Hi to all,
I'm looking for a new tablet but don't now which is the best for a reasonable price.
I'm owning a Flytouch 3 but can't get used to the resistive screen (i'm used to the capacitive screen of my HTC Desire-S)
So my question , wich one is the best , cheapest and of course can be rooted ?
Nook colour looks promising, Very reasonable price,
Has its own XDA section too

Nobody else got one ? strange , am i in the wrong section here ?
Its just your question is more of a personal choice thing. I have the Asus Tf. To me its a good tablet at a decent price, but to another person it might not be. If you're able go to a place that carry a few different brand and play with them.
baseballfanz is right its a personally opinion. Me personally I like the HTC Flyer. I have and EVO 4G and I am a sense junkie so it fits me. Price isn't too bad either. like $599.99 plus tax for one without a contract. Its not very big only 8" i think but thats big enough for me.
I'm looking for one to, which is better Samsung or HTC?
advent vega
i have a advent vega good cheap tablet got mine rooted and running android 3.1 and as far as i am aware it can run android 3.3 so go for that
pcpro.co.uk/reviews/smartphones/363172/advent-vega
from the above website
The Advent Vega is one of the more interesting tablets to appear in the run-up to Christmas. Priced at £250 inc VAT and sold exclusively through Dixons Group stores such as PC World, it includes a 10.1in capacitive touchscreen, a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra processor, 512MB of RAM and, crucially, Android 2.2.
I recommend the Asus EEE Transformer. It gets Android updates faster than any other device I've ever seen. It's responsive, and if you buy the dock keyboard, it has full SD and USB support. Without it, you still get a MicroSD slot and HDMI. Honestly, best featured tablet I've ever seen. I switched from my iPad for it.
if you must have a sd slot, get the motorola xoom, it's been rated as one of the best tablet, but if you dont need the sd slot, go for the galaxy tab 10.1.
i'm considering either the galaxy tab 10.1 or 8.9, both out at the moment, or wait for the galaxy tab 7.7, i have till end of december to decide.
the chances is, it should be the galaxy tab 7.7, because of the super amoled plus screen and built in sd slot that i want.
I have been looking at Tablets for literally a month and I havent made up my mind yet. I was originally looking at the Thrive, but changed my mind since it is really flimsy. Then I thought about getting the transformer but realized its really only huge sell point(to me) was the keyboard, which I wouldnt be getting. Then I was completely sold on the Xoom, and I almost bought it but decided to wait.. 2 days after waiting I starting looking at the 10.1 galaxy tab. So now Im torn between the Xoom and galaxy tab. Any advice would be real nice. I like that google bought moto, means the xoom will get updates sooner than any, but I like touchwiz(aside from the noticeable tag when changes pages). samsung has THE best screen out there and its thin and light. But the xoom is build more solidly and is more sturdy. They are like opposites while still being the same product so I am just stuck... lol
I've also have been looking for a while now and yesterday i ordered the motorola xoom , i've read a lot of reviews about a lot of tablets , and the xoom is still the best i think (will post if testing is done).I know motorla is working on a second xoom , but couldn't wait anymore
Hi guys i am looking to get a tablet for my wife for the holidays. its almost black Friday and there are so many on sale out there. My local shopko has the Coby MID7015 on sale for $99. I did some research and it looks like after some root work i could hav netflix and android maket working on this just fine. Is this my best bet for under 100? any one had/have one of these? any info would be great.
I was android tablet shopping about a month ago and I looked at a lot of different ones. Budget and premium were considered but it boiled down, for me, which one was going to be best supported now and in the future, along with build quality.
The nook color is what I went with and I got mine the weekend before the price drop (got my adjustment).
It is double what you want to spend but you can use the stock ROM, install Cyanogenmod, MIUI or even Ubuntu and these are easier to install than a desktop OS.
The nook tablet is the same form factor as the nook color so there is and will be lots of cases for it which is nice. And the caribiner lets you personalize your nook with charms or tassels or whatever.
Not knowing you or your wife I will add the nook has nice branding behind it and is easily understood by other people what the device is.

^^ BUMP ^^
So I thought I would resurrect this thread from the depths and put the question out there again.
Which is the best Android tablet to purchase at this time?
I've had my eyes on a refurbed Motorola Xoom from Newegg. Even though it's older it still seems to be a solid performer.
The Asus Transformer line has caught my eye. Love the idea of begin able to turn it into a netbook.
Suggestions from the community?
Do you think we'll see less manufacturers that we were hoping to see cases from release TF201 cases now that they will probably focus on the TF700?
I created this here instead of the QA forum sorry. Mod please move if you see this.

Depends on the form factor I'd imagine, are the dimensions of the device the same??

I'm just guessing of course, but I'd have to say right now no. This is a super hot selling tablet. No one can keep it in stock. everyone wants cases for them. The other tablet isn't even made yet. As we know by THIS release, they obviously don't make cases in anticipation of a release.
So - my guess is they'll make cases for the hottest selling Android tablet until there is demand for another kind of case.
Considering they have said the TF700 will be compatible with the Prime keyboard doc, I would imagine they have the same dimensions, or at least close enough that 99% of cases will be compatible for both.
It will be compatible with the Transformer Dock, so it should have the same form factor. So i think accessories and cases should be compatible as well.
But chill out about this tablet It was just a prototype doesnt have a name yet and ASUS said it could be several months before it arrives.
Hi guys!
Dilemma!
I've had the tab (P7500) for 4 months or so... And now someone has just given me an Asus transformer (wish it was the prime).
Any reasons I should keep the Tab or the Transformer?
My pros and cons list so far (in no particular order)
If I sell the Tab it'll go for more now then the transformer (its white and has 3g so spec wise slightly superior)
However, ever since we've had the, not used 3g.
Tab is slightly thinner and lighter..
Transformer has built HDMI out and SD slot
Transformer has ICS already (I'm using it to type this post)
So? Help? Please?

Depends wat u will use a tablet for mate. If its a media internet device then the tab with cm9 or aokp is fantastic.
But the tf has the dock and ports for a more rounded experience closer to a laptop. Although it isheavy, and kinda ugly

I always wanted the Transformer! I won the Tab at a games expo, so didn't buy it!
BUT i spent the last few hours with it (rooted etc...) And i think the Tab wins.
The screen seems far superior! Speakers are better! AOKP Build 27 is pretty awesome.
The tab is used for Flash/Youtube/Games.
The only thing i liked, on the transformer, was transferring files via sdcard.. and nandroid'ing on there!
I fell in love with the 10.1 without knowing it.
Why don't you keep both till ICS release, then you can compare if it's worth keeping, IMO I guess it's the best current solution since HC is pretty much childs play.
I love my TF101, but I am trying to see if maybe it would be worth it to jump to the prime.
Is it all that much better than the TF101?
Also if it is, where would you guys go to buy one of these?
i had the tf101 before getting the prime and i love it i think its worth it to uprgade
I wasn't sure because of the wireless issues. All better on New tablets?
