Yeah I had already ordered it and just got it today. I ordered the Vintage Brown version. It is absolutely beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice. I like it so much that I just ordered another in black. I figured they are being phased out so might as well get it while still available. Anyone looking for a great case should pick this up before they are all gone

I tried checking at frys.com and can't seem to find the case, got a link by any chance?
I went to my local Frys and they did not have it. They never heard of the case and could not find out in their system.

it is a hard case. 2 pieces top and bottom which snaps together
I don't believe I have ever seen a back plate / case quite like this.. Might not offer much protection but the retro gets a +1 in my book

I'm with you on liking the Gameboy one, but the 8bot controller has it's own cool factor. As to anyone asking about it working with the at&t, it appears it would, the front will not cover the buttons and the spen / volume / power are the same place on both versions.

Screw it, found one for under $4.00 shipped, ordered. I'll let you guys know in a month or two.
I ordered a holster from this ebay seller. He dosen't list it as fitting the ATT version of the note because they don't sell it there. But the case that came with the holder fit perfectly! It took 2 weeks to get to me in Toronto.

Thats an awesome timeline. However I think I picked a different vendor, I just picked the cheapest I saw since they are all coming from the same region and made in the same factory. Usually I order 3-5 cheap things when I get something from overseas so I forget about hat one order from HK that surpises me a month later and makes me say "OH YEA! I forgot about this!" Now lets find a game gear case.

Yea I will rarely use it, but sometimes there comes a time when a bigger case just isnt practical. Plus you its good to have a backup. I've broken otterbox commuters on more then one occasion.
Alright ladies and gents...here it is: the Otterbox Defender for the Galaxy Note!
It's big, but it's sturdy. You can see from one of the pictures that besides the two larger snap-locks, there are 8 other smaller locks around the device. The rubber isn't super-grippy, but it has a good feel. You can also see that the entire front is covered with the built-in screen protector!
If anybody wants more pictures, just let me know!

I pre-ordered mine when I got the email from them on 4 May saying that pre-orders have begun. I wasn't expecting anything to ship until the 16th, but I got the notification 2 days ago that my card was charged and that the case was shipping.
I guess I lucked out!
Otterbox has the defender case in stock. They just have not updated their website, 5 days later

No and no. I just called customer service and talked to a couple of reps. They stated the defender has been in stock as early as May 5th but the webmaster is obviously not on his/her job. If i was sales director at otterbox, i would not be pleased.
Edit. I just checked otterbox's website and it has been updated to in stock now.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll go place my order...
so, anyone who got this case already, how is the screen shield look? Otterbox has had issues with other phone models where the screen protector made an "oily" type residue on the phone screen...Plus, I have one of those expensive Moshi Screen protectors on the Note now, and it would be nice to leave it on there, since its absolutely smudge free, and crystal clear..

i felt the black note3 in store demo was much closer to leather feel. but the white note3 felt like 100% plastic. i still got the white one because of the color and my case will cover the back.

I'm confused. You want someone who works with an organic material like leather to make a tightly machined set of tiny clips on something that's normally at least 2mm thick and crumbles when dried?
Or do you want someone to glue a piece of split (like sliced thin) leather to a plastic back? Samsung painted on what they could while keeping the back as thin as is structurally sound.
Yes, real leather would be nice, but real leather won't do that, not unless you add some heft to the existing structure of the (or any) plastic back.

I am in the market for a new case and would like to see what other are using. I have used Spigen, UAG, Body Glove, Speck, Case-Mate, BoxWave, and others.
I generally don't like folio type cases but if you just have to let me know how great a specific case is working out let me know.
