Hey guys, I just checked out this script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
It's v6 Supercharger... works for xperia arc, too. The device is now more responive and has less lag. Give it a try.

@NeoCream; wich settings did you use?
I just installed option 4 and everything seems to work like it should. Dont feel any different so far but this is really interestning, please share your findings.

before I installed the script (with option 3) I had AutoKiller Memory Optimizer installed. I removed the app and just let the script handle the memory.
The system feels as fluid as with the app but the script does not force my launcher (GO Launcher EX) to redraw the icons in certain situations. Scrolling and everything works as good as with the AutoKiller Memory App... just without the nasty side-effect e.g. re-drawing launcher-icons.

niceee. thanks for sharing. using option 8 512mb megaram with the 100mb cut off not the 125 one. I used the autotask killer or whatever it was and it kept redrawing the launcher..doesnt happen anymore! very lovely.

and without this script.
Hi there , when I tried to install V6 Supercharger , it requires Busybox 1.18.2 OR LOWER but how do we get a previous version of that app ?
Open up Busy Box and you should see on the top of the page a drop down menu where you can chose which version of busy box you want to install. After selecting your version of choice just hit the install button!
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
When you say open up busy box , do you mean in the market ? or do i have to download it then open up ?
When you have Busy Box installed it should show up in the app drawer (where you have all your other apps).
Just launch it from there.
works like a charm. noticeable less lag after running script. Thanks!
What settings do you guys exactly use? And which fits best for the Arc?
And does it remove the ability to do OTA updates like removing system apps?

The app is actually called 'Busybox installer' download it from the market and then after it has been installed, open it then click the drop down list at the top then choose the version of busybox you want to install. This app will download and install the version of busybox you want
just annoying, can't get it to work
installed busybox 1.18.1 (via busybox installer)
Script manager installed from market
V6 script in root of SD card
In script manager only checked: browse as root
Open V6 turbo....txt and checked only run as root
set 1 (for scrolling text) and after this option 6
after this chosen option 17 (exit)
reboot phone. when I want to check if it works fine and open Script manager again, V6 turbo.txt with only run as root checked, nothing has changed. I have to choose scrolling text value again
Someone see what I do wrong?
Kind regards
Vintiem
It works great .. Really can feel the difference ..
Thanks NeoCream
Has anyone tried the SuperCharger in the thread below on the TFP? Was wondering if it would make a difference or only really matters on devices with lower RAM to start with. Any thoughts?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
I tried it a while back...works, but doesn't yet integrate well with ICS, as it does on Gingerbread.
Fine for ICS... go to android.mimic.ca and supercharge your services.jar and set permissions

Interesting haven't seen that site before ... so basically go to the thread I listed in the OP, install the script, fun the ICS compatibility steps, then go to the site you listed and patch the services.jar file? Might have to try this, wish there were some real benchmarks out there to see what gains it gives.

Yeah it`s all explained in post 2 of the supercharger thread.
Install script, grab the patched services.jar, do step 8 (set permissions) of the tutorial in post 2

Nah... I`m stalking you LOL
Ok ... Ran the script, selected all recommendations, clean/rebooted, patched the services.jar, clean and rebooted, ran supercharger script again, now says I'm 100% supercharged.
Couple of questions at this point:
1.) Do I have to run the script every boot or periodically, or is it automated? I did this all with terminal emulator, didn't use the ScriptManager.
2.) There are a lot of options in the menu list( great to have options ) Anything else I should be doing in those options for selections above what is run by the script automatically( I did run the emisions to fix permissions just in case ).
3.) Not sure how to disable the two excepts from the OP in the script thread below on AOKP( or any other ROM before, never heard of these )
Code:
If you are using compcache and have lag or slow down after SuperCharging,
DISABLE compache, wipe caches and re-enable it.
Also make sure to uncheck/disable lock home in memory! (and leave it unchecked)
4.) How do I verify everything is all set, and running correctly after a reboot( or any other time I need )
5.) Does anything else have to be scheduled to run periodically? Does ScriptManager do scheduling, or do I have to add a cronjob or something.
Thanks for this, really thanks ... Look forward to testing the performance differences and letting fellow Prime users know what a great job the script dev did
EDIT: Script also says that I should use 1000HP but SuperWinFree Calculator Values are set so I'm "ok" should I enable the 1000HP settings from the script option to get better performance? Really want to milk what I can from this
If it was 100% supercharged without running 99supercharger manually, then it`s all set.
On ICS there is no lock home in memory option so don`t worry about that.
Same thing if you aren`t using compcache or zram.
You can verify everything just by running the V6 script just like you did before.
Script manager does do scheduling.. many do the detailing and engine flush and fix emissions via SM schedule.
You can go more aggressive but it may not bring any added benefit and only serve to unnecessarily hamper multitasking.
Just test with more aggressive and see if it`s snappier or not... though it likely won`t be lol

