Hi there guys so i got a Galaxy S II and amazing as it is I read a thread About the EFS folder now the good news is that i wrote down the IMEI number when i first got the phone but the bad news is that i flashed a lot of custom ROMS on it and from what i can see the EFS folder is empty what can i do to restore and back it up?
This thread is a good start. There are lots of others. Rather than using XDA's search facility (which is useless at the best of times), do a Google search & append XDA to your search query.
From there, you could try GS_II Repair from the Market (again, there are probably other apps which might help). And finally, last resort for people who don't backup their EFS when flashing custom roms/kernels like they should given how simple it is to do is to contact a member on here called Odia who might be able to 'recover' your IMEI for a small donation (a 'case of beer' does it, from what I've been told).
You if you go to settings > about phone what does it say on IMEI number ? Unknown ?
I use this app when my nvdata file crash https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5oZWxyb3ouR1NJSV9SZXBhaXIiXQ..

what file browser did you use?
I used Es file explorer and the Efs folder was empty ,which is not possible since I haven't flashed any roms.
use root explorer and you will find that the folder is not empty (if you're lucky that is).

i'm using ES file explorer and the efs folder is not empty, everything is there
If you flashed a lot of custom roms one of them may have backed up efs folder at boot .
Check phone sd card for an efs backup file .

Hello, Someone can help me?. Suddenly I see I have changed in my Galaxy S2 the IMEI to 004999010640000 and all I do not work.
Copy the folder for months EFS on a lot of sites, including the PC but did not do any backup directly to any of SAI's programs like "efs repair".
Someone can help me?, As I can use the copy of the EFS folder that I have saved to get my IMEI?.
The advice will be very grateful.
For months now the same thing happened to me, therefore, it copied to dozens of sites EFS folder, then I solved it through a thread that WEP is not, charging a few euros, change to distance, took over my computer across the network and change the IMEI, an honest person, had to send photographs of the Cell where the IMEI clearly see, but you did not. But can not find it now.
...
He has EFS backup but as folder, not .img or something.
You need to pack this folder somehow and then use EFS management tool.
Please give me stock efs files.....i need them i know these are different but i need them for vibrant....just for trying once please.....
I don't believe your going to get anyone to give you a copy of their EFS.
These are the files where the IMEI and everything vital to each user specifically is stored. You'll need your own.
here it´s
before you try anything more, have you tried to recover your old rfs folder?
if not, you can try to recover it by mounting your efs folder and copying the contents from inside to, then remake it and put it back on, so you dont lost your imei.
Google for it but dont remake your partition or else you may not recover those files, getting a "permanent" generic imei on your phone.
Please stop starting threads asking for someone's EFS folder. If they want to give up the folder that has their device IMEI, then they will.
There are 8 threads opened by yourself with this very question. I would tread lightly from here on out. I will have more to say in your other thread but for now, this one and all the others are now CLOSED.
Please do not open another thread asking for the EFS folder or this will be the nicest response from me you will get.

Yes. Don't delete the clockworkmod backup folders, just the folders with the specific backups in.
files with date
The backup files that I have moved its named like this : 2013-05-29-21.01.29 inside that folder there's 12 files
Havent deleted anything yet.

Sorry, to be clear, leave the folder structure \clockworkmod\backup - only move / delete the dated folders as above.
You need to keep the structure so you know where to put the backups if you need to restore them back. They need to be in the same place so the recovery sees them
Hi, first of all i want to apologize for my bad english.
I got the problem that my IMEI is gone BUT i did make an backup before i installed a new room but i did just copy my efs folder and placed the copy in sdcard with ES Explorer so i have my original efs folder.
The problem is that i cant just replace it with the bad one or use any software to do it because its not a img backup file.
Is there a way for me to just replace the bad efs folder with the original? The bad efs folder is not empty.
I would really appreciate and solution for this
Use a rooted file explorer to paste the files, set permissions and reboot.
Solution is posted many times, use the search facility.
