Hey guys! JALStudios here (Usually seen over at Galaxy S2 Forums) and I have a GREAT fix for you guys!
If you are having issues getting your Data to work and possibly MMS then you need to follow the steps below on how to fix!!
(MUST BE ROOTED)
1. Download Goldie's Special ROM! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669170
**If you don't want to use Goldie's ROM then flash the UCLE2 Modem to your current ROM and then proceed with steps!**
2. Boot Into Recovery Mode (CWM)
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset (3 Times)
4. Wipe Cache Partition
5. Reboot
6. Let Sit For 10 Minutes without touching!
7. Reboot again!
8. Go to APN Settings settings>mobile networks>access point names
9. Add New APN
10. Type in this Info:
Name: straight talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: 66.209.11.32
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32
MMS Port: 80
Authentication Type: PAP or CHAP
11. SAVE APN!!!!!
12. Reboot
Now you should have working data at FASTER SPEEDS!!!!! And MMS!
UCLE2 Modem (ICS ONLY)--DOWNLOAD

Well to work correctly you must use the UCLE2 modem. And this ROM uses that Modem. You may be able to flash the modem to another ROM and that would make it work.

I downgraded the modem & updated the Straight Talk settings without re-installing the ROM on my Note and it seems to be working well.
I don't know if this works or not (and I have no intention of trying - even though I am on StraightTalk) but check his ROM threads.... Flashers beware.

That other thread that hotw1re posted was hilarious sucks that he bricked so many devices though and I'm real leery of following what he's saying about anything.

I followed his steps, I don't think he bricked my device, it wouldn't connect to my network before. It just sucks that I followed them and now have no clue as to if he bricked my phone or not.

Seeing what you wrote, you need to go back a read. If you don't know what brick is then you shouldn't be flashing anything.

Very good advice!
Regarding the "fix" advertised in this post... I had been having problems with data not fully establishing when the radio would switch from WIFI to modem for a long time now (ever since UCLF6). I was ready to ditch the phone or switch to t-mobile.
After seeing this thread, I decided to give it a try (NOT using the OP's zip - rolled my own). Been running UCLE2 for almost two weeks now and it works great.
As I said before, I do not trust the author of this post, because he doesn't deserve it. I do trust Flappjaxxx. He posted CWM flashable modems here:

You could try an alt on MMSC

What radio are you using for jb on straight talk.since if says ucle2 is ics only.

While i waited for response i downloaded lf6 seems to be fine big difference from tmobile in my apartment i was getting. 02 mbps on straight talk getting 2.57 mbps loving it

I've been able to run any ROM on straight talk with the settings I provided n whatever radio that comes with it... The Padawan rom is ICS but it's freakin awesome.... Uclf6 works fine

Data does not work on non verizon phones when flashed to a CM7 based rom. And I believe JT said he wasn't going to do anything about it. And since Cyanogenmod will take over the builds, I doubt it will happen.

Just for clarification, I have a Verizon phone activated on Page Plus and data worked fine right out of the box using custom TouchWiz ROMs. Based on your response quoted above it sounds like my data should still work since I am using a Verizon phone and their network even though I am not a Verizon customer? Or is it more complicated then that?
I've just started looking into CM7 and MIUI and found a couple of posts concerning data access but wasn't clear on my situation. Maybe Page Plus hasn't been mentioned directly or more likely my search skills suck. Either way, thanks for any help you (or anyone) can provide.
I'm have same problem. I have cricket also and can't get 3g to stay on. even when i wiped and flashed another rom it still flashes on and off. i have to do a complete factory restore to fix it.

Might be different for page plus go ahead and try. I know us cellular works fine on cm7 as I've seen it mentioned a few times.

I'm currently on version 28 nightly on T-Mobile USA w/ v20g baseband...the wifi does work,the signal bars will show but mobile data is a no go even with the new baseband fix...so uusers with T-Mobile USA wanting new baeeband should stay with old baseband with using old baseband fix...as I've seen with using a nightly than flashing old baseband fix,the camera takes a shot but its a still image..
Unfortunately, now I have to switch back to v10e just to get mobile data working

It's not TMO in general. I have an older (64k?) SIM that works fine with the new Baseband and CM7. 2G/3G both work, can access the prepaid 'walled garden' with no problems. Unfortunately, that's not the SIM with mobile data service... my new (138K?) SIM has the data/APN problem on new BB / CM7.
As Jrhodes85 suggests, aspee's fix allows us to run old BB / CM7.

Today, i updated my Baseband to the v20g.. Delt with no mobile Data all day.. :/
So, tonight.. after bricking the phone (emergency mode only), i finally got the phone to work,and back on the Old baseband...
Let me share my experience:
I like the Oxygen rom, by popdawg..
Rom works great, other tahn 3g data not working..
Now, i downgraded to v10, Installed the OldBBfix (made by a member to shorten the fix involving three files, which can be found on the XDA thread for CM7 nightlies) to no avail.
The OldBB fix doesn't work with Oxygen.. The GSM is there, but it is just as if i had the new baseband... I can't set APN, and have it stick :/
Now,
I'm flashing CM7nightly 28 for the first time, with OldBBfix, gapps112812, and we'll see how it goes..
Hopefully i can getthis going.. I think the new Baseband does get better signal.. but, i rarely chat on the phone.. its mostly browsing, text, and email..
Anyway, i thought i'd share my experience with the Optimus, New and Old basebands, and the roms i have my eyes on.

