Have samsung apps on non samsung android phone - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I really like the Kies Air app for samsung phones: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.swift.app.kiesair&hl=en
Is there absolutely any way to get this on a non samsung phone?
Thanks

Why don't you just use AirDroid. It has all the nifty features of KiesAir, and is totally free...and works on most Android phones.

[Q] Stock Android on my Samsung Tablet?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition, and I was wondering if I can install stock Android on it without loosing S-pen Driver support. Also I'm not getting the KitKat Update because I'm currently living in Greece, even though I'm using the GUI in English, so that kinda annoys me. Anyway, I hope there's a solution.:good:

Cyanogenmod is about as close as you are going to get to stock Android for it. S Pen works, but you won't have any built-in S-Note or handwriting keyboard type stuff. You will need 3rd party app replacements. As far as the update, it's pretty common for them not to get auto-updates if you are in a different region and they haven't pushed out the OTA there. It's best to update via the computer anyway as it creates less issues generally.

On cyanogen mods website they state only the original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, not 2014 edition are supported. Also, can't I use the Samsung S-pen apps if I port them over to CM? And lastly - how can I update via the computer. THx

No. They're usually tied to the TouchWiz framework and it's hard to nearly impossible to get many Samsung apps working properly on non TouchWiz roms.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ Search for P605 and download the one you want for the region the tablet is original from or if you have a rom picked out and they suggest a different base to have installed first, use that one. Instructions will be the same either way. You can follow the guide here:
http://www.howtoroot.mobi/2014/06/flash-p605xxucne2-android-442-kit-kat.html
Or any of the other 1000s of guides for how to update via Odin on here, any other Android phone/tablet forum, YouTube, etc.

[Q] Multiple user rom

I'm looking for a rom able to support multiple accounts on a phone. For Samsung Galaxy 7262... Currently it runs on Android 4.1.2.
It's on a phone, not a tablet.
Please, I'm still looking for something like this.

[Q] Can I flash a Samsung ROM to a non Samsung phone?

I have a spare Moto X Style which is not my daily driver. I also have a Samsung Gear VR but alas it is only compatible with recent Samsung phones. Can I flash a Samsung ROM (eg Note 5, S6 or S7) to my Moto X Style so it will be recognised my Gear VR and I can run the Gear VR apps? I don't want to have to buy a Samsung compatible phone.
I have tried installing the Occulus and Gear VR system files to some degree of success but I still cannot get any apps to install as I can't get Gear VR services to run as am missing the Samsung CSC feature files. So I think it would be easier to just clone the whole Samsung ROM to my Moto. Is this doable?
Any advice please?

Simple answer is no. Long answer is each rom is built for that device. Drivers, libs, partitions, os, etc are all device dependent.

Best way to get rid of bloatware

Hi everyone,
I have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to draw, watch movies, edit notes,...
I'd like to get rid of some bloatware (I don't use Chrome or most of the pre-installed apps) but some looks useful (air command or anything to do with the S Pen).
What would you suggest me to do, to keep some of the useful pre-installed app and get rid of the rest?

Package Disabler Pro
Then it changed, and needed a plug in..
now I read that Package Disabler Pro+ doesn't require a plug in.
The professional version ( More expensive version ) I REMEMBER just turned off time on your display etc.
I used it on my S2, I don't have a S3, I don't have a Samsung anymore. No idea if it works for S3. Careful on using it. No root required. I could turn off about 100 things! and once I turned off the Samsung touch wiz? or something to do with the Launcher.. I had to re-install the OS again
https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin just in case you do
Hi Mr Nice Guy!
I have read about Disabler Pro while searching on the forums. I guess I will give it a try. Thank you for the help
