Can anyone tell me about the different governor in no frills or set CPU.
I use Franco's 14.2.2 kernel with zram in mik's rom.
I want to knw about savegedzen, interactivex and smartass.

Setcpu runs in background, while no frills sets the frequencies and exits.

I m not asking about no frills or setcpu... I wanna know about the governors
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
- InteractiveX is a governor based on the original interactive plus some tweaks and improvements and a sleep+awake profile, meaning you don't need to set up manual profiles, it will lock at your minimum frequency during screen off.
- SavagedZen is a governor based on the original interactive and smartass. It just works differently than InteractiveX and has a sleep+awake profile, meaning you don't need to set up manual profiles, it will lock at your minimum frequency during screen off
From franco First Page.
So they're all the same??

Not really. For example my phone works better with interactivex than ondemand or smartass.

EDIT: whoops, really sorry! didn't read your post carefully enough - I thought you were asking about the default governors... my bad!
LOL http://lmgtfy.com so funny
I was wondering.
If this phones GPU can be overclocked via some kind of Special App?
That would be awesome

glitch kernel. GPU clock is tied to bus speed so you can't over clock the Gpu without overclocking the CPU.

Dear all,
I have found a strange problem in the official release of Galaxy S II ICS ROM XXLPQ. When on Developer Options you check the "Force GPU Rendering" You cannot change the wallpaper of your home screen. Gallery Crashes all the time. Only Live Wallpaper can be used. Has anyone came across this problem.
Also please advise how to fix it?

Disable gpu rendering, change wallpaper, then enable it back?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I am doing it right now but its shouldn't be a normal practise. It Is irritating. There must be a fix.

With it enabled it just crash alot of stuff, apps not optimized for it yet obviously. Better off disabling it

Rom toolbox is very good
SETCPU
Antutu Cpu Master is pretty good, no issues. Tried Set CPU would experience reboots when stressing webtop out.
Is anyone else experiencing a lot of stuttering/lag on holo launcher? I have the player 4.2 and it is extremely slow, but I see that people with lower spec devices than mine, and similar spec devices have little to no lag at all. Does anyone know of a solution to make it at least look not as laggy? I've tried changing many settings involving scrolling cache and stuff like that for scrolling, but it doesn't help much. If there are any tweaks I can do then please let me know, thanks
Holo on GB is slow. Use apex or adw

Yeah but I've seen lower spec devices on GB with no lag...

Maybe you have to many apps and or too many processes running in the background

I've cleared up RAM to at least 200 MB free

Tweak the settings within holo launcher. That's what I did and it runs fine.

In my experience add is slower and cause more lag than holo and apex is about the same

What settings did you tweak? And I'm guessing since our devices are different then each launcher runs differently

I just tweaked the scrolling speed to 80 and set scrolling cache to high. I also kept the launcher in memory. I got this app called auto memory manage and set it like this going down the six options 40 70 100 160 170 180

It feels a bit smoother, but still is choppy a little, but thanks!

Maybe it's stupid for you but clear ram does not give a boost of performance always. Can do the opposite because lots of apps (like facebook, gmail, messenger, whatsapp...) will restart after the clear making a very high cpu consumption and filling ram another time. You can try an app called greenify to prevent that user apps could restart without you allow them. If you're more experienced user tou can try autostarts.
But anyway, holo in gb with our hardware is not so fast, I think it requires a lot of cpu/gpu rendering.

Oh I see you're an advanced user so my explanation would not help so much I think...

Greenify only works starting android 4.x. Also in android 4.x, the OS requires gpu acceleration if it want to operate normaly.
No problem and you are welcome.

Oh I didn't know that greenify don't work with GB. Anyway I used to use autostarts with gingerbread. But without hardware acceleration holo don't works so bad.

We don't have an OC kernel yet
Lol you don't have to oc it. Just set the min to like 200mhz or 400mhz. And if you can use smart*ss v2 for scaling

I'll set the min to one of those but we don't even have governors other than performance, ondemand etc
Lol dang it. I guess use on demand then.
