Jelly Bean Note Roms?

Just saw that the source code for JB has been released and I was wondering if that means we should be seeing some Note optimized versions soon. Any opinions or matters of fact?

ive been reading around, some DEVs have droped development for ICS and started working on JB.
so yeah any day now you will be surprised to come here and see a JB ROM =)
cant wait !
I hope so! ICS seems so boring now that JB is a reality lol. I'm pretty excited too.

While I'm not a a dev, I believe that a JB rom will only be released once the ICS Kernel Source is released. Due to the supposed similarity between ICS and JB, the ICS kernel source will enable building a JB rom for the Note quite simple (I would suppose).
So, expect them around the time the ICS Kernel source is released. When that is released, we will also be getting official CM9 builds.

My hope for JB (and the ICS kernel source) is to get a little better battery life on this otherwise great phone.

The CyanogenMod team is "actively working" on a CM10 ROM for the I717.
It's in the OP of their CM9 post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28889254.

just wait! It will come when the devs are ready to release it. Enjoy some delicious ICS in the meantime.
I'm sure it will be a better version of some branded JB upgrades, but my concern is how good will the S-Pen be supported?

Jelly Bean development.

Okay, here I'm. I'm new to xda & this is my 1st post. We all know that our s5830 has already tasted Jelly Bean via cyanogenmod/aokp/aosp with bugs in it Of course, those developments are great but not stable It's been a dream of every user to have Jelly Bean for daily use on their ace. Maclaw started it all up first but unfortunately he's off now So the thing is development of JB for our ace on stock base or something like that but stable, bug free & fast Any dev for ace can take it as an interest/challenge & make it possible... I know it's easier said than done but yes, it has always been a dream. Additionally it would be just great if its made to look close to the stock JB by google... So here we go...

....?
you DO know how to google?? We already have a "working" CM10 (i use it for daily use. its laggy as faq if you open something, but everything besides camcorder is working)
use this or the "light" or whatever builds. afaik they all "look like stock"
and Ace will never have a "Stock-JB". a "selfmade-stock" is...u know...

I already know that there can't be any stock jb for ace The jb rom stated by you, I already have it but I want a rom with all working features. You might have seen the screenies of galaxy nexus jb, they look just awesome ! What I meant to say is a developed rom that looks like an official update & has all the working features without lag... ! I know it's hard doing it but not impossible !
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
JB was never meant to run on our -say it how it is- sh!tty hardware. if you mean something that looks like an official SAMSUNG update, i think there is sth. like that already here.
@performance: i think there is a little room for optimization, but it will never run like on the latest NEXUS or Galaxy S
Agreed. Our phone hardware is a serious let down. Gonna buy a Nexus 4 this dec. . So desperate to have it in hands, I can barely wait ! And hey, in the meanwhile maclaw is back on deving. He's left xda & never returning but deving @ maclaw.pl ; hopefully he has the potential to bring something like what I spoke Just hope it comes true...

GB or ICS or JB stock rom only

Hi
I am running xxlsj for a few days and its good with Nelp4 modem.
I was wondering for an optimal performance os for galaxy s2. Will it be ginger bread or ics or jb?
I know there are custom roms kernels etc available but I am only interested in stock roms so please keep it to the subject.
Any thoughts?

for battery life: Gingerbread
for performance: Jelly Bean (although there's only AOSP builds afaik)
I'd go with a ICS stock-based ROM like WanamLite
If you want only stock roms, go with ICS. It's more recent and have many options that GB don't have.
Notice that really official Samsung stock, there isn't any JB versions yet, but Samsung claims that will release it until the end of this year.
There is a Samsung JellyBean leaked that you can use, but it's not an original stock release, keep that in mind.
Search for xxlsj on google and you will find your below statement incorrect in regards to jellybeans for gs2. I am already using jelly beans leaked "official" version.
Thanks for your input though.

