My aTrackDogSD tells me 14 apps have newer versions out but when It directs me to the appropriate market page for the app it just shows "open" "uninstall" NOT update. Where as it should prompt to update I have auto update enabled and the version in the market is newer than the version of my app. SO that meens I would have to uninstall each app then reinstall to acquire the newest version correct?

So after updating to the official 2.2 my market downgraded. Idk the version but I'm having some problems with seeing my downloaded apps. When downloading the go super fast but when I go to see what I've downloaded only the apps I've bought pop up? So my question. How can I get the newest market, without rooting? Thanks guys

Possible to change market version? I was able to install and update Vendetta Online. After it updates before the auctuall game loads it says it needs a different version of the android market.

is there a way to check for update for app installed from other source other than form market itself ? is there any app that will compare my current version and the market version to notify me about the latest update ?
If you haven't already check out appbrain in the market. its great at this and also suggests apps that other people installed with similar interests.

Can I run two versions of the same app on one phone?

No that's not possible.

What's the reason though?

I would think it would have to do with the app it self. For instance on windows I know if you change the extension on some files you can run duplicates. I think because you can't change that ( or know of a way) you can't run multiple applications.
Only very few apps can do this, such as OverSkreen (Floating Browser).

You can have two versions of the same app installed as long as the installed apks have different names but I don't think you can have both version running simultaneously.
I remember after installing an app update I downloaded from this forum having both the original and the updated apps on my phone though only the original version showed up in the app drawer. I had to manually uninstall the older version.
