[Q] Multiple SMS recipients - new convesations - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I send an SMS to more than one recipient the sent SMSs are saved to a new conversation, not to the individual recipents. When they reply to me their messages are added to the bottom of their individual conversations, not to the new one.
Other than only sending messages to one person at once, is there any way to get the sent messages to save to the conversations for the people they've been sent to, not to a new conversation?
I'm running CM10

[Q] text message question

is there a way I can keep my outgoing text messages from going out in parts, just as one whole message, kind of annoying when I get them that way and my friends always hassle me about it because they dont always get the messages in the correct order lol
Thanks in advance
You can't send messages larger than 160 characters via SMS. You would need to send via MMS which is an option depending on what messaging application you are using.
The reason your messages are sending out of order is because Sprint is notoriously bad about that. I wonder if that works better with Google Voice?

How do you send text-only group MMS?

As you all know, Android lacks the ability to receive group text from iPhone users under one single thread. iPhone users can text a multiple users using MMS, and all the replies from all recipients will appear under one "group MMS" thread. For Android users, each individual message in the conversation appears under the contact that sends it, not under a group thread. As a result, my SGS2 can't "reply all" to everybody who is on the original list of recipients.
This is a problem for me as I group text a lot and most of my friends are iPhone users.
I was a dumbphone user right until I got my SGS2 a month ago. I manage to tackle this problem with my dumbphone because it can "reply-all" to MMS messages.
I can't seem to find this option on the SGS2. Anyone got any pointers? Is it possible to send a text only MMS message to multiple contacts?
Reply All to iPhone group texts
I use GO SMS so this may not work in the stock Messaging app.
When I receive an iPhone group text (=Group MMS), I do the following:
(1) Create a new text-only message
(2) Manually key in all the contacts from the group text
(3) Add a subject (e.g. "X") to convert the text-only message into a Group MMS
iPhone users will receive your Group MMS in the same group text thread that everyone else is on, plus the additional "X" subject line. As you already know, without the subject, your text-only message will be sent out as SMS messages to each individual and the iPhone users will not see it in the group text thread.
Until Android Issue 24468 (google it) is resolved, this manual method is the only way I know of how to Reply All to iPhone group texts from an Android phone.
Hope that helps.
p.s. SGS2 is amazing.

[Q] Group Threaded SMS?

Not really sure if that's what it is called.
Problem
All my friends have iPhones except me (of course). I am part of their group text conversion, when they text, everyone in the group gets it, including me but I can only text back that specific person who sent the original message and not the group as a whole. The only way I can text them all is to start a new text thread, add everyone and send but still they only receive it as a individual text. I basically want to be in the group threaded text.

[Q] question on receiving mms msgs with multiple recipients in handcent

Hey everyone, when I receive an mms in handcent that has multiple recipients, it doesn't show that it was sent to a group of people.. its sent like it was only sent to me. So when I reply, it only goes back to one the original sender and not out to everyone.
Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is this just the way handcent handles these types of messages?
Thanks everyone.

Well engineered bulk SMS app with rate limiting and per-recipient delivery reports?

Hello. Very frustrating afternoon trying to find a decent SMS app.
Any suggestions for an app that can do the following?
send multipart SMS messages
to lists of multiple recipients (as individual SMS messages, not group MMS)
incorporate appropriate delays to avoid hitting Android SMS rate limits
show in real time the status of each recipient:
not sent
sent but not delivered
delivered
error.
Thanks!
