Stuck in bootloop and need help fast - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Ok so
Rooted
S-off
hboot 1.12.2222
was running Mean-rom 4.4
Then tried to install the new apk fix for ringtones
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900629
Phone rebooted then then continues to be stuck in boot loop.
What I have tried:
Factory reset in bootloader
clear storage in bootloader
reinstall TWRP to get in recovery as if I choose recover in bootloader it just boot loops.
Tried to install the RUU but it can not connect during boot loops and errors out.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Try fastboot wipe recovery then fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, if recovery loops back to bootloader then it's corrupt. Make sure you flash the latest twrp

All I see in fastboot option on bootloader is
bootloader
reboot
reboot bootloader
powerdown
am I missing something?

Those are fastboot commands, you use the terminal
fastboot wipe recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You should be able to boot into recovery afterwards

What terminal? I'm a bit lost here

Do you have adb tools or Android SDK?

C:\android-sdk-windows

Open cmd prompt by opening SDK folder and then hold shift and right click, it will say open cmd prompt or something similar I don't recall if adb is in separate folder but I don't think so. From there you can plug in the phone in fastboot and type fastboot devices, it will tell you if you are connected or not. Download twrp and place it in the same folder. Then you can use the commands I listed earlier

Get an error see attached

Now that I am in fasboot usb on the bootloader the RUU can connect to phone via USB.
If I just flashed that and started all over would that work and do I need to unroot and relock before doing the RUU?
Still not having any luck on terminal so far.

Sorry I was busy arguing with gf, it seems you aren't where you need to be if fastboot isn't recognized, I haven't had access to my own pc in quite a while so I'm having trouble remembering if there is another directory

got fastboot working but get this with your first command

That's because I haven't used wipe in fastboot in quite a while, I'm sure I'm just confused on wipe and erase but you shouldn't need it, the first command should be fastboot erase recovery but like I said you shouldn't really have to, it's just like formatting before flashing the recovery, just fastboot flash recovery openrecovery.img or what ever the name is for the twrp file

Ran
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (7356 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.112s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 1.796s]
finished. total time: 2.912s
Hit recovery and we we still are in boot loop

Relock bootloader and run ruu fastboot oem lock

Thanks recovery just loops, could never get in.

Ok this is where I am at (see OP)
We tried flashing TWRP and original recovery via ADB
We tried running RUU
I'm still stuck in a boot loop....

I am having a similar problem stuck in bootloader. I relocked to go to the new firmware and now am stuck in the bootloader. I can access adb but can't access recovery. I am now relocked. Can I unlock again with a fastboot command?

If you unlocked manually, HTC sends the unlock code code just use fastboot to flash, if you used regawmod, just run it again. I don't know if regawmod will recognize the phone in boot loader though

RECOVERY IMG won't push to device

None of the existing tutorials or threads have accurate information on how to push the twrp recovery.
Following the very VAGUE instructions results in the fastboot cmd just listing the instructions instead of doing it's job.
Anyone have the correct commands to flash any working recovery or is there one?
Sure would like to flash a recovery of some sort. Anyone know how? Posting the existing methods is fail since they fail.
completely incorrect, followed instrucions precisely, albeit sounds like he skipped a hundred steps, so it's no wonder this method fails
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192245
anyone else actually flash a recovery?
This is what I did:
First I renamed the recovery to avoid typos to TWRP.img
Second I made sure Fastboot.exe and the twrp.img file were in the same directory as the adb files.
Third, I booted my phone to the hboot and selected fastboot.
Fourth, I opened a command prompt in that directory and typed: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Then hit enter and bam!!! You have a custom recovery. Make sure you do a nand backup before you play with your phone.

The link you posted is step by step. Is there any particular question you have that wasn't covered in the post? Not trying to be a ****, I just need to know exactly where you need help. And yes, I have s-off, recovery, and root access.
I figured it out - it's not clear that you have to acutally TURN OFF YOUR PHONE AND RESTART IN FASTBOOT MODE.
I found another thread that was clear. Now...
How do I boot into TWRP? lol jesus.
Make sure fastboot is off in settings>>>power, then turn phone off and power back on holding power and volume down.

