[Q] Data Call Failure - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I woke up this morning and it appeared like some sort of radio update happened while I was sleeping. Didn't think anything of it, everything seemed fine until I left wifi area and realized I had no data at all. I've restored previous nandroid, wiped dalvik and cache. I have no idea what to do at this point. I'm on Mean ROM 4.4 and haven't had a problem like this ever before. Please help.

If you can, call sprint to find out if a tower is down in your area. I've been getting sh*tty 3g for a week now and counting because of a tower upgrade for lte

It's not that. I did check with Sprint regarding network and it's nothing like that. Plus my fiance has exactly the EVO with Sprint and she's had no problems at all. She's rooted but on the stock rom. I just did a full wipe and still nothing. It's just like a data radio doesn't even exist.

Try using EPST to reset your data profile. ##3282# if I remember correctly. Then press menu and restore.
I had a similar issue but my phone couldn't take EPST codes either, and even Sprint couldn't fix it so I had to get a replacement.

Thanks, it's asking me for a password, do you know if that's the MSL number?

You could call and tell them if they can send you "refresh signals" to your phone. That help me when I called, she was really helpful and did that for me.

Yea I saw your post earlier. I'm in NJ outside of Philly, and I did call originally and asked specifically about the towers and network in general and that wasn't it. Thanks though. I'll call them again and see what else they can do over the phone.

Yes, the password is the MSL.

[SOLVED]SMS Error - Radio Interface Resource Shortage

SOLUTION: You need to call Sprint (from another phone - 1.888.211.4727) and tell them you can't call or text and you are getting the error "SMS Error - Radio Interface Resource Shortage - Cause Code: 64, Error Class: 2" They wil refresh you on the network, takes about 5 mins. Hope this helps
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone having this issue after Revolutionary? I NEVER had this problem before and it started happening to me even before I put my own ROM on. I cannot send ANY texts. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem and what you did to fix it. Tried a wipe and reflash and still happening. Any ideas?
Also: Cause Code: 64 Error Class: 2
Your going to have to call Sprint. There is someone who asked how to manually do it, check the Q&A area for a thread called Manually reset or something like that.
I'dink link this to you, but I'm on the XDA App
Appreciate my help? Thank me
I'd get on the phone with Sprint, they probably can fix that easily. I'm sorry bud that sucks, I didn't have that problem and never have.

Hopefully that works for you. If not, last resort will be calling Sprint. They'll fix the problem.

I guess I will have to call Sprint. I tried the first code and it didn't work. Maybe the others would have but I'm going to bed now and I may just have Sprint deal with it in the morning
Driving my crazy. Does it constantly when connected to the air rave. Rebooted that thing 20 times.
Sent from my HTC Evo 3D.
Same thing happened to me after rooting. I was also unable to make calls or send SMS. Got the error code 16 when trying to make a call. I stayed on the line and was connected to a Sprint rep who told me they reset my info which fixes the problem. Told me to turn my phone off for 30 seconds then back on. calls and sms working again.
Sprint Rep was on the ball and new what to do as soon as he started talking. I assume they got a lot of these calls in the last 12 hours.
I'm not rooted or attached to an airave and I've been getting this error since I bought it yesterday ..becoming more and more disappointed with this thing
sent from my DAMN 3D!!
it can only fix by contacting sprint
same thing happen when i got s-off, i just got off from chatting on sprint and they fix the problem i told them the issue and they asked me to turn off my phone and take out the battery then she asked me to turn it back on and and to dial this number 1888 546-0348 and then voice prompt said "your phone is now activated" and now its working fine
it happened to me too after I did s-off. I could not get my sms working and did reset and everything. I ended up flashing the stock image available here in the forums. I guess I will wait for the tool to get out of beta and if not just wait for htc unlock. OK fail on my part, I just checked this morning and my calls are still not working lol. I need to call sprint I guess.

I was getting bunch of errors, including this one, so I wasn't able to send/receive calls or texts. I tried all of the unlock codes but nothing worked. Once I called sprint, they fixed it immediately and I've had no problems since.
Sprint fixed my error code also

Edit: Entered ##72786# into the keypad and it reprogrammed service. It's fixed.
I have a Sprint S3. It's currently running the Blazer 1.6 ROM. Wi-Fi works, but there is zero mobile signal or connection. Through ##786#, my MSID and mobile # are there. I have no idea what's going on.
Check out the screen shots. If someone knows what to do I'd be appreciative. I've scoured the internet for hours. I tried changing modems. Nothing has worked.
You can see there is absolutely no signal in the upper right corner.
Here you can see the signal strength is -120 dBm 99 asu.

