Stuck on bootloop - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed a zip on recovery (Note 2 gallery) on stock JB and ended up in a bootloop. That's fine i reflashed the ROM but still ends up in a bootloop. Everything starts then goes to Android is upgrading (installing apps) then back to samsung logo..Now my question is: is there a quick fix for this or should i just wipe?i have some pics i didnt save will the wipe procedure erase the pics as well?
I'm runing a nandroid back up maybe i can extract the pictures from it?

Recovery mounts and storage .
FORMAT cache system date preload .

[Q] How to remove a ROM so I can flash with a different ROM?

I flashed my S2 yesterday with CheckROM and I like it and everything but I'd like to try MIUI today but I'm not sure how I would go about this? I think I may have to wipe my phone (already have a backup from before I flashed with CheckROM) and then just install MIUI like I did CheckROM? Correct me if there is another way or I'm wrong.
Just go into clock work recovery, wipe data cache, flash miui.

By formats system do you mean wipes everything or just cache?
Let's see.......
You wipe data, cache but your phone can boot, because the OS remains.
You wipe system OS got removed, you can't boot phone.
Wiping system is the cleanest flash you can do.

Soft bricked.. I guess :s

I had ICS.. backed with titanium and upgraded to JB with Liquidsmooth's rom... however I failed to read that titanium backedup contacts couldn't restore from ICS to JB... after reinstalling Liquidsmooth I thought the error might be with the ROM so I installed Omega's JB rom... nice bootscreen... pity it stayed in a bootloop... I then reinstalled it from cwm after removing the battery (a few times) and getting into recovery.... however it remained the same...
so.. I get into odin.. PDA -> ChainFire's "CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.tar" worried that all I've don'e is put a ics kernal into a JB rom... I boot into recovery and install an old (possibly original root) ROM... now it boots past the animated logo just stays on the static -Samsung- logo... I can boot into odin.. not tried to boot into recovery...
but I don't have a recovery rom... (I have searched)...
could someone point me in the right direction please
Thanks
Have you tried wiping cache and dalvik, maybe try factory reset.
If all that fails this is what I do:
Boot into recovery
Go to mounts and storage
Format cache, System, data and internal sd card. (of course you will lose all data)
Then flash a full stock firmware package through Odin.
Done

I found a stock 4.04 (ICS) rom... still soft bricked... I'll wipe everything except internal SD card... see if that works.. else guess I got no other option :s... I am pretty much backed up so I'm not completely fussed.. but I know there will be something that was missed...
didn't have to do a full wipe... but when I power-off it still reboots... I have to remove battery to power off?
Just do a wipe from Recovery, often the problem then not.

[Q] soft brick - bootloop

hi there i have had my device rooted for awhile now and all of the sudden it just started to get stuck in a bootloop, just displaying the "samsung galaxy s III GT-I9300T" screen then goes black and repeats
i have a sgs3 GT-I9300T (from telstra, australia if it matters)
i rooted with "CF-Auto-Root" which worked fine and was working fine for atleast a month
i dont have a backup (yes im a noob/idiot for not creating a backup but didnt think there was any reason to)
i have tried flashing the latest firmware from sammobile using odin (with only auto reboot and F. reset time checked)
i can still access recovery (factory or custom from flashing in odin)
i've already tried a few suggestions from some posts on here but alot of them arent for the international/I9300T version so wasnt game enough to try them out in fear of fully bricking it
if anyone can help out with what i should try that would be great
i would even settle for resetting flash counter and system status back to 0/offical so that i can try and return it
current state is:
Custom binary download: Yes (3 counts)
Current binary: Samsung Official
System status: Custom
Did you try factory reset from recovery before/after reflashing stock?

yes and even installed CWM recovery to clear the "dalvik cache"
Here is thought
Pull out sdcard, better format in FAT32, copy few ROM into it by using card reader or other usable phone which has sdcard slot.
Flash any of newest recovery such as TWRP personally suggested, Backup current ROM in case of further needed and then
Factory reset, format /system partition, wipe cache / Dalvik cache, and then flash new ROM too see if it works.
Remember format system partition!

download this file http://checkrom.com/threads/resurrection-odin-checkrom-evohd™-v4.896/
get into odin and flash this file into your phone through the download mode ... if everything works it should boot into cwm recovery .. then wipe data\factory reset , wipe cache , wipe dalvik cache and reboot ... wait 15 mins and it should work!! Good Luck!
woot this worked!
i tried re downloading the file first like qtwrk suggested and reflashing it in odin which still returned the same result but i then downloaded this one and did it and it worked
i got into the os downloaded triangle away and reset the counter then flashed the telstra one again so that it was right back to factory default firmware which is what i wanted, will proberly root it again but will def make sure i get a full backup right away incase of any issues later on.
thank you all for your help
hye me again just thought id write an update on my situation
it appears that the phone had stuffed up again this time tho couldnt get into recovery mode but could still get into download mode
i didnt bother doing the same thing again instead i just took it back to telstra and they replaced it, and they replaced it with the 305 model so worked out alright in the end

Endless Bootloop no matter what I do...

Hi Everyone...
Today, my phone froze while playing radio from InTune so I took out the battery and re-booted it.
It seems that it was not in a bootloop .....
I tried wiping cache, etc.. and still it would not work.
I tried re-installing a backup, even tried installing a fresh rom over top..... Nothing...
No matter what I try, Wiping, or re-flashing a new rom, it just wont get out of its bootloop.
I hope my system partition is not damaged.... because the internal SD is fine.
Im was on Turkbey v17 with my own mods & theme w/ Perseus Kernel 32 .. Everything was working perfect till now.
Anyone have any ideas?
Via recovery Format sd card data cache system preload .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom via Odin .

Hi,
Do this, this wipes ALL of your data!
- Flash a stock Samsung ROM
- Go in recovery mode, reset your device.
If this doesn't work, then it's very probable your device is broken.

Thanks to the both of you!
I backed up my internal SD content and then reset my phone from Recovery also formatted everything...
I Then installed stock rom - (which still had bootloop) - I formatted the entire thing again & did a Hard reset.
Then I took an old recovery backup and flashed that in CWM.... That did it! It now is working with last months backup.
It seems like the system Cache was completely corrupt and only a full format & reset would fix it.
Thanks again guys.
Problem solved.

[Q] Flashed modded camera through CWM, now I'm stuck on boot animation

Hi guys,
First, let me start off with some information about my setup:
Phone: Galaxy S3 i9300
Rom: Omega v5.0 AOPK (No modded kernel, modem or anything; "stock" Omega 5.0 AOPK)
I downloaded and flashed (via CWM) this camera which I downloaded via Omega Files. I then went on to boot and got stuck on bootanimation. I took out my battery, reinserted, booted in recovery and cleared /data, /cache and dalvik cache. Rebooted the phone, and yet again it's stuck on boot animation.
Any tips on what I might've done wrong / what I can do to fix it?
Restore the nandroid you made just before you flashed the mod, if you didn't then do a super wipe and flash your whole ROM again - pray that your efs folder and partition is still intact.

How do I do a super-wipe? I have an EFS-backup so I guess that part should be safe.
Could I reflash the rom through recovery (which still works)?
If you have Philz recovery then that option is built in, otherwise format system, data, cache, preload and delete the android folder of your internal sd card.
Flash the ROM either through recovery or Odin.

Reflashing through recovery worked. Great! Thank you so much
I suppose a nandroid backup is in order. Is there any particular way that's best for such a task, or can I simply do it from CWM?
Get the ROM back to how you like it, make a nandroid in CWM then repeat regularly - simple.