Hell, that is way too complicated especially for a stock odexed rom. So many steps and I don't have cwm. Otherwise it looks like it is worthwhile.
no need for CWM.
Maybe you can try deodexing the rom and use the mimic site.
Just leave it deodexed.
Or flash a custom rom

So Do you mean the below ??
- deodexed the services.odex
- Drop the classes.dex to services.jar then upload it to mimic site.
- Download the modified services.jar file to /system/framework.
Will it work?
It is really pain my ass to go though all steps for the odexed ROMS.
Have anyone had a script or a simple step to modify the services.odex ??
I believe it is in WSG.07 I'm not sure though

That thread with the instructions is too poorly written....It's an assault of random words, some underlined, some bonded, some underlined and bolded with different font sizes. Can a normal human actually read through it and understand it? Jesus christ!
But it is included with the wsg rom.
@zeppelinrox
Thanks for the work. So basically this script changes Android's auto mem mgr (AMM) default minfree values, which are six numbers in /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree. Is that correct?
You mentioned empirical testing for your chosen values for the Milestone. How do you determine what is optimal for any given device? Do you simply take percentages of the total available RAM?
For the DIY'ers, is your script the same as putting the below two commands into an auto-start script, using Script Manager?
echo "A,B,C,D,E,F" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
where A,B,C,D,E,F are "kill thresholds" set for each of six priority groups. Note: Values are in 4KB pages, so divide by 256 to convert to megabytes.
/system/bin/compcache stop

I didn't rehash anything.
I made a totally new wheel.
Nobody else has thought to rearrange the adjs grouping limits, ADJ priorities so that some items are more important than others and all that is in conjuction with minfree values.
Minfree values is secondary.
AKMO or AMM or other Minfree managers have always done that.
That's only the gas.
I rebuilt the engine.

Yes, you aren't the only person that failed the comprehension test.
I don't want dumb people using my script to break their phones.
You're welcome.
>Nobody else has thought to rearrange the adjs grouping limits, ADJ priorities so that some items are more important than others and all that is in conjuction with minfree values.
Thanks for the note. I've skimmed through your script, and saw that you also write out the ADJ file (along with some other minor tweaks). Linux mem use isn't my forte, but the below explains it simply enough.
http://www.cs.fsu.edu/~baker/device...x/drivers/staging/android/lowmemorykiller.txt
Rather than asking for further specifics, I'll just parse through the script. It's not complicated.

Thanks also for demonstrating your maturity level.

i dont have the file which he mentioned.
The line "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" in /data/local.prop also keeps home in memory - it has the same effect as CM's "Lock Home In Memory".
So in light of what I was seeing in AMM, I have changed it to 0 so it now reads:
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=0
(blank line)
I'm using Sony JB stock rom.

