I tried to see a way to make a FlashTool installable pre-rooted rom, but seems like there's no way
As of now, i'm trying to make a pre-rooted custom rom for LWW, and Android Kitchen allows the creation of one. This, of course, will be a .zip file which has to be installed from CWM, so i'll still need to do all the steps you did to get CWM, so, as far as i know, we're stuck into rooting the long way

He flashed stock kernels... there's no problem with that even on locked bootloaders.

How could he try rooting using stock kernel since that's what he says he tried to achieve?

Come on guys,
i dont want be blamed because of any war in italy
please please :highfive:

From history you should know that Italians never start wars, we always wait for others to start, jump in after a while so we know which side has most chances of winning and eventually switch sides at the end

I'm on my way to create a clean ics rom PRE-ROOTED, i just don't have enough time, if you would like to give me a hand i will apreciate that.
In the mean time just root your phone the long way, update to 4.0.4 an then install CWM Recovery and finally install this ROM, is the one i'm using right now and run really smooth, and it's pre rooted.
If you need help with any of those steps pm me.

[Q] How to make most stable and fast Stock Rom ever?

Hi everyone!
I'm tired using custom roms for their instability and fc's everywhere for over a year I didnt found Rom that works perfect all the time with many apps installed so I just want to my phone work, dont want to flash new system every month again.
I was running stock with deleted apps, Set Cpu (tnx to gregbradley (edit: that was neoxx3m very good advidce, sorry my bad) and z-kernel for about 4 months and I was happy, that was one and only Rom that i've used so long. Yes it wasnt so fast but it was very stable and everything works so nice not even one fc. (kindda wierd couse ive installed z-kerner on my Unlocked BL x10 and now I can't and dont wanna to play and relock)
So i wanna repair my phone and get back to stock, root it, delete all uneeded apps and flash the most stable kernel so will it be failsafe from doom right?
And the question is will my plan work? I know that phone will not be so fast but will everything work and this is all I need or maybe someone has better idea?
Also have some questions about the newest fw for this Doom UB kernel. Where do i get this newest se fw?
Any help will be very appriciated.
Restore the phone back to stock using SEUS. That should do the trick
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Last few ROMS Ive installed from scratch. So repair, root, etc I've even format sd card everythime i flash new rom. The question is:
Will doomkernel work on stock rom repaired in pc companion?
Will it be stable?
DoomKernel is stable on stock unlocked BL, but u have few version. X, S and one more i think. Look at his thread an try it.
Sent from my "z10i"
Have to try but Doom writes thet this kernel is for NEWEST SE FIRMWARE, will it work on stock just repaired in pc companion?
Someone made the topic that He was tring to flash this newest firmware (3.x.x.x) and ended with no boot and anything could help him
I was running stock with deleted apps, Set Cpu (tnx to gregbradley advidce) (...) and I was happy,

It will work because when u repair ur phone via PCC u get latest firmware (2.3.3/3.x.x.x.x.x), but my advice is to try relock BL and use zKernel, i did that yesterday and i'm happy again!
Sent from my "z10i"
I told you that dont wanna play with bootloader no more, maybe for some time i would like to try some kernel or rom (if im not happy for using stock and doom) and will have to unlock again so im patience (tring to) and will not to this for a while.
Anyway strange is that i flash zKernel even if i had unlocked Bootloader and it work fine but when i tried to do this again ( didnt know that this kernel is fo Locked only) it didnt work

[Q] OTA ICS on AT&T Stock Rooted via RoloRacer Method

Will AT&T GNotes running stock I717UCLA1 rooted by RoloRacer's method (no tripping of flash counter) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962 get the official AT&T OTA ICS update when available? Or will these phones need to be unrooted to get the update?
Thank you.
generally, rooted phones do NOT get OTA updates, but since this hasn't been released yet, no one can answer your question.
let us know if you get it when the ota gets released, ok?

Certainly!
I keep checking for an update daily, hoping that it will be available sometime this month. But, if it isn't here by the end of the month, I think that I will flash one of the custom ICS ROMs that are available.
If I decide to install a custom ICS ROM, will I need to first, unroot the device and then flash this new ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664980

No. You will need to be rooted to get into CWM and load a ROM...if You dont have CWM installed, install it via Odin. Be aware though that this will trip the flash counter, but there are ways to remove that notification
na, just root your phone, and start flashing custom roms..
the dev's here will incorporate any changes/improvements from the official release into their base roms once it ACTUALLY comes out
there won't be anything unique in the "official" release that the dev's here won't be able to use, if its an improvement over what they are doing now..
I already have the phone rooted using the mashi root method listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962 Being a NOOB in the Android world, I'm not sure what needs to be done next to be able to intall the ICS ROM.
Since my Note is already rooted, can I install the ClockworkMod Recovery listed here, first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23170524 and then install this ICS ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664980
Thank you.
I installed ClockworkMod Touch Recovery last night with success! Now I plan on flashing ICS later today. I'm going to try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664980

You don't need root for cwm. At all.
Download mode and recovery are underneath the os, only need root while inside Android itself

[Q] [X10] xRecovery on ICS/JB roms?