What directory do I put fastboot.exe and recovery.img in?
Any. But in order for the commands from this thread to work it should be in the same as your fastboot command. Usually /androidsdk/tools or possibly /platform-tools. Which ever has the fastboot, put it there.
Otherwise make sure you declare the path in the fastboot execution command.
Thanks got it. SO how do you boot into twrp, without booting to bootloader first?

[q] help!!!!!! Bricked e3d recovery jacked up stuck in bootloader!!!

For people who came for an answer, here it is.
download android sdk
download fastboot drivers
get clockworkmod img and rename to imgfile.img
put img in adb tools
put adb, adbwinapi, fastboot, and the img file in c:/Android
plug your phone to the computer
enter the bootloader
click on recovery or fastboot doesnt matter since both will now take you to fastboot
goto computer
type in run in start menu
type cmd in run and hit enter
type cd c:\Android
type fastboot boot imgfile.img
you are now in recovery
go to mounts and storage and mount your device as a disk drive
download any rom to your computer doesnt really matter and put in on your sdcard. If you already have a rom on there then just use that.
unmount your phone
go to wipe data/factory reset and when it finishes flash the rom
once rom is done flashing reboot into android again.
your phone is partially fixed
now go to the market (if you flashed cm then flash the gapps.zip) and download "rom manager"
Then click on download clockworkmod 5.0.0.2 or something like that (first option)
Now go to rom manager and restore your backup that u made (If there was 1 before)
now it will be fixed and your bootloader will take u to recovery instead of fastboot when you click recovery xD
thanks xda
I flashed a rom and the rom must have been corrupted or something and now my phone is stuck rebooting and when I try to go to recovery or any option it takes me to fastboot so now my phone is basically bricked
Your phone is not bricked since your still able to turn it on.
Can you enter fasboot USB?
Send from my Evo 3D using Tapatalk
well it doesnt really turn on its a boot loop but whatever and fastboot is weird it doesnt want to work.
If your bootloader is unlocked make sure you flash the boot.img through fastboot and make sure you wipe

Are you S-Off or S-On? If S-Off, download a PG86IMG.zip of a recovery, and use your bootloader to flash recovery. From that point, just restore a backup or reflash a ROM. If you're not S-Off, I'd say you should try running an RUU, since you can't get fastboot to work. But I think you need to relock your device to run an RUU (if you're S on/ HTC Unlocked), so you'd still need fastboot. Do you have a different USB cable to try? I've seen them fail before even though they still work to charge.

Sounds like the drivers arn't installed right.. Like you said if he is S-ON and relocked he can run a RUU exe if he is CDMA...
If you are s off then you just need to reload another recovery. And then access a backup of a rom! Or just flash a new one. I had a issue just like this yesterday where my recovery was broken for some reason and had to go from twrp. 2.1 back to 1.1.1 and load another rom.

I am cdma, s-off unlocked with revolutionary kernel 1.4

Ok, fail, i dont think i hav fastboot drivers downloading now
now cmd is stuck on "sending recovery"
Did you place a copy of the img into your fast boot folder and one in your adb tools folder ???

[Q] Can't get past Bootloader, Recovery, or HTC boot screen with s-on

I'm a nitwit and tried to install a rom with s-on. I now get stuck on the HTC loading/boot screen and never leave it. I can access the bootloader, fastboot, and recovery fine however. Is there a way for me to get either s-off or boot my phone again?
Thanks
This is assuming that you're S-on and running Windows.
You need to install adb. After it is installed, open the command prompt and navigate to where you installed adb.
Ex: d:\phones\rezound\bootloader\andriod\
Next, open up your ROM and extract the boot.img file to where you installed adb.
Then, boot your phone into the bootloader and connect your USB cable.
Once you have fastboot usb displayed on the phone, enter this command into the command prompt and hit enter: fastboot flash boot boot.img
At that point, reboot the phone (fastboot reboot).
Or just use adb/fastboot and boot into recovery, extract the recovery.img file from your recovery of choice (Amon Ra, TWRP, CWM) and place it in the adb directory, then type "fastboot boot recovery.img" and flash the ROM again... doing fastboot boot recovery.img is in some ways giving you temporary S-OFF and will allow the rom to flash with the boot image. Also remember that on first boot, many roms will appear to freeze for 2-3 minutes or even longer in the boot process, make sure to give the initial boot at least 10 minutes before concluding something failed.

