Is there a way, possibly using Titanoim Backup, to backup and restore the APN settings?
I change ROMS a lot, and notice that retyping the APN settings is the worst part.
not sure about titanium but you can with an app called APN Backup and Restore. For Jelly Bean roms you must however convert the app to a system app before restoring and the Press the menu button (in app) and press 'Disable ICS Check'. Try read the app info/description in the Playstore for more info.
After restoring I find I always need to restart my phone then all works fine.

Hi,
I updated from lightingrom 2 to 5 and now Im unable to install anything from market and lots of app crashes...
Downgrade to 2 gives a loop boot. Is there a way to backup my data, settings and apss then to do a factory reset and afterwords to restore the backup?
thanks
Titanium backup can backup most things, you can restore any system data in green and user apps and data.
If it's red don't restore it, you will lose some settings but you can restore sms, mms, wifi access point settings and some others.

I'm using Rerware MyBackup to backup my data. When going to a new ROM is it OK to restore system settings? I know on Titanium backup its recommended to not restore "system data". Is this the same or are "system settings" OK?
I've attached a screenshot

You can restore any market apps and their data. You can restore any message and phone logs.
Just don't restore any system settings or system data.
Don't worry, because you can always factory reset, reflash your rom, and try again with your backup, adjusting the settings.
You don't restore anything system unless you are restoring it on the same exact system (ex: UCLF6 stock to UCLF6 stock). Whether the ROM is custom, OEM, Gingerbread, ICS, CM, AOKP, and so on all are different systems. You can't mix system files and settings.
Dear Friends,
Quick question here:
How can I change or add my MMS settings or get an APN going for the EVO LTE? I know the common solution is APN Backup and Restore, but for me it is not working, DESPITE the System App change using Titanium Backup. I successfully converted it to a System App, but APN Backup and Restore still cannot change the APN I want, due to permissions on ICS.
What can I do here? Especially since in the EVO, there is no APN menu either, in the Mobile Networks settings?
Thanks for all your help!
So I've had a number of roms that after flashing, Google will automatically restore all previous apps for you when setting up the new system. My question is.. is there a way to force this? I've had a few roms that didn't do this and I'm curious why, or if I can manually make the system do this. I have tibu as well but I kind of stopped using that after I had a few roms that did this for me

Usually under settings there's a "Back up and reset" section. In there is the option to backup and automatic restore. If this section isn't included in the rom, then no it won't automatically backup and restore your google stuff. Therefore you can't force it too. Also when you install a new rom the device id changes. Tibu can restore your previous id and then the playstore will download your previous stuff. But tibu has to be installed first. To do this you can make an "update.zip" with tibu that you flash when installing a new rom. That will force it!
use tibu to restore just an I.d. to "restore" apps from the market?
That seems like a huge waste of time.
1. The market restore is over WiFi only, as its not really restoring anything...just redownloading and installing all those apps.
2. Being fresh installs, the apps settings aren't restored...
You're already using a much better method in order to do this, titanium backup works in airplane mode as it's restoring data stored on the device, along with their data.
Much more efficient.
Hi,
I'm using titanium backup each time I restore or flash with a new ROM but I have not find an easy way to restore only the :
APN preferences (Internet access / MMS)
Saved Wireless network
Different accounts
For the accounts & wireless I've found them in titanium backup, but unfortunately not for the APN settings (and I have to enter them manuallly each time...)
I've seen that google keeps a backup of our phone... hmmm... are all these settings stored? if yes how to restore them?
Install APN Backup and Restore Then convert it to a system app in TB. More details on the play store.
