Meh, wrong forum.
Oh, by the way, all you need to do is get on recovery mode (volume up & down plus lock) and clear data/factory reset.

Worst case you might have to get into download mode and re-flash. I had a situation like yours that wouldn't let me get into recovery.

Didn't we help you fix this problem before? Why are you still trying to flash the phone using Odin? When you got it fixed the first time it should of had CWM on it. After that you should of never used odin for flashing again. That is how you got the triangle again. I think the best bet for you is to find someone in your area that has experience with android phones and have them fix it for you.

We do like helping fellow geeks. The problem is that there is nothing we can tell you to do that is not already documented in the stickies. That is why I suggested you find someone local to you that can help you. Without physically having your phone in front of us, we can only speculate on what is going on.

Take it easy, OP. Learn your lesson. That's all you need.
Also, don't open more than one thread with the same content.
Have you followed step by step return to stock thread?
How far does it go?
ok i got it back to stock but now the wifi doesnt work
You really, really need to search for stuff. This is already discussed in a few threads. But to spoon feed you. Just got back into recovery and do a factory wipe. Should work fine afterwards.

No. your sdcard is fine.
What were you attempting to flash and what version of cwm recovery do you have?
P.S. In the future when you post about a failed flash please include the following information - what firmware you are currently running whether it is stock or one of the custom roms and which kernel you are running, and most importantly include what it is you are trying to flash - this will really help anyone who is going to try and help you out.

I have the XSG region (uae) model of the S3 9300 and i've had it for over a week by now, I've successfully rooted it without a problem and i love the phone. However, when i comes to installing custom roms that supposedly improve performance and battery life, it's not working out for me.
So far I've tried the Cyanogen mod and the liquidsmooth mod, using odin. With both of those i repeatedly tried installing them and i even wiped the cache and data, but they just end up sitting there at the boot screen, as if i did all this just to stare at a logo! why the hell don't they work?????????????? help please,

If it is GT-I9300, indeed it is an international model (if it is not faked ).
You should be able to, for instance via CWM or Mobile Odin (to keep root), flash a custom rom. Try to do a factory reset wipe/data wipe and install the rom again. For some roms you also might do a "fix permissions" from your custom recovery after you flashed it (but before you restart the phone).
Looks like you are trying to flash zip files in Odin.
STOP NOW!
Ok note we have sorted that, and before you do anything else, take a step back, and do some reading and learning, starting with the rollup sticky at the top of the general thread.

Rule two is backup your EFS folder before flashing instead of crying later .

Tl;dr install with mobile odin or clockwork recovery to install ZIP files (most ROMs come in this, also don't extract it), use dekstop odin to install tar files
Ok fair enough, thanks all for the help so far, I'll do a bit of reading then try again. I've had an Iphone for over 2 years that I jailbroke and used from day one. This phone is so much cooler however, I look forward to exploring the improved possibilities..
Ok that's it then, seems the only way something like this MAY work is by wiping the phone clean and starting over, something very inconvenient for my to do.. If down the line I ever get another phone I will try it then, it has been a headache trying it on this one. I decided to give it one more try yesterday after backing up everything, I used titanium backup and also made a back up in recovery mode, I tried fixing permissions after installing the latest cyanogen mod but it didn't make a difference, it just sat at the stupid boot screen, making my phone warm.. I suppose it's okay if one needs a hand warmer!
My woes did not end there however, as I assumed that since I made a backup i could just restore the phone to the way it was. That did not exactly happen unfortunately, clockwork mod restored the system and image just fine, but when it was restoring data it kept stopping at one file and giving me an "error restoring data" bull****. Great, so I boot the phone and now most of the apps don't work and just crash when I try to run them, the only way to fix them is by uninstalling and then re–installing them one by one! Very inconvenient! And to top it off avast told me I have several "problems" found, I assume that is those apps.
So there it is, I shouldn't have done that to my phone yesterday, it worked beautifully until that point, and I was using nobloat to get rid of the unnecessary stuff, make a rom flash pointless, but I was curious.. And there you go, that is my story, I thank you all for trying to help, and I appreciate it really, but I'm done with this nightmare, at least on this phone i am.
Peace
Ok a quick update:
After repeatedly having an occasional issue with the phone, I decided to go for it one more time, this time I followed your advice to the letter, and I'm happy to report that it Worked! I've installed the liquidsmooth Rom and it works great, except for a few issues which I'll talk about in another more relevant thread. Just wanted to say, I apologize for my earlier posts, I was at my wits end at the time!
Since the custom Rom issue has been resolved, I shall lay this thread to rest and hope others learn from it.
Peace.

