As the title states every time I connect my gs3 to my ps3 it says "unknown device connected" was wandering if anyone had the same problem or maybe a solution.
My phone is not rooted running stock firmware etc (ICS 4.0.4)
Any advice would be brilliant thanks.

If you're on wifi, go into settings > more under the wireless and networks and turn on nearby devices. I stream music and movies with mine using it.

Was a bit gutted that my phone didn't come with NFC so was wondering if there is any way to retro fit it once more places are using NFC? I saw there was maybe sd cards coming out that gave NFC capabilities.
Cheers

Orange are putting it on their SIMs for their new 'Quick Tap' system.
http://orange.co.uk/quicktap
Having just watched that video, it would seem that 'quicktap' works on a similar.premise to 'bump'? As in, by tapping the phone onto another device, a connection is made?

That's essentially what NFC does. It creates a connection when it comes into close proximity to another compatible device or 'tag'
I was wondering if it would be possible to connect 2or more android devices together to each other using USB otg. I have tried stick mount and it does not work. Any other applications? Or just not possible?

You can do that using wifi hot spot functionality..
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
I agree with wifi solution and there should be application for this, e.g. "Anypush" to share picture, music and files.
I know about blue tooth and WiFi but what I was wondering was device wired directly to another

Do you have an aux/headphone socket on your car stereo? If so, all you need is something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-Plug-Mtrs-Gold/dp/B0007OC94E/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url or similar, then you just connect one end to the headphone socket on your phone and the other to your stereo.
Yes it does work this way but I would like to use it through the usb for charging while listening to my music. Is this problem because the S3 does not have a mass storage when connected via usb? If so mu only option is using 2 cords to listen to music while charging. Damb that sucks.

You need to Root and use App called SGS3 EasyUms then you can use Mass storage for car stereo.

me either ):
I haven't had my galaxy nexus or htc droid be found by my ps3, I think it might be a jellybean thing, especially since they don't have sd cards, and Windows sees then as mtp devices.
Last night I downloaded a dlna server app, worked pretty good for me. Watched pictures and videos from our ski trip.
The app "media server" worked well for me.

Let me know if this works.
In the meantime, the DROID DNA supports the wireless N standard, so if you have a wireless router supporting wireless N, it should increase your transfer rate.
The PS3's wireless adapter doesn't support wireless N or newer standards, so I suggest connecting the PS3 via ethernet port if possible. This should greatly improve local streaming speed.
