I tried connecting my Samsung S3 to my computer and it doesn't connect. I tried debugging also and it doesn't connect. I uninstalled drivers, installed GS3 Toolkit and nothing is happening. I know there are related posts but those posts are not for i9300 they are for verizion, at&t, etc. What can I do to fix this problem? Can it be something with the ROM? I am running CM10 Paranoid Android.

Download driver.
Download SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface Driver v2.9.503.726
Restart your pc..
If not it should be test a different cable, tries to change usb port
if it is not test a different pc.....
CM10?
Do you happen to be using CM10, nightly? As found this to be the problem, while it worked with stock and even the Omega 26 build of JB, it does not work with CM10 nighties, as no matter what the "MTP USB Device driver" can not and will not install, what is interesting is the exact same driver worked less than 24 hours earlier with omega and did not require a reinstall, so my guess is CM10 has broken this support in the current builds.
What I'd like is a generic MTP driver to see if that works.

I have found the answser to this: After one year of troubleshooting, Done all the steps before like you mentioned and notthing happened too.
So I deciced to back-up my S3 to on a mini SD card. After that I gave the phone a factory reset. The phone reloaded and pushed the software again to the phone. If you make the phone factory default make sure you have a hotspot in the neaberhood so you can connect on to the wi-fi.
Why the phone get its software through Wi-FI or 3G to get its software again and Wi-Fi is faster:cyclops:
After the phone is back to factory default follow the instruction on the phone. It's just like you have the phone new out of the box . When that's its done connect it to your laptop/pc and start KIES or what programming your are using to sync your S3 with your laptop/PC and voila it connects and works and when you managed to set your bacp-up back from your S3 you can even see it back in the KIES program. Well dudes I hope this was help full.

I am owner of the Galaxy S2. I updated yesterday to SuperNexus Jelly Bean ROM, didn't liked it. I restored my device to CM9 which i was using for a month without any problems. Then it started, computer couldn't recognize the phone anymore. Its like that SuperNexus broke something i don't know. I reformatted my Win 7 Ultimate x64 and installed fresh new CM10 - but after all my computer and S2 don't like each other - USB device not recognized. Chaos. I asked my friend to come over just to test with his S2 (he's on stock ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4), and when i plug his phone into my computer, everything works flawlessly. I tried mounting in recovery, i tried with and without usb debugging, Odin doesn't find phone neither, tried updating drivers - no luck... Dialing *#7284" just gives me "connection problem or invalid MMI code". Need help on this please!
You can check THIS thread. The one HERE , and also THIS thread.
I've read them all, tried every advice, but phone still isn't reacting to anything. So my problem is that phone couldn't connect to a computer, well it connects but it states "USB device not recognized", it charges but that's all. Everything started with Custom ROM SuperNexus. I've done these steps so far:
1. Reformatted my computer OS, which is Windows 7 Ultimate x64
2. Downloaded CM10 over my phone, get into recovery --> factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, format system, install ROM, wipe cache, wipe factory
3. I tried on my computer, tried on my old computer with Win XP x86
4. My friend's Galaxy S2 is working like a charm with MY cable on MY computer, which makes me believe that there is some defectiveness in my phone
5. I tried cleaning MicroUSB port with tooth pick, ear-cleaning pick (or how do you call it), needle with some paper wrapped around it, tried blowing in it
6. I tried with different USB ports, front ones, USB 3.0 - still no luck
7. I tried flashing Wanamlite and Neat ROM-s, still the same problem
I'm using Airdroid now, but i really need to know what's the problem! I have already ordered a new parts on E-Bay and I'm having high hopes about that solution. Im not able to post link to E-bay item, but search it under Item Number: 150904945773. Any other advice is really highly appreciable. Thank you
Try downloading the Rom over WiFi, or Hardline instead. Have you tried a different USB Cable ? Also I'm not able to check that Ebay # right now.

OP, I'm hoping it works for you. You seem to be going in the right direction with your troubleshooting.
Well, i've downloaded this ROM (CM10) via WiFi, now i can do it over Airdroid too. But is there a way to flash Stock Original Samsung ICS in recovery? Or is it only available in Kies and Odin? I came across "Mobile Odin", do you guys have some experience with it, is it safe to use? How big are chances anyway that USB will work with stock ROM? Someone told me "your USB port on phone is OK, if it's charging it's not broken", so I'm thinking that it is not a hardware issue after all? And BTW i used several cables, and three different computers. My girlfriend have SGS3, i tried it like 2 hours ago with her cable on her computer with no luck (and of course her phone have no problems to connect to that computer using that cable). Thank you
I would try a Stock Rooted Rom, and see if that works correctly. If not try connecting the Device, and reboot the PC with the Device plugged in.
How to install stock ROM if i cannot get Kies or Odin to recognize phone? Via Mobile Odin?

