So, this might have been asked before but I suppose on could see the trouble with trying to find info about an application called "S Note" in this forum. I am using Flapjaxxx's JB rom (on beta 5 right now) and I attempted to pull the s note app from the JB dump of a Note II. However, it would not install. I realize there must be something else I need touchwiz wise but I haven't a clue as to what component I need. How can I install S Note on my JB rom?

Thanks for the info. GNote will not do handwriting to text which is why I wanted S Note. If this question has already been asked please point me to that thread. But why is it impossible?

I thought touchwiz was just a collection of software that sits on top of vanilla android. Am I wrong about this?

It's much more than that. Think of it as a custom version of android.

Noob question. Couldn"t find the answer in search.
Will the AOKP for the n7000 work on the i717? I would have asked on the AOKP web site, but it's not allowing any new registering right now.
Thanks to everyone in advance!!:good::good::good:
I don't think so. Every time I see someone flash a N7000 ROM onto the i717 it results in a brick of some sort. DAGr8 has a AOKP build specifically for the i717. Checkout the link below or just search for it in the Development section. It's one of the top 10 builds discussed right now.

No. Roms are phone specific. It will kill your phone permanently. Go by model #, not names.

Hey sir, glad to see you in the ATT GNote forums, and No do not flash or attempt to put any ROMs of N7000 on your ATT i717, you will have a very nice paper weight.
Check out the Gnote Super page for all your GNote needs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740367
You now have the GNote ATT version correct?

Well, I will have as soon as it arrives:- Description says it is running GB, but I will check that out when it arrives.
Here's what I thought I would do:
1. Upgrade to ICS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894679
2. Root.
Using Odin to add CWM and Superuser.
3. Pick out a good JB ROM.
Thanks for the welcome. I think I will like the Gnote, but not getting rid of the Infuse just in case!!

Okay so I've been doing some research and international build has touchwiz ux which is like tablet ui on touchwiz rom. Now I'm running clean rom 4.5 which is international 4.1.2 based.
I want to know if I can run this rom on my verizon note 2 and if so. How.

yes but data may not work without some modifications. we share the same hardware as the international version so you wont hard brick. thats the beauty of having exynos.
Hmm. Wasn't there a zip around to flash and make any rom work on Verizon after the fact?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
yes i believe so...have not tried it tho. hopefully somebody can chime in that has.
Yes someone please chime in. I'd like to flash this on my phone. Or other roms for other carriers and see if it works. Seems international builds have the cool stuff like tablet modes on touchwiz. . Because I'm sick of being limited this! Verizon really has no development. And I wanna stay touchwiz

fyi there is a tablet ui mod for touchwiz in the dev section.

Okay so I found the zip works to make n7105 roms work with verizon that Scott made. Which is att sprint I guess and some international. But not n7100. I wanna use tablet ux on touchwiz -_-.
Is there anyway to port this. Make it work somehow?
What happens if I flashed anyway. Since n7100 doesn't have lte..

you wont have data like i said previously...you will need to modify the ril and libs files.
But long story short is I cannot be a brick from flashing unless I flash a radio.
Kernels and everything else do not matter?

No it is not. If I remember correctly, its for the international S4s. However, I do believe there is a Dev that may oray not try to port this for us. As of right now, it boots but the phone app keeps crashing

ok.... good to know!
I've tried 3 different builds that I put together. I can never get past the error that happens immediately on boot about com.android.phone crashing. I haven't looked into much past that because I've been too busy with other projects. I know there is at least 1 other person working on it last I had heard.

Andriod 4.3 Jelly Bean is specifically aimed only at developers and is only with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition (GT-I9505G) compatible.

Neither of you last statements are correct. The lack of development is coming from a yet to be cracked ME7 boot loader as well as a just recently released MI1 update. If you are on MDK kernel still there are quite a few roms out there for your enjoyment.

Eclipse TW edition. It's so good that no one comments on the thread... no bugs.
Plus the pile of AOSP-based usual suspects.
Does this need to be a thread? Go look through the forums, and try whatever you think will work best for you and try them out. If you think the development is dead then don't get the S4 or sell it for something else. What are you looking for? someone to tell you that it's not dead, you should keep your phone, better things are coming? If your satisfied with the phone and what you have on their great, if not, do whatever you feel.
The ME7 issue killed a lot of development, there's no denying it. Just look at the development forums of an S4 from a different carrier.
Although the few ROM's that are available for this device are real quality. Really we should all stop debating about it and start cooking our own ROM's.

It's you. There's a lot of development for the S4. We don't need 10 Roms that are all the basically the same. We have CM, touchwiz with plenty of tweaks, AOSP, and Google edition. Is there something I am missing?