You might give some more info on what all you did or what file you were trying to flash....
Sounds like the problem of Gingerbread root on ICS system, or vice-versa. Just redo your work, ensuring you use the appropriate file for your system.
By the way, NEVER tweak your system until you learn to move important stuff to your external sd card or pc.

Really? I think the best advice was rangercaptain's advice followed by crixley. OP was using odin which means he was trying to install a rooted kernel most likely from a different android version or he was installing CWM. So I highly doubt he has CWM installed and functioning. So how is he going to boot into CWM??
Well I guess I thought he followed the proper instructions and installed cwm first. I admittedly skimmed most of the posts.

Then I was going to use Liquid-JB-v2.0-RC8-d2att.zip, but used the wrong gapps (Google Apps) file, gapps-jb-20120726-signed, instead of Liquid-JB-v2.0-RC8-gapps. Now, I have a black screen, and on my Mac, the thing just connects and reconnects all by itself! Can I get out of this, if I can't get to a restore screen?

JTAG service costs $50, takes a week, and restores a phone that cannot enter recovery, or download mode, or isn't recognised by a computer.

Hello everyone,
So there is the problem, I would to flash stock rom but before doing that I would backup my current ROM.
So I got several version of cwm and when I started them from the stock recovery, it says
"E:signature verification failed
Signature verification failed
Installation aborted"
Then, I decided to skip this step but when I do VOL-+HOME+POWER it load the factory test instead of Download Mode.
What should I do???plz:crying:
thanks a lot
Questions go to Q&A section. Download mod is accessed by entering Volume+, Volume- and power. Home button isn't needed.

If you made or tried to make backups I'm asuming you are using Rom manager, or something like that at least. Make sure that if you you are using that that you configured the 'recovery setup' to the Version of cwm you have. Also, You can try to install the Rom manager app and hit 'Reboot into Recovery' option.
Hope this helps you out a bit. Good luck

This is my first post on XDA.
I seem to have soft bricked my GP4.
I was running PAC-ROM CM10.0 (4.1.2) and trying to upgrade to CM11 (cm-11-20140323-UNOFFICIAL-ypg1). I loaded the ROM and gapps on the external SD card and used CWM 6.0.2.8 to make a backup, wipe cache, system, and data, and at that point I accidently rebooted so I forced shutdown, booted into recovery again, wiped again and installed the ROM.
For some reason , after the second install, the CM signup screen appeared. After I filled everything, I tried to reboot but I can't get to either the android or recovery. Either attempt (boot or boot to recovery)results in the same thing: a screen saying "Samsung" followed by one saying "Galaxy S Cyanogenmod" followed by the screen saying "Samsung" again - where it stays until I pull the battery. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I've successfully installed KK ROMs on my GP5 and Galaxy Nexus.
I can get to the Download screen.
My backup isn't much use unless I can get to recovery.
Any suggestions for my next move?

If you can't get into recovery then you are going to have to flash back to stock. What happens when try to get into CWM?. If it shows the Samsung logo 3 times in a row then that is normal and you just have to wait till it boots. I reinstalled KK being careful to follow all directions, but the result was another soft brick. The next time i figured it out. I had been using the directions under:" If coming from a Pre-LVM build: (ALL builds before 28/12 as well as CM10.1, CM10.2)", since I was coming from 10.1.
I finally used the directions for: "If Coming from an LVM Build" and it worked.

Sorry for the late reply. I used the directions in the following "How-to-Geek" article to disable driver signature verification. I don't believe that the change is permanent.
http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
Using this thread because it's pretty relevant to what I need... All the files for the US version are in the link, and I've downloaded and followed the driver instructions, but when I press the flash button, it throws and error and shows the PC and Kies screen on the player.
Am I doing something wrong?
Take a picture of your devics 's screen because you shouldn't get any error doing this unless the drivers aren't being install correctly.