Try USB solutions from My Android Solutions or Mobile Odin like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28302093&postcount=4789 ( procedure is same but written for Korean SGS 1
Guys let me tell you that I'm grateful to you, cause this Mobile Odin worked and my Stock Rooted ROM worked in connecting with PC. But not on first try when i got into a newly flashed Stock Rooted Firmware, i've let it to do his stuff, update what he needed to update blahblah. Then i tried to connect my cable - it didn't work. I cursed, i cursed so bad. Then i considered to give it another shot, rebooted the phone - and voila! Everything works, i tried 2-3 times and its working. Obviously SuperNexus started my problems, they couldn't be repaired by any other ROM i tried (i tried CM9, CM10, Wanamlite, old Wanamlite with MTP enabler, Neat ROM)... Then with Mobile Odin everything just worked. Dunno what really was the problem. Thank you all
Glad you got it sorted

I have the International (i9300) S3 and am running Temasek's ROM (v99.4), but I cannot connect it to my PC via USB. I am currently using AirDroid for all my Phone to PC transfers, but ADB is also not working and this will cause a problem in the future if I manage to brick my device. The only way to use ADB on my device currently is to boot into recovery (PhilZ Touch 5). This problem has been occurring for that last few months, but as I believe it is an isolated incident I didn't post about it. I decided to start this thread to see if anyone was having the same problem and to see if anyone found a work-around or fix for it.
Thanks in advance,
MiracleM4n
EDIT: Turns out it was my cord. For some reason the stock Samsung Micro-USB cable was not working correctly.
have you enabled debugging in developer options, or tried reinstalling all drivers
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I have reinstalled all drivers and I do have it enabled in Developers Options. It does not show up in Device Manager as "Other devices" so this leads me to believe that it might be an issue with the device itself.
I have tried reinstalling using drivers from Faryaab's thread and it is still not working. I believe this might be an issue I am going to have to live with.
Hello everyone. I have a problem with connecting my Samsung galaxy S3 (android 4.3) to any of my PCs. Before everything worked fine but then I upgraded to android 4.3 and connections started crashing. It still worked but connections were unstable. So I installed Samsung Kies 3 and from then on I haven't been able to connect my device to any PC. I tried everything I found on web. I have developer mode and usb debugging on. I know my cable is OK because other devices work just fine. Someone suggested going to usb settings but apparently there is no such think in android 4.3 settings, so I downloaded some apps to change my usb settings but they all require a rooted phone. I tried rooting my phone but even for that I need to connect it to a PC. I really need to connect my phone to PC to test apps(android emulator lags waaay too much). Does anyone know how to fix this please? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, so I found a few older threads on this, but no tips in them seem to work in my case. I can't seem to get my S4 to see the PC/USB connection and prompt to select Media Device or the like. The USB icon never even appears in the notification bar. The PC recognizes connection (USB tone sounds) and shows device ready to use, but phone never gives the option. Doesn't seem to matter if USB Debugging is checked or not, or anything else that I can find so far. Here's the things I can generally eliminate:
2 different USB cables worked on wife's S4 on two different PCs. Neither cable or PC worked with my S4
Tried reinstalling Samsung USB drivers just to be sure
Cold booted phone
Tried unchecking and re-checking USB debugging (also tried with it unchecked)
So when we take in working fine on wife's S4, I'd generally guess that we can eliminate cable and PC from the potential problem list. Phone is currently on stock rom, but rooted. Outside of that and freezing VZ Support, Knox, and VZ Tones, no other modifications to the OS. At this point, I'm pretty stumped. Any suggestions on other steps to try?
The problem is your USB settings in the hidden dialers. Look for tutorials on how to enable them, and once found, type *#0808#, and a list of usb otions will come up. Pick any with MTP and they'll work again.
Worked perfect. Thanks muchly!

Try installing/reinstalling Kies, it comes bundled with all the samsung drivers you'll need
Tried that. Twice. To no avail.
But it is no longer a problem. I installed eclipse rom and it now works again.
Who knows what went wrong...
And now it's not working again. Reinstalled (dirty) the ROM without any change. Thoughts?
Hello guys, I have this problem. Recently my apps stopped updating ( I think Playstore and Google Services updated and made that happening...idk) and couldn't access most apps, then began to restart 4/5 times in a day automatically, and couple of days later just showing the logo after turning on. So I decided to update the OS but as it's rooted it wont let me. I used to have 4.3 version (don't the name, maybe Pineapple Pizza) so I decided to start from scratch after backing up everything, took note of version in my country, efs, etc). Made a wipe clean through TeamWin, and with Odin tried to make a new install ( Stock).
Unfortunately when connecting to my pc can't recognize device "“USB device not recognized”.
I tried cleaning USB connector with dried toothbrush, other ports in the back. With other 2 computers and same result.
Installed Kies but didn´t work, unistalled Kies and tried latest versions of drivers for windows 7, same result. Tried Samsung latest drivers ( older ones), didn't work either. I have tested other devices in the USB ports and they all work fine. I thought it might be that I didn't selected "USB debugging mode" before the wipe clean...or it wasn't a Wipe Clean at all...(?).
I checked most of simmilar problems in the forum, but I couldn't find a solution, sincne I can't even access my phone.
So, Im here with my oldie S3 in some kind of "limbo"
Any ideas that might help?
Thank you very much in advance! and sorry if Im posting in an incorrect forum.
