Hey everyone I've gotten into the app making and stuff and for anyone who knows about Java I may need some assistance, I've been building a game kinda basic but its my first app and its still got bugs, I'll post my source code later but its in the multi player score keeping that does not work. But single player does. Here I intend to make all my source and apps for the most part free especially this one once I get a Google dev account here is the link
http://www.4shared.com/android/ytrEexAu/pyromeetbutton-1.html
Give it a try tell me what you think it may need added to it so I can see what I can do thx

If you put the download on a server that doesn't require one to sign up you will get more feedback regarding your app just a hassle to sign up to download something kind of trivial and unknown (I was downloading so I could give you some positive feedback but having to sign up and make an account deterred me) I think others may feel the same good luck bro

Has anyone figured out a way to disable the advertisements that show on the bottom in most every app ?
So many are complaining about lag and I (for one) think it has to do with these stupid google advertisements.
Advanced task killer seems to stop them for a few minutes.....but I can't seem to grasp what is feeding them ?!?
Thats how some people make money... But if you must, there is an app called adfree android.... Must have root...

Please do not disable ads as a developer that keeps most of his apps free I really entirely on ads for any thing back.

Usually you can pick up the paid version of the app, which doesn't have ads.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
Just install adfree and be done.

As a consumer, please don't play this bs pity game about your decision to make your app less useful by covering a portion of the screen with ads to make money off us.

wrong section of the forums, this isn't "development"
but yes, AdFree is the thing that you're looking for.. most apps have a DONATE version which will remove the ad
Exactly, I just wanted to end the thread
You can afford a $500 phone, why not pay $ for an app you obviously like and find useful? Its especially insulting to ask for an easy way to screw the developers in a development forum... Try asking in general when you have questions.

Wrong thread.
Here is the classic argument, I believe consumers should have the right to privacy and there are apps out there with risky permissions and adwares that can read your contacts and sms while it is a simply an 'offline' game. I do buy many apps and donate sometimes. I use a phone because it's my personal devices, I customize it how I want. To the dev who blame AdFree for 'losing' money, too bad. Create a good program, charge for it and remove your adwares for the paid version. Or a non euphemistic way of putting it: maybe if you made a non-s***** app without those adwares and not running in the background slowing down my phone maybe I would consider paying or donating, its free market capitalism, not welfare.
Also there are even purchased apps that come with adwares and sometime there is no paid option. I do understand Google list the permission before you download the app and since it's free its my choice if I want to download it or not, fine, but it is not always transparent for the consumer, for example apps do not list the type of adwares installed. Until the Congress say it's illegal to use ads blocking I will continue to use it.

ads is everywhere, I got a headache when watching this ads.
Make sure to download the newest version if it via either Google play store or their website. They recently moved locations.
As for aware there exists an app that customizes that permissions an app installed on Android may have. You can use that to create a custom install for, say Angry birds, where it no longer allows it access to location or to the Internet which would defeat aware that tracts you or downloads new "harmful" features.
I cannot remember the name of the app offhand. If someone could help I would appreciate it.

Greetings, here is a simple calculator app that I am developing in Flash Builder with Flex, which basically uses java and xml's to develop. Although I have the basic logic down as for how I would like to approach this type of APP, I would like for some one to help me structure the coding. I will upload the source directly along with screen shots to help. XDA Developers won't let me upload the coding within the actual post so I have provided them as attachments.

If you're building a tip calculator, you might want to take a look at the source code of this example app. (It's from a book I'm reading "Android How to Program")
Edit: I just realized you're developing an app using Flash.. This post may not be of use to you. If so, just ignore this and move on.
Either way thanks. For the reply. I appreciate it

I have recently discovered that I would love to start developing Android apps as a hobby and I have completed this set of lessons - http://developer.android.com/training/basics/firstapp/creating-project.html - successfully but now I want to learn more.
If anybody has any "making of" videos/series of people developing apps (in Eclipse) then please can you link it here.
Thank you.

Did you already go through all this tutorials http://developer.android.com/training/index.html?
wow cool. Didnt know that they offer such Lessons. Just always get redirected to the API. Did someone really made all the Trainings before creating Apps? I dont think so but its a very good starting point

I would recommend taking a look at The New Boston android app development series (http://thenewboston.org/list.php?cat=6) it covers everything from essential basics to more advanced topics like databases and using OpenGL, among other android development topics.