I've always liked oxygen....its a good performance based rom,to minimalistic for me....I like to balance eye candy with performance and battery life....if I had a descent working computer I'd find out why T-Mobile USA can't get working mobile data with v20 series basebands...

Yeah, Oxygen is killer.. I have always liked CM7, and will probably switch over when the baseband is settled, and a Stable rom comes out..

Someone was working on a fix for the v20 series T-Mobile problems. If I'm not mistekn the thread does exist amongst the millions that already do.which is why I find it funny when people ***** about helping people with the same problem..some people can never clarify what's really wrong and it might sound like the exact thing as the last guy...I have forgotten alot but still retain a bit of information. By any chance do you know how to sign flashable zip files?

DJ from cyanogen forum posted saying Adam got hold of a new Sim, which is the problem for all the apn/data issues. A permanent fix should be coming soon.

Not sure what happened i had my phone rooted with the stock root no flash increase and everything was fine. I then installed the saurom rom and the oc kernel now my phone wont turn off or connect to data. I tried a factory wipe/reset and nothing happened. wonder if anyone has any ideas what i did wrong.
Check your apn. If you are on att you need to flash the att fix or enter them by hand

alright I got a problem that I need some help with alright this is how it started out I started flashing modem/radios to my rom and I flashed several different one (uclf3-6 and gb) it all started with a fix I tried from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895538&highlight=straight+talk after that it went all haywire I get text I get calls my apn settings are correct checked double checked triple checked I get no data at all use data packets is on im stumped I flashed odin stock and its still the same I cant figure it out can someone help me
You are currently on Stock rom ?
with ST APN settings ?? (they are revised from the thread you posted)
And are you using the UCLE2 modem ??
You must use the UCLE2 modem with Straight Talk APN's in order for data to establish.
And Goldie's rom if possible, but stock rom will work also...
then double check the APN, as it has changed from the original thread that you linked. check the end of that thread, and read it completely for the new APN settings on the MMS and data side.
I dont use ST, but based on the thread, you should have success if the APN is set properly on the UCLE2 modem....g

You are likely missing the RIL's from the stock rom with straight talk. Basically without these libraries, the modem wont function...
Did you flash Only one goldies rom to test function ??, as this rom contains the RIL's for ST.
This Straight Talk is a bad deal on connection issues....g
Also...UCLE2 modem is ICS only...If you are running a gingerbread rom, the Modem will "NOT" work anyway....g

You need an ICS rom when using the UCLE2 modem..(ICS only).....
then follow the steps again in the link you posted, with the upgraded APN settings that ST gave you....g
If you have the ICS rom with the ICS modem....your good....g

Several Roms out there for the Note II but not a lot of them unless they are Verizon Versions on the Software Some of the VZW Apps Don't work properly This should Fix the GPS Issue you might ran into.
It does two things, moves the VZW lib files over for GPS and it also should fix the volume levels in some apps that are low...

Thanks for posting this thread. I'm sure it will benefit many who suffer. I haven't had any GPS issues on any rom I flashed. Is it possible Samsung used GPS chips from different vendors?

Have you tried getting a gps lock on another ROM, done a nandroid, re flashed desired ROM? Usually this fixes it. Or if you toggle between LTE/CDMA and Global under the Wireless & Networks this too sometimes helps.

If it Doesn't I Flash Beans then use root uninstaller to back up the maps apk and stick it on your EXTSDCARD and go to recovery and wipe everything flash International Rom and the go to ES File Explorer and hit the menu button and go to tools/root explorer/Mount R/W and mount all RW NOT RO then go into the ES Explorer and go to Local and EXTSDCARD Then restore the Gmaps and it will ask to overwrite and say yes to all. Then reboot the Phone. When the Note II reboots then go to the Google Store and pick up GPS test its free and you can reset the AGPS and Update the AGPS Signals GO out side and get your Signal. If this doesn't work Try to Flash the Scotts GPS test Patch and should help. FYI I have had issues with the Global Mode popping up a lot and I went into the settings/more settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode and change to LTE/CDMA and then if you get Updating Sim Card info a lot at the bottom of the Screen Set it back to Global and should fix but you will still get the Switch to Global mode Message More I am still stuck how to fix that issue.

Maybe Try it but most of the time I believe it would work but could need some other Verizon Libs.etc to work properly

Think this fix will work on the minitabinternational ROM? I believe its base is still the same am I wrong. Mini tab is the only ROM I've ever had that GPS doesn't lock.
This did not work on JediX14... Still no gps signal, I've tried all the workarounds
I can confirm this didn't work on Sungsonic rom. I wiped everything, flashed rom, kernel, modem, vzw patch, gps fix no service.
Edit: probably was due to the Rom being an n7100 rom

I was able to put together a little fix and posted it here. It works for me on Moon, might work on other ROM's as well but I haven't tested it.

This worked on Novella rom but the lock is really slow
Edit: the lock was slow only at first try but almost instant lock after that.
