Hello fellow s3 peeps.. I got a buddy who has me do all his rooting and flashing because he is still learning. I have a u.s tmobile s3 so im not as familiar with the international roms. I flashed a rom on his gti9300 (arhd ics) but hes having some freezing issues now so he wants to try something else.. what I wanted to know is what's the latest ICS firmware called .. no leaks just the latest official one.. we live in the u.s. idk if that has anything to do with it. Also any rom recommendations will be appreciated.

Are you running I9100XXLF2 or I9300XXLF2? If you're asking for flashing Polish jb rom on your S2 then you're definitely going to break it!
If you have international S3 i.e. GT-I9300 then flashing polish version won't break your device. But since you're confused about it that's why I'd advise you to wait for a week or so because Samsung has started rolling out JB updates and your country might get it soon.
Its GT-I9300XXLF2 thanks for the info ill wait then because I want it to be the official samsung update

so far as your SGS3 is international you can use Poland version, i've been use it, i'm from indonesia and my SGS3 flashed by poland version, all looks good, but i don't know why the stock music player doesn't recognize my music folder on external SDCard.
I had similar problem with nightly on sgs2 I did reset to the phone and it worked good afterwards try many regarding the music to the phone and let the player find them again
First try recopying then reset depends on u
Hope it helps

So I asked a question like three days ago and I think I wasn't very clear
I have a Mexican SG3 and I want to try one of the European Jelly Bean Roms that have been out for weeks but I haven't really understood how does the builds and basebands work on this phone, I used to have an epic 4g touch from Sprint and I was used to only have one kind of baseband because it's an us phone only, but with this one I don't know what all the XX(insert random letters here) builds mean cause my phone has a build number of UBBLG2 and I'm afraid that if I install one of the jelly bean roms my data service will be lost...could someone please tell me how does this work

since its the international s3, you have no problem.
If you lose your service flash a compatible modem/radio from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061

There is only one modem for JB, much more simple than allthe ics stuff. In the pointed thread download XXDLID baseband if you don't already have it.

Hi all, (this is my first thread)
I wanted to ask a couple of questions about which I am confused...
I am currently running stock 4.1.1 on rooted international galaxy s3..
Q1. Is there anyway I can get 4.1.2 OTA Without unrooting?
Q2. I am not sure whether the country I bought my phone from has got the update yet... So is there anyway I can check that...
P.S I got my phone from dubai..
But I live in India...
Thanks.

Give a try to the temporary unroot option in the superuser app...
Not guaranteed to work...
Download stock rom through sammobile.com and flash through odin only...

If you already have CWM recovery why not use CWM to flash a custom 4.1.2 rom thats based on Stock firmware (like Android Revolution HD)?
Thats just as easy, has more support, rooted and you'll have future updates faster as well.
I already downloaded omega v34 but didn't flash it because people have lot of issues with it.. Lag, random reboot etc. Stock rom will be more stable I guess..
I haven't tried revolution though...
I'll try it now..
Any other rom you recommend?
Thanks!

I had the same experience, Omega had loads of launcher redraws and sudden lag. No such experience on ARHD with Perseus kernel. That kernel now even has the exynos exploit fixed.
Nope, all other roms i've tried i never used more then a few hours.
Can you give me a link to the ARHD page?
Thanks!

Yeah, everytime you flash the stock image, you'll have to root the phone again... but so what?? I have my mobile sine 8 weeks and i think i flashed it 10times now, and lots of custom-rom installations, configuring the phone etc....
It's not a hard work, you just have to read carefully BEFORE you start rooting, modding or whatever. This forum is awesome and till now i really found an answer to my questions everytime without bothering the ither guys with a question that is already answered a thousand times just have to use the search... so, good luck and have fun with your rooted mobile. By the way, i recommend the Omega-ROM for galaxy S2 and S3, the guys are.doing a great job with their ROMs. If you own a S3 LTE (i9305) i recommend the Pandoriam ROM, works best for me
Best regards

Haha.. Thanks buddy.
Btw, I am not new to rooting, I have flashed at least 15 rom's on my old phone(galaxy ace)
But I was not a member of XDA then.. I just used to read....
But since s3 is much more expensive I wanted to be absolutely clear about the smallest of things...
Because with great power comes great responsibility.

You got JB (4.1.2) & ICS (4.0.x) ROMs there.

There's also:
www.samfirmware.com
I think there you'll gonna find what you want.
Or you can do a downgrade for some stock, and update using Kies.

can't find yet my country's stock rom!
ockay i just found my country but not my carrier can i flash it anyway?
Yeah, you can flash whatever I9100 ROM you want.
I have been waiting very patiently for the official release of JB either via kies or ota. When ICS was released for the i9100 it was around 2 more months before i9100p varients starting being released. One thing that worries me is that all the leaked versions and official seem to be simply for the vanilla i9100 with little to no releases what so ever for the P. Looking on sam mobile this lists no version of JB for this model which makes me thing Samsung have ditched support for it and we will actually not see an official update for this device?
I am confident I could just load the i9100 firmware onto my phone via odin or something if I really wanted but would still prefer something official. So curious does anyone "in the know" actually know?
Im in same situation as yourself. I have an i9100p from orange and also thinking that samsung have ditched the 'p' version. I did try the first leaked jb rom and it works fine but im now back on official ics rom and just hoping I get an official jb rom with nfc

I have since noticed a couple of i9100P JB roms in the wild (taken from Sammobile) it's just very weird why there are so few. The annoying thing is I never actually ordered the P variant it was all the o2 were supplying at the time and I didn't know it was a P until I decided to put a custom kernel on.