Leaked versions are not releases.
My response was for dewalla's original post which he has edited since.

How about if we leave the cynicism on English language itself and focus on real question?

I take that to mean him saying: "but it's not an original stock release"; and you saying: "Search for xxlsj on google and you will find your below statement incorrect in regards to jellybeans for gs2. I am already using jelly beans leaked "official" version."
He specifically has the word "release" in his post. So he mentioned it. You seem to dispute the existence of a "release" by saying his statement is incorrect, and you are using the leak as evidence of this.
There is no cynicism here. I interpreted what you said in the context of the response to his post. If that's not what you meant, then clarify.

Any 4.2.2 roms out asides from cm10.1 ?

Been reading a lot about the latest version out 4.2.2 and all I saw are positive feedbacks. From extra smoothness to extra battery life to a lot of fixes. Any roms out there venturing in 4.2.2 asides from cm10.1 ?
I know this sounds noobish but dont wanna ask every rom dev of his future plans. Thats why I asked in here.

[Q] Why is CyanogenMod cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY-quincyatt the only 10.2?

I am using CyanogenMod's cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY-quincyatt on my Note and I am wondering why it was the only 10.2 nightly offered? There seems to be continued development and releases of the 10.1 series of ROM's. What have I missed here? I runs pretty good on my phone I have some issues with the screen coming on from sleeping or just being turned off (the screen not the phone) and some occasional random reboots. I am excited to see the 10.2 line progress but I guess I'm just confused as to why there was only one nightly released and the 10.1's continue. Anyone have any thoughts or insight? Thanks.

Dude how the hell am I not being considerate I asked a simple freaking question and you are acting like I'm slamming someone for something. I never said or tried to do any such thing. I merely asked a question. If you have nothing decent or useful to add move along and stop trying to be a PITA. I've been on this site for many years and do far more reading than posting and have always been thankful and gracious. I'm 43 not some 16 year old newb that hasn't got a clue. I'm using the above mentioned ROM. I have used CyanogenMod since the 7.0 releases and it always seemed like when they released a new version nightly, the only progressed with the new version for nightly release. The stable release is a different story. I actually read this on their forum just yesterday I think.

I have been curious about that too. Never seen that before out of CM, however, I have a Nexus 7 3G, and there is no 4.3 CM for it either, so don't feel left out.
I think nightly roms are experimental where they update an issue or a problem gets fix after they get a log cat...they are not official as of yet.I think that's what they mean by nightly...if u try the new pacman 4.3 that one says OFFICIAL..im a tmo user so I can't flash it yet...hopefully a dev can get us a 4.3 official rom on my end.... Hope what I wrote helps...

I'm running the 10.2 nightly from 8/14 as well, and have been pretty happy with it (HUGE thanks to the developers, so much better than the crap stock ROM I was running, which Samsung/AT&T only updated once over a year ago). This one is 4.3, which is very nice, and pretty much the same as the CM 10.2 (JB 4.3) I'm running on my ASUS TF700T tablet. But, I was also curious about if/when any new nightlies might be released in this 10.2 line. I'm not complaining at all, just curious, since there are a few buggy things (mainly what was mentioned by the OP, often doesn't wake up on first try, and some random reboots).

Ok, that makes sense, it is a pretty old device. I'm glad they put out the 10.2 build first though, since it is working pretty well with the exception of a few minor issues (at least for me).

No.
A nightly can be anything from bug fixes to adding in a completely new feature to try. Once those get worked out it moves up the release stability chain.
Official means whatever build, nightly, release candidate, stable release was compiled by a member of the dev team.
Unofficial is someone taking their (whatever Rom dev team it may be) git source and compiling a build themselves.

Thanks. I guess I wanted to stick to what I could get "officially" via the CM site, but maybe I'll check these out.
That's understandable.
The builds are identical though using the same github source that the cm build servers do.
You can set it up yourself and build too. The instructions are in the cm wiki for quincyatt.