if you have batterysaver / rambooster, it will kill apps ,, you need to add important apps to whitelist/ignore list to prevent them from being closed
Cleans up the notification area, and much more
You could configure which apps are allowed to create notifications in the top left area, the notification area. If an app creates a notification it will be collected and added to the list.
You could deny all notifications of an app or only specific messages - if it's not a customized notification. So I used it to hide "waiting for connection", but not "you are connected".
Changed settings are applied after a reboot!
With a donation you supports this app and get more options.
Important:
This app needs the Xposed Framework. The framework requires root access for installation. Don't forget to enable the module in Xposed. You can grab it here: Xposed Installer
Donation:
No self-promotion in the app.
Per app: Hide icon in status bar (collapsed notification area)
Per app: Show notification expanded by default (API>15)
Per app: Order of notifications (move up/down in the list)

I have a file named "Xposed-Disabler-cwm.zip" on my sd card. (I believe I downloaded it along with the main Xposed app)
If, due to a module, I get into a boot loop issue etc., which I have...then I simply boot into recovery (without a pc) and run this zip. Boom. All modules are temporarily disabled. :good:

I have Xposed-Disabler-cwm.zip too, dated to 10.10.2013, Xposed installer creates it. But now you know to en-/disable without sdcard
@flexxoo As i wrote in the OP also LBE has such an option. But i dont like it to get additional an adblocker, virusscanner, firewall, traffic counte etc bundled. All these additional features consumes memory, uses the cpu and drain your battery.
Maybe you should first try the app before you blame. Then you would also know that you do not have to donate to block notifications

Sadly it does not seem to work.

Running AOKP 4.2.2 by Maclaw on a S3 Mini
All other Xposed Stuff works fine.
[Edit]
Disregard it. Actually rebooted twice when i wrote this. After a third reboot its working now
Great App, thanks a lot.
Works like a charm. Thanks for the module.
I would tend to want the red color for ALL, and something "weaker" for individual notifications.

Different sources for both
1) The log entries are taken from debug.log of xposed
2) The database with notifications is updated by the hook every time a new one is detected (no more write access as needed), the app itself reads the file.
But the app has to create the file to get the app's permissions&owner, the hook does not creates it because the app could not read it later due to missing permissions. So the new notifications could not written, but are logged.
I add it to the 1st post
When removing the notification does it remove the service or just the icon in the task bar?
Will android close the app when it needs memory or will the app stay open like when the icons are showing in the task bar?
I wanted to use the module to remove the notification of "No Sim card" (I am currently using N8000 without a sim) it's found in the system ui notifications but when i select it and reboot nothing happens but then i restart system ui and the notification is gone
But when i select it and custom design then reboot it works but i dont know if this would disable other notifications.... .. so What's the problem?!

Technical the app calls the function to create a notification, but this call never reches the system.
I'm using a other app by me named "KeepRunning" to restart crashed/closed apps. I've oberserve also some apps which are configured to not show notification. The logfile of KeepRunning tells me that during the last week only Whatsapp was several times was restarted, but this has no restricted notifications.
So i *think* the apps are not closed by Android. Btw, i the worst case Android closed any app, regardless of services or nifications

Xposed framework has not function to get a "Context"
To get the texts of a notification a "Context" is required
So the module searches for a context to read the notification.
Now the "system ui" starts very early and at this point it seems a context is not yet available and the notification is detected as "text not readable" and the app shows it as "custom design" :-/ If later a context is available notifications of system ui are read correct.
So i think it thould be okay to disable custom design for system ui to get rid of "no sim" notification
You could simple recognize a real custom design of notifications. The app "My Data Manager" uses such a one for notifications, i've attached a screenshot and marked it
You could enable the full logging by creating a empty file /data/data/de.defim.apk.notifyclean/files/NotifyClean.logging , a reboot is required to take effect. Be warned, it could slow down your device, so enable it not all the time
I don't know if i'm the only one, but I've got a problem to get notifications working well for Facebook messenger. On my older phone, I received an instant notification when a message was sent to me. Now it can take a while (15-45min or more).. If I go in the app, it's like if the applications was asleep, because it shows no messages. I need to refresh the view and it shows the new message(s). I don't know if it's a p9000 bug or Android 6.0?
I try stock rom and Eragon v 4.8, same problem.
