OTA update don't complete when CWM is installed on the device!
Try to remove the CWM or Flash a fresh ROM and then try the OTA..
Sent from my Xperia Neo V

I don't wanna Flash it again :'(
BTW, How Can I remove CMW thak came with Night-Elf kernel?
Also, what this update about? I already have .587!

Just flashing a stock kernel won't affect your user and system data! And neither would OTA update..
But flashing a ROM would..
Sent from my Xperia Neo V

I know Flashing kernel will not affect my Save data but wasn't sure about Update
Thanks mate.

i don't understand... the bootlader is unlocked how can he receive an OTA update..!

I don't know and I was wondering too!

Receiving an OTA update is no issue! But updating the phone through it is..
Because phones are often bricked when people try to install the OTA update.. But many users have reported that installing the update is possible if you unlocked your device via test point method!
If you unlocked your device the official way, you will eventually end up bricking the phone!
Sent from my Xperia Neo V

I unlocked my Bootloader via Official method.
Thanks for the info and I will never think about updating my Neo via OTA.

No problem!
Many users have faced this problem of bricking their devices when doing OTA update..
Thought of passing that to you too!
Sent from my Xperia Neo V

I just hope someone upload a ftf file of this new update.

answer: I think you have unlocked bootloader..
you need to lock it using a ftf "Xperia_Relock_bootloader.ftf" using flash method. Find in this forum for the ftf or google.
after that perform the update..
thanks

then do it again, it should work since you didn't use official way to unlock your BL, judging by your signature, right?
p.s. read what poyensa wrote you about topic title. it should reflect essence of your problem.

Firmware Version 4.0.2.A.0.62
i need to downgrade this to .42 to continue rooting. can somebody give me a link to download ftf file for MT15a??

hm.. but update service will give him .62 not .42, right? or are you thinking on making prerooted image? hm now i got idea
@ prazadx: are you willing to do clean flash with pc companion or sony update service, then we'll instruct you how to make .62 .ftf, but it will be around 150MB after you zip it, wich you would need to upload..
then if your phone is sim-lock free your fastboot should be open, and it should accept prerooted .img.
even if your bootloader is locked i think it only matter for kernels.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
its here mate
Just flash this with flashtool (extract using winzip or eqivalent first to get the ftf), root using flashtool, update OTR, install cmw and you are fine.

I'm gonna perform this flashing with flashtool. all i need is to downgrade my current firmware to .42, so that i can root my device. also this is a sim lock free device with a locked bootloader.
is there any other way to root without downgrading??
also, thanks mate..
There are another way to root but you need to unlock your bootloader, sorry I cant put links, but if you search right here in this Forum "unlock bootloader" you would see the options to do that.
Definitly this way is the only you have without unlockink bl. Thats all the peoplo say because I cant flash .42 on mine....flashtool stop always before 100% I will format pc...i dont know what other thing can be.
Any suggestion??

No, there is no need to get update from PC companion, you can download and flash custom ROMS made by devs at XDA which are better, cleaner, faster and awesome
No, you will need CWM to install the ROM which will be in the form of .zip so you should not remove CWM

Uninstall cwm but keep the root and then do the OTA (over the air) then yoou will keep your root but if you update with pcc then you are losing your root, but if you update with CWM then you get an error cannot install the update, but mate this is already posted so why double?
learn to search buddy
remove CWM, leave root, it's been talked about that already, read few threads in general section.
EDIT: slow for a minute..

You won't recieve OTA updates if you unlock the bootloader using SE's tool
ie you cannot install if you unlock your bootloader, however your bootloader is locked so you can get official sony updates
Q.how do i know if the bootloader is unlocked?
quite easy, run either PCC or SEUS if it says that it can not recognize your phone bc you have a modified software then that means the bootloader has been unlocked.
Hey guys,
Im searching this forum and googling about removing/unstalling CWM recovery for Neo V but no luck even on thread where i learn how to install cwm.
Can i still get from help from you experts?

That means that bootloader has been unlocked official way(Sony dev. page)
Bootloaders un-officialy unlocked can be updated via PCC or SEUS.

As you unlocked your bootloader via testpoint, Your bootloader is patched. So SUS or PCcompanion detect is as locked only, also your DRM data is preserved so you can use the Sony's track Id and PlayNow apps. Connect you phone Via SUS / PC-companion and Enjoy the Stock ICS ,587.
Please hit thanks if I helped you
Why posting a new thread if you dont search ??
Please use search and open your mind!

Have you tried with Sony PC suite?
Anyway, you can always flash a ROM which is already carrying 4.0.4.
I havent tried this yet, im still at work. i bought this phone to play with rooting and flashing etc as i didnt want to brick my HOX (im a n00b)
I will download drivers etc tonight.
Thanks

As you're still on 2.3.7, I'd suggest you follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897826
Should be easy.
I made the mistake of upgrading to 4.0.4 (6.1.1.C.1.0) which didn't allow me to use the above. I had to downgrade to B.1.0, root, reupgrade the kernel to C.1.0 and only then flashing a ROM (I truly like Xperiance Lite 2.0, it doubled my battery time!).
