 2 discs
Is there a newer MGS on our phones? Like Snake Eater: Subsistence?

Dumb auto-correct sometimes.
You seem to have answered your own question?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
You have what you need. A ps1 emulator and it's correct firmware .bin, the usa metal gear solid rom, and any app that lets you use whatever controller you want. That's probably the newest metal gear you'll get as the others are on ps2 and ps2 emulation is horrible on pc let alone a phone. If you haven't played the original metal gear 1 and 2 on the msx you should try them, pretty hard games though if you don't know what you're doing.

Not 100% true. If you have a decent rig, your comp can play PS2 games flawlessly. And I'm speaking from experience. Emulator worked on my old system which was a mere dual core with decent vid card and 3gb ram.
Like the title says, Final Fantasy III which has been available in the Japanese Play Store is now available in the US Play Store. 172 Mb via Wifi Download
What are some other RPG's you guys play on Android?
The Zenonia series was good, Dungeon Hunter 1 & 2 where good (3 sucks), order & chaos for a WoW like experience. Illusia was good as was destinia
Shifted from Outer Space
Spectral Souls, Inotia 3, Zenonia 4, Block Story, Wasted Land and Order and Chaos

Plus with my emulator I've been playing secret of mana, chrono trigger, etc

Fpse requires you to force mono core for some games to work. While a bios will provide more accurate emulation, I've found it considerably slower than running on software alone. Without using the BIOS file the emulator will revert to HLE, which can better use the hardware in your phone.
Final Fantasy III in the Play Store is great news. Anyone know if they will bring FF and FF II as well? I wish they'd hurry up and bring us a decent FFVI remake. I've given up holding my breath for an FFVII remake on any platform.

Interesting info about playing without bios. I always thought that quick saves wouldn't work without bios. Is that not correct? I always gotta click force mono core. I mostly play ff7 and ff9.

Man, can't tell if this is the best thing ever or the worst. It's all I've been doing all day long!!
Nice, it's a little spendy but worth the price for the high res if you're a final fantasy fan. I really hope they port the other games that they have released for iOS as well.

I think price will come down after a few months. I plan to buy it at the end of the month. Ports of the other games, yes we need that!

Why is this phone having trouble with emulators? Gameboid and n64oid having frequent slow downs.
My nexus s was far better than this? What is the reasoning?
I've had no problems with both. On N64oid I've been playing a lot of Zelda with no problems. Are you sure power saving is not enabled?

Because you are probably using the US version.

Yeah I am on sprint. I just got a software update too maybe that has something to with it?
But still the evo had the old dual core and the nexus had a single core and they pladyed the games fine
US version is bad compared to int. People were saying "they're equal in term of perfs" my friend has the us version and n64 emulation freeze a lot while I have no problem on my gs3 int.

T-Mobile here running AOKP and faux kernel. No slowdowns in any emulator.
So are you guys telling me that touchwiz is soooo bad that it is causing the emulator to slowdown or is there a technical glitch in my phone? I really wanted to play n64 games on this big screen phone:silly:

There's NOTHING like the classics That's why
Because a game like Zelda can never be found on the play store or the pure nostalgia of Mario 64 cant be rejuvenated from app games. Anyways, is my only option is to root and get rid of touchwiz?
O btw, nintendo 64 was 64 bit : p

I had frequent slow-downs on n64oid as well when on stock and i have an int' phone. I didn't try it on asop or cm9 yet but lets put it like this, i did not have these same slow downs on my htc desire z/g2. Touchwiz is the culprit no doubt.

I've got the international S3
I'm having the same problem with the Verizon version of the galaxy s3. I have found that if you disable the sound than it works perfectly with no lagging.
Ya I figured out I t works good without sound but Zelda has some pretty epic soundtrack
How hard is the root for this phone? Evo 3d was a nightmare!

XDA DEVS are the most talented guys in the Planet when it comes for Android platform,i know that a lot of Devs have been creating such amazing apps and mods for years, so it comes to mind that they created a lot of GBA emulators and Atari consoles emulators on Android devices but why not the PSP?? i strongly think that THE GALAXY S3 can HANDLE "Any" Psp game because of obvious reasons Ram-QuadCore Processor HD display-Battery life-Etc!!Please Any thoughts speak your mind below. Thanks guys!
i have a galaxy s3 and if i have a psp emulator for it ... i think i am never going to sell it
untill ps2 or ps vita emulator comes out ... and mah device cant handel it ....

It would be awesome if we could play patapon on our S3! ^^
This would be near impossible as no PSP games support multi-core functionality. Also, to emulate a key part of an OS is ridiculous. Even if they did make it work, it will run extremely slowly. Most emulators require at least 6-10 times the processing power of the original device. If you took the PSP-1000 (Phat PSP) which is 333MHz, and multiplied it by 6-10, you need a single core running at least 2GHz to 3.3GHz.

Umm no. Not any time soon. There isn't even a pc emulator for the psp around and no one seems interested mostly because every subsequent psp game comes with a higher firmware requirement which would be a pain in the ass for devs to crack every time.