Things kinda went sideways when I tried flashing a MOD without making a backup. I know what you're thinking, you can make fun of me all you want lol.
I'm only writing this post after having spent hours reading other posts. I'm kind of confused at this point, what is the easiest way to get my phone working again.
At the moment, I don't have a working ROM installed and I don't have access to my clockworkmod custom recovery. I only have Fastboot to work with. My understanding is that I have the following options:
Somehow Unlock my RELOCKED bootloader and flash a custom ROM
Find the original Rogers Stock ROM for my phone
I'm not sure how to go about doing the first option. And I don't know where I can find the Stock ROM for my phone.
If you have any info you can shed my way, I'd really appreciate it! And if there are similar posts already existing, I apologize for making a new one. I just didn't find anything that speaks to my exact problem out there.
UPDATE: I figured it out! Thank God!! I just had to "fastboot oem rebootRUU" then unlock bootloader, then install custom recover, then custom ROM.

Hi shanewilliamson,
1. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode
2. Connect to PC (assuming you have the fastboot kit on your PC)
3. On the CMD window, type "fastboot oem rebootRUU" and hit Enter.
4. Your phone will ask you if you want to unlock the bootloader. Choose YES
5. Reboot back into fastboot mode. Download your favorite Recovery from the internet, i.e. Clockworkmod or TWRP.
6. Flash Recovery into your phone (tons of tutorials out there on how do this)
7. Reboot your phone into Recovery.
8. Flash your favorite ROM
Hope this helps!

Download Canadian 1.55 HBOOT recovery: http://goo.gl/2Kntxz
Make sure you're in the bootloader go into fastboot and make sure the downloaded image is in the same folder as your fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Go into bootloader and then choose Factory Reset - let that finish running <<< Important!
Phone will go out and start bootlooping. Now power off and go back to bootloader mode:
Go into fastboot

fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Can't get into recovery to flash updated rom

Hi all,
I appear to have done something wrong when flashing my device with boombox and flashing twrp. I seem not to be able to access recovery so I can update my boombox rom. I have tried button combinations, I have tried fastboot boot twrp.img in bootloader which just reboots my system, I have tried booting directly from home screen using adb which registers an error and I have tried re-flashing but unfortunately I cannot access recovery.
Any way I can get into recovery without erasing my data?

If you're rooted, give the reboot recovery app you installed after bootloader unlock root privileges.
If not then use the exact same PC ADB commands to boot to TWRP like during bootloader unlock.
I'm confused why you mention flashing TWRP after Boombox. Surely you didn't do that. You already had TWRP.
I am rooted, Recovery reboot just reboots the phone, I have tried to get into twrp by reinstalling but again does the same things just reboots the system after the corruption warning screen. I've also tried to install from the bootloader with the fastboot boot twrp.img command but it simply says waiting for device.
Sorry turns out I was flashing the wrong file from another tutorial, I was flashing 3.1.1 instead of 3.2.1

Then you didn't follow my bootloader unlock and root guide. I never mention that other TWRP, much less link to it.
You're going to have to load into Download mode and use fastboot commands, but you say you couldn't get past flashing TWRP.
Uninstall the LG Mobile Driver if you have them, then reinstall.
1st, reboot into OS, then open up Device Manager and change view to Show hidden devices. You should see a new category named 'ADB Interface' and underneath that 'Fastboot Interface (Google USB ID)'.
If not, you will also see 'ADB Device' for Other Devices category:
right click that to update driver software ---> Browse my computer for driver software ---> Let me pick from a list... ---> Show all Devices ---> Have Disk ---> Browse ---> C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LG Mobile Driver ---> 'lgandbus' ---> 'LGE ADB Mobile Interface'
Download adb/fastboot software, download Joan TWRP 3.2.1 img file and place it in adb/fastboot folder, then send your phone into Download mode:
Open up cmd and type the following after changing directory to Adb/fastboot folder: fastboot devices (see if your device is there), fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img or (whatever file is named).img, then fastboot boot TWRP.img or (whatever file is named).img