How do I search for and delete a spam ad in my operating system?
It shows up in my browser as adtracking.king.com/modules/(more stuff I cannot remember)...
I've searched everywhere and had no luck.
My phone is a Huawei M835 running android 2.2 which is rooted.
I've tried root Explorer, but cannot find /modules section.

the only way to delete it is uninstalling the app. turning off any connection to the internet works too i think.
can I delete it via file manager?? ...
I've taken the battery out several times and can see where that's not going to work much. So I'll turn off my internet right after I post this.
FYI: the ad seems like it's on a timer. Plus it keeps telling me different things such as "your phone is at risk", "free app of the day", "Samsung galaxy phone", and the URL is usually for candy crush saga, which not only doesn't work on this phone, the URL redirects me to Google Play Store.
Thank you for helping me out!!
Is there anything else I should try??
Get "airpush ad detector" , it is most likely some app that is causing this!
Delete the offending app.

new kernel means fewer problems likely ...
I'm not getting anything more than the network notice.
Airpush doesn't mention an app or anything else so I'm really not sure what to try next. On most Linux systems, when you disable or worse, delete the network manager - your out of business. The thing stops working. I'm 200 miles from the nearest metropcs store, so that's why I asked.
The bulk of Linux distributions don't have issues such as this, so that's why I'd rather put the new Linux kernel in. Plus, I'm very familiar with synaptic and a host of things that android simply doesn't have.
I've actually found a premium Linux installer which installs Debian and Ubuntu on your cell phone right from sourceforge.net.
Also, I did some research and metropcs offers phones up to android 4.0. No word if they're still going to run in 2015 when metropcs switches over from cdma to T-Mobile's gma network.
I'm sorry for the late reply. I was nearly killed in a motorcycle wreck in January (6 months ago) and I've been sick in bed for a while. I was in a coma for 4 1/2 months. My new bike was destroyed. Several broken bones. - So I apologize.
The URL showing up in the address bar is http://adtracking.king.com/modules/ad tracking /?com.=candy.crush.saga. Is there a way to hunt this /modules directory down in Root Explorer???
You could try adding the address to the hosts file in /etc/hosts

The problem sounds oh so much like a malicious app, did you install something just prior to this starting? Maybe pull a logcat and try to see if you can't track down what's doing this.
FYI a lot of free games will do exactly this, try a clean wipe and just installing what you need

Shannon -2, demon - forum contributor
Thank you very much for getting back to me. Are there instructions or a thread that will help me do this?
Demon - I agree this is some balogna planted on my phone. Although I always use Google Play for my apps and never ever install games, I did get gingerbreak 1.2 from a non XDA source and I think that's the problem.
Is there a clean Gingerbreak link I can use??
Also, what android versions does XDA premium run on??? It's borked on my 2.2 version of android.

Shannon -2,
I looked up, and found tytung's posts regarding the ROM's and even found the posts for the new 4.2 ROM's then bookmarked the posts too.
Since a few mods got mad and deleted the download links, is therê a place that will allow users to download the ROM's we need?
Also, will these ROM's work on non -HTC cellphones?? (Such as my huawei M835).
I honestly don't know how to determine if my phones have the type of / version of software listed to run the ROM's tytung's listed in his posts. - I read most of his posts in on huge thread, including the new screen he created with other Developers. I just don't have the knowledge yet to decipher if this is appropriate for my two phones or not.
Since your an experienced developer, will the XDA premium app run on android 4.0 or higher and let us post??
Lastly, is there a Developer that I can Pay to updated my ROM?
Thank you Shannon!!
AFAIK all versions are supported by xda app.
If you search on google you will find links to tytungs roms, the mods don't want links posted here!!
Search for 'NexusHD2 Android forum' and you will find guides for installation on all of these roms.
No, these roms are specific to the HD2 hardware so won't work on your huawei M835.
If you want a fluid rom go for the gingerbread version, the 4.x roms have some lag!
If you have any problems post back here.
Good luck with it.

Hey XDA,
I'm trying to figure out how to build automated script that would perform certain actions for an android game. I have seen a script like this in action, so I know it's possible. But my skills are noob at best.
If someone can give me an idea how to do it I would really appreciate it!
I believe that I would have to first get the source code of the game, in order to get the specific commands that it executes when u perform the attack in the game, than write a script that would use my account info to send the same action (command) to the game server? And than automate the script.
Correct me if I'm wrong and please share some insight of the matter. I am guessing here at what I have to do, just from common sense intuition, otherwise I got no clue
Any thoughts would be welcome. I bet it's an easy task for some of you here!
Thank You,
Shlevy
