Bootlooping Tablet - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm back after passing on my P7510 to my dad and switching to a TF300. Long story short, my dad shut down the tablet at night and tried powering it up in the morning. Got stuck on the initial Samsung screen with the padlock (it is unlocked).
Tried wiping and reflashing the firmware he was using which was the official ICS build but rooted and deodexed. Got the black screen with lines dealy after the initial Samsung logo and from there, bootlooped. Then I tried flashing another firmware that happened to be on there that he was previously using before the ICS update was released, UEKMP (again just stock, deodexed, and rooted). Same thing happened again with the lines before the boot animation. Samsung boot sound played at least before it just looped the animation. Tried odin with stock 3.2 firmware, which flashes fine, but also ran into the same issue (with lines and all before Samsung bootanimation).
Typically, i probably would have been able to fix similar issue by now by either rebooting (by holding power button and it will magically boot up as it would normally) or wiping and reflashing, but I am stumped on this one. Is it time for RMA? Looks like that's what some people seem to be resorting to after usual fixes don't work. I feel like the lines on the attempt to boot up may be a sign of something? I remember it being a kernel issue, which would be weird considering it was using the stock kernel when it was on Honeycomb or ICS. I've given up tonight as I have work early in the morning, but at least I was able to access nvflash and get cwm 4.x.x.x on there. Luckily it had a power down option so I'm just gonna let it sleep through the night . Any idears are very appreciated!
TL;DR
Bootlooping with black screen and lines even after flashing firmware or stock 3.2 P7510 Odin tar
Can access recovery and download mode fine, including nvflash

For anyone that cares or is in the same boat,
Resorted to going back to stock recovery and wiping the device (this also wipes /sdcard/ of course) and it's working fine again. Now I've got to get everything back on there for my dad..............

Causes for a boot loop?

I first noticed a random reboot yesterday and my widgets disappeared and the wallpaper was the original ocean floor/water live one. Other than that no problems and all today my phone seemed ok. So I was sitting around at home later and I hadn't checked my phone in a while so I went to look at it and it's at my boot screen (I flashed the bugdroid vaudeville one where it gives the apple logo the hook) and it doesn't change. I pick it up and I feel the buzzes telling me that it's getting force closes. I did the 3button to reboot to recovery and tried to wipe cache/dalvik/fix permissions to see if anything would change, tried flashing a kernel that was still on my sd (no roms left on it to try) and no difference. When I plug into the wall charger from being off it goes straight into CWM. I was on the stock debloated ED01 rom from adrenalyne's thread and OTB 1.6 kernel.
I'm just curious to see if anyone can figure out what caused the boot loop? I already know that the surefire way to fix it is to odin back to stock and restart from there. I don't readily have access to a Windows computer anymore because I only have a macbook, but I can get to one in the near future, so I'm also wondering if there is anything I can do. My phone can still boot into CWM 3.x.

[Q] Galaxy S2 Stuck on Boot-Up Screen

I have an international version of the Samsung GS2 that i am using on At&t. A few weeks ago i noticed that my phone would suddenly turn off while in my pocket or just left alone. Then, one time i tried turning on the phone and saw that the phone got stuck on the boot animation screen with blue markings all around it. I took out the battery and put it back in a few times and was finally able to get the phone to work.
Today, the same thing happened. The phone turned off i tried to restart it and it got stuck on the boot animation screen (Galaxy S logo). It has these blue markings around it and it can't get past it. The phone isn't rooted and i have not tampered with the system files. I've only updated it once, from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. I tried factory resetting it but nothing changed and its still has the same problem.
I have a suspicion that it might be caused by the fact that i've dropped the phone a few times. What do you guys think could be the problem and what are my choices in getting it fixed? Would flashing a stock rom help fix the problem?
I would suggest flashing the Stock Rom Through Odin as i once has an issue with massive yellow streaks kind of like what you are getting after a flash before.
I went ahead and flashed a few roms from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278. The flashing worked fine but it still can't get past the bootup screen and the blue marks are still there.
Would calling Samsung and asking for support get me anywhere?
How long did you wait after flashing the rom? The worst way you could have messed up is by choosing the wrong files in Odin. Did u check that again?

I flashed the rom and rebooted and saw that it was still the same. Does it matter which rom i chose? I tried two or three different roms from the thread. I though they were all stock roms...