I had the same problem recently after running Phantom's ROM and then restoring a stock ROM backup.
No matter what I flashed I couldn't get my signal back. I tried flashing Odin Factory Stock ROM,, flashed modems, flashed other ROM's....nothing worked.
I even dialed that re-activation number you mentioned in your post.
I contacted Sprint via chat I they could not figure out why my phone didn't have any kind of connection even after refreshing services on their part etc.
FINALLY, I took it to a Sprint Store and they fixed it. I just told them that I did not have a connection after doing a factory reset.
Unfortunately, begin an idiot, I just walked out of there and didn't ask them what the problem was and how they fixed it. I can still call them and check but screw it, I'm just happy my phone works.
I hope you can get your phone to work.
Good Luck!

I fixed it! How awesome is that!? So I read some more random forms looking for other hit's. Came across one that mentioned ##72786#, which didn't help the individual. However when I tried it, it worked. It's apparently a new Sprint reprogramming code that only resets service parameters. Phone automatically rebooted, now I'm golden. Even learned a few things along the way. This should be stickyed.
So if you have no signal, no service or no mobile network on Sprint, try ##72786# before flashing, resetting, restoring, crying or returning to the Sprint store.

Non Rooted - Call Failure

A friend of mine has been having a problem with his phone. Its not rooted. This seems to be a known problem as he had this a year ago, he went to the sprint store and the guy flashed something that resolved it. He has data but no signal bars. When he makes a call he gets "call origination attempt failed" error. His phone was stolen, and he just got the replacement and now the problem is back. Tried updating profile/PRL to no avail. Kind of a strange problem so I figure someone would have the answer here. Any ideas?
HW Version is 003
Software 3.15.651.16.710RD
Baseband is 1.12.11.1119
Kernel 3.4.10-g014d33e
Tell him to try a factory reset it. Then call sprint and have then reset the data connection.

Sorry - I left that out, we tried that as well. No change. Whats weird is the phone worked for a day, then stops, just like when he bought it new. Im guessing this doesnt happen rooted, since im sure 99% of the population on here is rooted. Supposedly its a common problem when the phone isnt rooted.
Rooted or not has no bearing on being able to make calls.
If the phone is fully stock, sprint has tools to see what's going on with it.
Has he tried refreshing his profile? Does he have data?

He has data which is weird. Just cant make calls. Browses the web just fine. He already called sprint who has no idea lol.
Sprint should have him try to clear his config. I can't remember the code off hand, ##786#, or ##72786#. It basically wipes the NAM profile settings associated with his account from the phone. On the next reboot, an OTA activation occurs.
This may be destructive in that one of those does a factory wipe too. I can't remember which.
He should ask for level2/3 support if the first tier person is helpless.

I do remember the last time, we did that and it made no change. The only thing that fixed it is he was told to go to a sprint store because they flash something special and it corrects the issue permanently. Which it did for him, until they sent him a new phone. Very weird issue.
If you've tried all the ideas posted here then I'd recommend just taking the phone into sprint or have them send your friend a new phone.

As a latest update - Sprint sent him now his 3rd phone and its been working for a little over a week. Guess it was hardware after all.

[Q] no data after flashing factory tot file. g3

Im having trouble with my lg g3. It was on the sprint network before and my data worked fine, even after a factory reset.. But i had to do a full flash of the stock rom and now im getting no data whatsoever. Usually when the phone booted up it would say sprint. Now it just says lg and boots up. I can still make calls and text. Ive tried a bunch of different apns and still no luck. Ive talked with my current provider and he said contact the manufacturer. Now the manufacturer said go to my provider and send it through for service.
If theres a fix for this i would love to know instead of sending my phone away..
Lg g3 ls990.
I had the same problem just do this and you'll be good. Did you make sure that its not on global, did you update prl and everything? Go into your phone app and type this: ##update# this updates prl and everything then reboots the phone if that does not work then just do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/help/fix-missing-wifi-calling-zv4-t2842102

Can't make phone calls, phone won't go through self service

So, as the title mentions, I am unable to make phone calls or go through self service on my phone. I can still send texts over 3G/4G, and I've already RUU'd back to the latest version.
The error message I'm receiving when making calls: 'The number or code you are trying to dial is invalid' blah blah
Anyone else come across this issue?
EDIT: I'm starting to think it might be a network issue and not just me....

try ##72786# and reset your data (this wont reset the phone) the phone will reboot and go through the activation process, profile update, and prl update. See if that works, could be a network issue though but thats a bit strange. Try changing locations to see if it helps

Yep, tried that. I actually took it into the Sprint store yesterday and they were stumped by it as well. I can still text and browse the internet, but no calls. We'll see what they have to say when I go pick it up in around an hour....
Thanks for the troubleshooting tips though!
Sprint ended up ordering a replacement phone so I should have it before the end of the week.

The Sprint store techs couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so they ordered me a new one haha. I must have done something real bad with it!
Calls over my Bluetooth stereo weren't working either so I'm glad I got a new one. No issues so far