So, I'm a pretty average custom rom user of an x10a.
I've flashed and tweaked out with several gingerbread roms, without any issues.
Recently I found about the newer 4.1.2 roms for the x10 from late December. And I was wondering, 'cause I want to update to one of those, I understand that they're flashed in the same way 2.3 roms are. But, my xRecovery is the 3.0 gingerbread ready version. So I don't know if it will work at all after I've installed one of the Jelly Bean roms.
So I'm kindly asking anybody who knows on the forum if it will still work after I flash to 4.1.2. 'Cause I'm not certain which rom of the two I found is better for me. And I want to test them both out, but of that of course I'd need xRecovery working.
In short I'm just asking for a y/n answer on will xRecovery for the Xperia x10 work after I've installed a 4.1 custom rom, or will I have to go back to stock 2.3.3 and re-root and unlock my bootloader again?
Big thanks to anybody who replies This is the first post I made here, and probably the only one I'll never need.

copy your choice of rom, ics/jb into your sd card. install the appropriate kernel via flashtool. all ics/jb kernels includes CWM so you should have no problem installing these roms granted that you have unlocked bootloader.

Oh, oh, sorry! WOW, I need to focus when reading! I'm really sorry! Thanks for the help good to know. :good:
It can be done, but it depends on which kernel you flash.
Some kernels only contain CWM, while others contain xRecovery and CWM.
But you can always flash a kernel that has xRecovery (Like Doomkernel of ferkernel 3.6), and thus you have xRecovery.

Thank you, glad to see that the community here is always willing to help!
Tried both of the roms today, and it worked like a charm! Neat that I didn't know each kernel came with custom recovery images.
Thank you for the help Cheers mate!

Hi
Can flash ICS/JB rom using xrecovery in Doomkernel? Thanks
I'm not sure mate, I don't think Doomlord's kernel is compatible with anything but 2.3, but don't take my word on it.

What you must understand is that a Rom comes with some installation scripts. CWM and xRecovery will able or not to understand those scripts.
In order to be able to flash a ICS or JB rom from xRecovery it means that the rom has to been prepared to be flashed thanks to xRecovery.
The Recovery "manager" are provided with the kernels, so there shouldn't be anything to ask about xRecovery or CWM regarding Roms,
just flash the kernel that works with your rom and you'll get the correct recovery to install the ROM from.
The only exception is that on some phone, the CM10 kernel doesn't want to go into recovery before flashing CM10 Rom (happened to me when coming from stock gb), so you have to flash CM9 kernel, install CM10 rom and reflash CM10 kernel.
The question of xRecovery and CWM is more when you try to flash some libraries after the installation of the Rom.
So regarding this question, there's no ICS or JB roms (that I know of) that have a xRecovery scripts.

[Q] Rooted/UnlockedBL/Flashing first timer. I need answers!

Hello everybody.
I have just rooted, installed CWM Recovery and unlocked my Xperia P's bootloader (and nandroid backup) and I think i'm ready to get my device a new rom and kernel.
Although, since it's my first time messing around with these things i'd deeply appreciate some help/knowledge.
1) First and most important thing. I can't seem to find any usefull guides about flashing
2) If I flash a custom rom/kernel, can i go back to stock after that?
3) After flashing rom/kernel do i have to keep the files in my SD?
4) If (during or after flashing) my phone bricks, can i get it to work again?
I'm sure more questions will come
So, as I mentioned, this is my first time. I know that the ROM/Kernel i pick, is something that I have to decide BUT since you have probably done that hundreds of times and you have by far more knowledge than me.. Which ROM/Kernel do YOU prefer and why?
Phone: Xperia P LT22i on JellyBean 4.1.2

wifi error
i don't know why but my wifi is not working its due to the fact i flashed a custom kernel with cwm recovery tool and it was a rooted kernel. I also rebooted several times but my wifi still says error. I looked for a stock kernel.sin flashed it the wifi is still not working so after flashing the kernel.sin i then tried a hard reset. Now my question if i reinstall 2.3.4 is that the only way il be able to get my wifi working again or isn't there a shorter method because im sure if i reinstall the phones firmware that should get my wifi working again any ideas ? by the way i havn't installed any custom rom i was about to but the wifi issue is a problem
