Hi,
I was wondering is there any ROM or app that allows me to view multiple apps at the same time ?
If i can resize the app windows that would be great. The functionality i am looking for is similar to what video player does in S3. Ideally i would like to keep google talk and skype (or maybe some other app) open and on top of other windows.
I am using Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 (Official Jelly Bean ROM (Poland)).

I would like the same thing.
There's an app in the market that will do it, but you have to wire it to your computer every time you use it or some nonsense. Screenshots are natively built in with the touchwiz update.
I love the MIUI but I have been skeptical about trying it because I'm too attached to Samsung's specially designed apps such as the Allshare (DLNA), Email (split view), Samsung keyboard, Memo, Kies Air, photo editor and Video Maker and Voice Talk (home button double click).
From what I read, these are built on a different framework than the MIUI (CM7) which will not work. Very sad face.
So the real question is, is there a way to port any of the mentioned apps over to MIUI?
A alternative for Allshare that I would recommend is Skifta. I even use it on my phone which is a stock based rom since it is better in the area of the phone as the player since Allshare is hard coded to use the stock video player and will not let you select a different installed player which means lower format support and you can't stream mkv's to the phone from a server even though the phone could play the same file if it is on the sdcard.
For phone to other device it has the same capabilities.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Thanks shadowofdarkness, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work properly. When I click on Music it just sits there for a while, and non of the movies play. I'm thinking maybe I need another player?
I noticed it's beta, so it might be in the process of being fixed.

What is your setup, is the phone the server or player? On my phone I prefer MX video player in SW mode for best compatibility.
I have the following devices and have not had any real problems
Phone server/client
XBMC server/client
MythTV server only
The clients especially TVs can have low format support since a lot of manufacturers only put in the most heavily used formats and can even have problems with variations of certain codec profiles.
All my media is stored on a windows 7 pc that has media stream server enabled. So whatever I have in My Music, My Video and My Pictures is easily viewed in Allstream. Skifta looks great btw, just hope they fix the issues soon.

Id say that if you like those special services that samsung provides don't install MIUI. Currently it is on v4 for the GS3, nevertheless the beta is on its way and is being tested as we speak. The GUI is really nice, but you DO loose some special services.

o,thanks! your answer also helped me to solve this big problem, especailly when i just trying the MIUI V5 in my galaxy S3
I was wondering if exist, or if it's possible to build, a special android release for old smartphones without basic phone functions, to be used just as standalone media player. I mean a basic distribution that allow just playing local audio files or remote files through wifi home network.
I have an old xperia x8, which is a good phone and there are a lot of android based custom roms, but i need to use it just as a media player.
As soon as I power it on it has to show a list of music files to play.

Bump!
I think this is quite an interesting question. I'm using my old Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) as a media player, and I've installed Cyanogenmod on it. I'm playing the songs (local) with the built-in Appolo, but if there were to be a music player ROM, I would be interested.
Maybe using a Slim ROM (SlimBean, SlimKat, etc.) and using the SlimSizer option to get rid of unnecessary things could be a way to get a version of Android stripped of everything you don't need in a music player. However, that won't show the list of tracks when booting the phone.

Hi all,
I'm one of the few people still rocking a Google TV and I can't take the stock Netflix app anymore. This is a specialized version of the Netflix app that does not allow "touch-screen" (AKA point-and-click) input and instead forces all navigation to be done with the arrow keys on an official TV remote (even external keyboards don't work)
I side-loaded the Netflix app from my Note II, but it always launches in portrait mode and won't reconfigure to widescreen until I select a title. So I'm assuming there is a different apk for tablet devices that will render everything in landscape from the start. Does anyone have such an apk that they would be willing to share?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I was just trying the different apps for Screen Sharing from the Tab (SM-P601, Android 4.3) to a Windows Laptop/Desktop.
I came across 2 apps:
1. MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy
However, this needs to Install receiver device (additional Receiver software) on the computer, which is not always possible, when i am in someone else's office on a desktop locked with Admin password.
2. Screen Stream Mirroring trial
This app enables to broadcast to 'Google chrome' or 'VLC Player' or even on 'YouTube'. On VLC Player, it can even be recorded. But at the present moment, on Android 4.3, it gives me error on 'Hardware Rendering Format'. As a result, the broadcast is very slow and laggy.
However, both these apps require that the Tablet and the Computer be connected to the same WiFi Network.
Does anyone has any better options/ideas ?? A better App ??

Is there any reason your not using this ? I mirror my Note 10.1 and Note 4 to my Windows 8 laptop this way just fine.
Did you ever get this to work? I have not been successful with my note and HP laptop. Do you have any notes about your setup? Versions of the client and server?
thanks
Try teamviewer, download teamviewer on pc and quicksupport teamviewer at play store, then just connect, or alternate use mobizen. Both tested and working.
Goodluck...
