[Q] [NOOB] ClockWorkMod problems - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hey.
I know, this is a noob question, but I couldn't get that figured out.
I installed CWM like this guy said and it seems to be right. I can boot up.
But when I press VolUp an Power, like the internet told me, I only boot up like normal, my blue LED turns on.
Do I have to press VolDown on Xperia P? If yes, how do I flash my phone now? VolDown was the flashmode-key I thought?!

Try spamming it (press repeately).

Thread moved to Q & A section, kindly post in the relevant section next time.

When sony shows up,repeatedly touch on the screen and boom.u will be in the recovery mode

Well I think this is the only method to get the stock ICS ROM. Because the installed one I don't like. Often it crashes and my PC don't recognize it as a phone anymore.
I could also keep Recovery AND install stock ROM. If that is possible.

Yeah its possible. Just update ur mobile thru pc companion. It doesnt matter if ur phone is rooted or not

Okay, okay.
I got it.
I couldn't boot in flashmode.
I flashed a kernel in fastboot.
Now I can access flashmode.

Yes u can do that. Search for a flashable zip of ur rom and flash it using cwm after ur done, you'll be asked if u also want to flash ur recovery with the ine that's included un the rom when u select the reboot option. Simply select no and you're done.

Wow...that's two years ago mate
I don't even have the phone anymore
But thanks anyways :victory:

I suppose that you even can't boot in to your phone. If it is like that, try to go into recovery (vol down + home + power button combo), wipe all data and reflash your ROM.

Its not called bricked you just did things wrong. Dont spoil rom manager image.! I've been using rom manager to flash thing like 200 time not even a single unsuccessful flash, let even brick.
A brick is when phone is totally dead no logo no recovery no fastboot no adb. Just like phone without battery.
And be precise like you were on this rom and than I did this and that.... so that everyone can help u better.

2x attempted to flash CWM and two times got fastboot here. If you look @ xda, you can see that clearly there is a serious bug with flashing recovery at least, but have yet to hear anything from the developer.
ROM Manager for recovery flashing = not recommended (from me at least).

i'd write the steps again
1.) Relax
2.) Download KDZ Updater & Stock KDZ File (KDZ Updater- http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
ROM- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479)
3.) After ur downloads are done. Remove the battery.
4.) Plug In ur phone while holding ( VOLUME UP + RETURN ) this would bring ur phone in EMERGENCY MODE.
5.) open KDZ Updater. In Type choose 3GQCT and in PhoneMode use EMERGENCY or CS_EMERGENCY . choose the KDZ file u downloaded.. and hit the launch software update button.
6.) If it fails. Go to device manager. Under Modems Disable LGE Virtual Modem or LGE Android USB Modem. and restart PC and repear step 4 and 5.This should Do the work
7.) if u're on version 2.2.2 download Gingerbreak(Search the forum) and root ur phone . Install custom recovery and flash whatever ROM u want
Thank me if i helped
Cheers
Rom manager is fixed now.

Guessing that you have hard bricked the phone, due to doing wipe on stock rom.
Not much you can do, a new motherboard is required
Can you enter download mode?
Download mode is entered by Volume Down + Home + Power pressed simultaneously when your phone is off.
Sounds like your motherboard is toast. you got warrenty? maybe theres hope
nope
no compassion at all.
If you had read just a little bit about rooting / flashing, you would have known that you should not do a CWM factory reset on stock 4.0.4 rom.
Just like here:

and here:

I guess you have to tell your friend that you ruined his phone

[Q] How to update Xperia Sola to ICS (Volume Down button not working)

Hello,
This might seem strange.
But i want to update my Sola to ICS and the problem is volume down button isn't working.
So what's the alternative?
Is there any way i can install recovery to it with bootloader locked? (it seems the only option)
Any help will be highly appreciated.
You'll have to update using Sony Update Utility, I guess. I dont know any other way to enter Flashmode without Volume button Maybe some of the Experts here might have a clue but I think simplest route right now is to install via Sony's own tool
Merry Christmas
Volume down button Is very critical
In case of entering flashmode
Pcc and sus both require to use volume down button
Flashtool requires volume down button
Get it repaired first
Coz the guz at sony service will also not b able to update without it

Guys i can't pay the charge of a motherboard just for a volume button.
Is it possible to flash rom in fastboot mode?
Service Centre going to charge you mobo rate for Volume key ? You sure ? And also, are you sure you dont have warranty ? Just for luck, try at a different Sony repair place.. I could get free repairs for specific needs from different Repair Centers
Best of Luck Let us know how it goes

HELP Xperia U Root

Howdo all,
After finally sucessfully rooting my One S my girlfriend decided i needed to do her Xperia U.
However i seem to be hitting even more road blocks now....ive tried the "ROOT MANY ANDROID" method and the NOOB PROOF xperia U method..
on the second method i was told i would need to flash an earlier kernel for it to work "ICS 6.1.1.B.1.10"
having scoured the internet for this item im convinced it no longer exsists, but i found one but it appears its for the Sola and not the U which i unfortunately didnt notice until after i installed it ( i was just happy something was working) and now the phone won't turn on, it vibrates when the power button is held but i get no feedback from the screen.
So my question is, is this phone bricked? or is there a method i can try? or does anyone perhaps have the kernel for ICS 6.1.1.B.1.10 that i can try and flash
Thanks in advance.
ok it gets worse, i have got it working....buttttttt because i was just trying to get the phone working again i have installed the jelly bean port from the xperia p which as you can imagine is fun to look at but is unusable....
so i desperately need to get back to ice cream sandwich but im struggling to find a boot.img and kernel for this dammed phone....please HELP!
I don't know how you can't find anything there's loads of posts about with official firmware in -

is that not going to be in Italian? plus i need gingerbread or ics i think...i'm still not actually rooted yet, thats how this problem began i was trying to downgrade back to 6.1.1.B.1.10 because the "noob-proof root" would only work on that kernel.
now it seems not only do i need that kernel i also need to find the boot.img associated with that kernel...
