Does anyone know if there's a way to do automatic prepend on the GSM Hero? I'm in Canada with the Telus Hero. My issue is that if I dial a 10-digit number (aka 905-555-1234,) the call goes through. However, dialing 1-905-555-1234 will give me a busy signal. Putting a "+" in front makes it work, ie. +1-905-555-1234. This wouldn't be an issue, except that when calls come in, the history shows it in the 1-905-555-1234 format, so if I try and click the call history to call someone back, it doesn't work. I'd like to automatically add the "+" sign to the beginning of any number dialed. Anyone?
Also, I've got Telus looking into the matter, but since I've got a custom ROM on there (Modoco) I'm thinking it could be the phone, since these ROMs are primarily customized and tested on European numbers.
Bump, I'd like to know how to automaticly prepend 1 in front of all the #'s, for long distance calls.
Thanks
Is there any way to turn my cell phone into an auto dialer?
Somehow have maybe an excel file loaded with names and numbers (scrubbed against a do not call list)
Plug that list into the dialer and the cell keeps dialing numbers.
When someone picks up a screen pops up either on a pc or the phone that displays the persons name and phone number with the ability to write notes.
After the call maybe hit a button and the process picks up where it left off.
I know a ton of people who would pay for something like this.

What is it with cell phones and dial tones? Why is it that sometimes when I'm typing in a number the dial tones lag behind or go one for 1-2 full seconds? This isn't rocket science or at least it shouldn't be. What's so damn hard about having it such that when the user pressing on say #3 the dialtone is immediately (and I mean immediately) sounded and 3 is registered into the phone and the user is set to enter the next number?!? There should be no delay for the dialtone to sound or to stop or for the number to not be immediately registered!!! I thought this was a silly WinMo thing but it happens on Android too. What's the deal? Shouldn't typing in phone numbers be instantaneous?!?
Can't say this has ever happened to me before on Android but I also turn my dial tones off. I did have it happen on winmo but only with tons of apps running in the background. Never really been in such a rush to dial a number either though lol
I gotta say I have the same issue with the Hero. It LAGS big time. At this stage of the game with phones, you should be able to dial #s effortlessly. BIG disappointment that Android out of the box lacks the power to dial #s effortlessly.
I've had my S3 for about a month and 4 times now I've discovered my phone isn't connected to my mobile service provider (Telus in Canada). Notifications will say "No Service" and it means no phone calls, messages or data at random times and it stays that way until I notice it and reboot. There is no logical reason why this should ever happen, I never leave the service area and all the settings for Mobile Network remain set to Telus. When this happens there's no way to fix the connection through settings, have to restart the phone.
I have a second issue that is also very frustrating - whenever I call my voice mail I have to input my passcode. So I place the phone down in my lap, enable the keypad and attempt to enter it. As soon as I touch the keypad the screen often just blanks out and no touch is registered. It's as if a proximity sensor thinks the phone is still by my ear and disables the screen. So this makes it extremely difficult to enter anything via keypad.
Any ideas on what could be causing this no service issue - a faulty phone or could it be related to a bad SIM card?
Try switching your modem.