Stuck at boot up screen

I have an old S2 running wananm's JB ROM which until recently, could not boot up all of a sudden. It just gets stuck at the Samsung Galaxy SII logo with the yellow triangle on it. I did a factory reset and it worked after that, until a month later where I am having the exact same problem. This time I fulll wiped it and flashed NeatROM Lite 4.4 on it, but now the phone stucks in boot loop at the samsung boot up animation. Pulling out the battery and putting it back results in the previous issue where it gets stuck at the Galaxy SII black screen with yellow triangle. I boot into recovery and did one more factory wipe, but this time it goes back to being stuck with a boot loop.
Any ideas whats wrong? The phone is pretty old, could it be dying? Before all this happened I did not do any modifications to the phone like flashing new mods, scripts, OC, UV..etc
Flash a official stock firmware from sammobile.
After this root and flash Rom again.
PS: Check ur downloads and if u have the correct Rom for ur phone version (i9100/i9100p/etc)

I already flashed the stock ROM via odin. It is now unrooted. Been using it for a week and the issue just happened again. I now realised that it only happens when I attempt to replace the battery. I have two packs, both are official, one that came with the phone and another which I ordered online. After shutting the phone down, remove the old battery, put in the new one, attempt to boot up, it just gets stuck at the Samsung screen. The only solution is to do a full wipe. Could it be some sort of corruption?
Sure it can.
So if it only happens with it, it maybe corrupt in itself or maybe it's not directly for ur phone/android version etc....
So just don't use it, but that for u have a full working phone

Yeah it might not be android related, but it still is strange.. And I don't believe it'stthe battery screwing it up either. I'll try rooting it and see if it manages to boot up. If not I'll go back to an ICS ROM and see how it goes. Because I only notice all this happening ever since flashing JB. I hope it lasts til July so I can trade it in for the S4.

[Q] Black screen after update, please help

ok so i was running 4.0.3 with no problem until i decided to update to 4.1.2, so after updated finished with no errors i booted the device
the galaxy s2 logo appears the BLACK SCREEN
no boot animation
what i have tried
return to 4.0.3
wipe data
use custom recovery that matches the os version
us custom recovery to format all the partitions
flash using pit file
different version of odin
and thats pretty much all
now even when i return to 4.0.3 it stil wont boot, please help
If the phone won't boot & PC/phone don't recognise each other in Odin, you're pretty much boned. Possibly JTAG, if not service centre (or local mobile shop if no warranty).
it goes into download mode, and recovery, and it boots up, but after the SGS2 logo i get a black screen on any firmware, even gingerbread
and i can still flash using odin and cwm
If it were me, I'd keep trying Odin flashes (even trying random stock roms); often in these situations the first 6 flashes don't work but the 15th actually fixes the problem (I'm using these numbers as an example) for whatever reason.
That's the only way you're fixing it, unless the NAND is borked, which you won't be able to fix. Try Hopper8's 'Odin won't work' thread, there's stuff in there which might help.

Hey this is exactly what happened to my phone, I flased stock 4.1.2, it was working fine but somehow freezing randomly. So I installed latest cwm hoping to fix the freezing problem, the boot animation won't show up after the logo, though I can hear from the speaker sound of the boot animation, and the screen won't seem like turning on (touch buttons not lighting up). Any luck on fixing this problem?
it turns out its was the usb data cable connector, surprised. i dont even know what one has to do with the other, anyways, i had it replaced and it works perfectly

Well I re-flashed the stock android 4.1.2 using odin, and everything got back to normal, the screen is working again. Though the phone is still freezing randomly, even after a couple of minutes after booting the phone. However I'm glad to get my phone with the screen working again!

GT-N8010 Stuck on Logo Screen

Ok, first up I know there are many posts out there about this issue because I've looked at most of them and tried them so please bear with me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy GT-N8010, about 4 years old. I have never rooted or done anything to the firmware in all that time except OTA updates & the occasional factory reset to clean things up.
Couple of months ago it was on, i had been using it and put it down and when i came back it was on the Samsung logo screen and has been ever since.
Since i could get into the download page even though it was already bricked I figured i'd try rooting to see if i could fix the problem. Now possibly i should have attempted to get into recovery mode first but I attempted to install CWM (as per posts here). It appeared to install fine. But no recovery partition, screen blinks and goes back to the logo.
I've tried flashing stock firmware, TWRP, CWM - all 'appear' to install successfully according to ODIN, but nothing changes, still stuck on the logo screen.
So does this sound like a hardware issue or am i missing something? The Tab A 10.1 with s-pen looks great, would be a perfect replacement, but is not available in NL
Thanks guys (& gals)
Darren
