I found the WhatsApp failed to work (SMS verification fail) some custom ROMs like below :

I have contact WhatsApp tech support mant times but they cannot help. They suggest me to ask the ROM authors. That implies WhatsApp dont like people to use ROM released by XDA experts ?
Can we conclude that : If you like custom ROM, switch to other software like LINE or KakaoTalk ... ?
Without XDA, we cannot have ICS or Jellybeam on our old device like Galaxy S or Nexus One.

I got the same problem, cannot verify Whatsapp and their customer service doesn't help at all.
All the email they reply only ask u to reinstall the app which won't solve the problem.
This is really bad and if they start to ask ppl to pay for this app, that's ridiculous.

.. I had the same problem I was looking apps the internet and finally found this ... it worked for me I hope this help u ..
Uninstall Whatsapp+.
Install original Whatsapp from Play Store.
Go through the setup into the main conversation screen and chat with some friends.
Backup your conversation in Option > Settings > Chat Settings > Backup conversations
Uninstall original Whatsapp.
Install Whatsapp+

I got the same problem with whatsapp on my rooted Sprint HTC ONE running Benny's 4.3 a couple of days ago. I tried to install viber today and it also said it needs the sms verification. I didn't receive any sms so i used the call option. Once again, i waited five minutes and then uninstalled viber because I am so impatient and then some more minutes later I finally got the call. I wrote down the verification number and then tried reinstalling whatsapp, but this time the sms verification worked instantly! Hope this helps!

HI, i have installed and rstored whatsapp a million times or so, when flashing and switching between roms. last night i tried something funny, and it cost me tooo much.
I tried to install whatsapp for another number(my phone is dual sim), while sms verification was happening, it got registered via my previously registered whatsapp no. Now even after i deleted the new no. account,i am still not able to get my old account back. when i give my old number, it doesn ask for sms verification, and goes to local backup directly, but fails there and throws error. on the other hand, i can verify the account, but cannot restore all my messages.
Please help, as my msgs are quite important..!

I downloaded watsapp on my ROM
And wen installing a pop out came u have installed
Custom ROM and watsapp is unsupported I clicked OK
Then at verification it keeps on loading.
Its not..issue on watsapp hike also ...I thought it would
Be ROM problem so I change ROM still it's not working pls

Hi guys, need your help. I can't seem to be able to activate Viber via SMS or Phone Call code. Each time I put in my phone number, the number will not be 'saved' in Viber and thus, the activation code will not work. I been trying to clear cache, reinstall, delete all memory from viber but still it is not working.
I am so lost and any suggestion on how I can activate Viber on my phone?
p/s It was working fine until yesterday as I did a full wipe on the phone. After installing back, everything goes hair wire!

I installed whatsapp but it has been stuck at initializing forever. I have tried deleting it and installing a previous version, but it does not work too. I really need help!

I got HTC One X and just flashed a couple of custom ROMs and found the same thing. I few other guys also experiencing it. We think it must be a whatsapp thing and are hoping it will resolve itself in time!

if this problem persists and u need whatsapp do as following:
1- install whatsapp version 2.8 and enter ur cell number..of course it will fail to initialize
2- don't delete whatsapp just replace it with the newer version
this will give u access to chats but you'll have no contacts so they have to talk to you first
it's a half solution but better than nothing
P.S: 2.8 is available on any file sharing websites just google it

Download whatsapp pk from http://www.whatsapp.com/android/
Keep whatsapp preinstalled from playstore. Now install the apk and replace the application. And here you go, whatsapp is working for you.:good:

First of all, i did not find Micromax HD A116 relevant forum that is why i think this should be the good place to ask my question.
I recently bought this phone and after successfully installing Whatsapp latest version 2.9.4x, i can send and receive messages,
Issue : but when i try to send picture/images using attach option from my whatsapp i get an error "Image Preview is not available please try again" when i try to send Image directly from gallery's share option it sends some audio file from somewhere, i didnt even find that audio file in my phone using x-plore, i am very much confused what to do next. any idea?
Please share your thoughts.

How did you manage to register it?? Because Whatsapp just could not go past the verification for me. Came up with a error message everytime.
Works fine for me, did you try with a new network or uninstall/re-install Whatsapp?

i uninstall Whatsapp and install WhatsApp again
This has fixed my WhatsApp problem.
For unknown audio file i advice to go for any good mobile antivirus.
I had the same problem. Just removed it and installed it again. works fine now.

Whether ur phone asking for reset or might be u must have some issues with network..go to nearest network centre...and do update ur sim
rest uploading pics..accept gallery do download any other pic art..like picasa pixler or etc..i hope ur problem will get solved

well, nothing special, just a lot of my friend using this chat app and there is a game so i can play with friends of mine and it requires email, i just wondering if something wrong with my device, because my friend had registering email without problem, though i've already done reinstall, restart, even factory reset, well i have no idea about this, thank you :good:

I'm having this problem too, on an Incredible 2. I think I've already registered, but the app gives me this system error whether I choose log-in or register. Doesn't help that there is no contact info to be found on their website.

I have a problem with whatsapp:
A week or two ago, i got a new handy number, I changed the number in whatsapp, but whatsapp says Install the normal Version of Whatsapp - I used WA+ .
I did it and before i did it, i created some backups.
I have now many files like this one: msgstore-2014-08-04.1.db.crypt7
When I install Whatsapp, it says we found a backup file - but few min. later it failed...
Can anyone help me? I want my chats back -.-
I tried the most things ... and I rooted my smartphone now and I installed today cyanogen mod...
