Android Open Source Compiler
Build Android with a gui.
This project will be a continuous battle. Which is why I decided to not "package" this in terms of distro. I have written a make file and instructions on how to build this very easily. This way, you can't always get the latest code from either they master (unstable) branch or the Stable (stable) branch. Plus no harm in teaching you little bit of git.
Use the poll to gauge project priority, also mention more projects so I can add them to the polls.

Known issues:
- When using the options dropdown, you can't choose the same option twice in a row. I am aware and working on it.
Please read:
I have thought maybe times different ways I was going to go about this. Ads, donate version, paid app, etc. I choose to keep the project open, as that's how I roll. I do ask that if you enjoy the application that you try to donate something. This was my first gui project and took a lot of time and effort to even get it to where it is right now. I hope everyone enjoys the app as much as I enjoy working on it.

I'm trying to understand why more people aren't jumping all over this yet. Sure we can getter' done the old fashioned way. But who doesn't love a good GUI?

Tons of people were behind it. Then a few from cyanogenmod talked **** about being a kanginator. So tried changing the name adding in new options, more projects, tried to make it into a tool that's more. Never happened. No hate. I still work on it. Just kinda sucks.

Well that isn't an appropriate way for users to feel. Maybe someday people will appreciate the effort, time and work that you and I and other devs put into these 'projects' to make things easier.
Nice! I can't believe I didn't see this before! Man, thanks for the time and effort! Uve helped me a lot, and I really like the tools u produce, and the thought u put behind them. Thanks for all your work lithid. Your the man!

Your own device isn't quite 100% with this tool yet. I'm working on it though.
If you are having sync issues check your local network, try dropping the sync jobs.

It is a AOSP version ICS, I built the uImage from the tenderloin kernel in https://github.com/CyanogenMod/hp-kernel-tenderloin. There is another guy Andrew Boren who is also working on porting in https://github.com/Evervolv-ICS/android_device_hp_tenderloin, and my work is generally based on that.
You can see the screen shows "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." Touchscreen is not working so there is nothing I can do except force shutting it down... But it still means that the booting is succeeded, screen is working, and I am happy to see that I can make such progress in only four days...
However when I shut it down and restart it, the system became stuck in booting and started looping the booting animation, which is very weird. I reinstalled the rom and it went back to normal, but I then restarted it and it went stuck again... Maybe there is something wrong in the BoardConfig.mk, I will try to figure it out in tomorrow...
I don't know whether I can fix that problem before the new year, I have to go to Birmingham to see a girl from 23th to 27th..... And I also need to keep on my current research works in the department, so my spare time is very limited.....
So don't hope too much on my works, there is nothing I can guarantee about, and I believe CM9 will be published before I can finish porting ICS, yeah.....
ok,looks like i have been out for this for a long time as there are already people working on it and stuck at the same problem…… sorry if my posts has given you false hopes……

Where do you get the files that you'd normally get from 'extract-files.sh'? Do you get them from other devices with similar hardware?

I haven't used extract-files.sh, but the ko files from the second github link there.... But it seems like only the screen is working so I might need to find other ways to make my device work.
I found out the problem of booting, looks like the data folder has something bad inside, but I can't be sure as I don't have any debugging tools for porting work. I have to say I am quite new in doing this job....

Thanks for the link, though I have a feeling that as touchpad is such a special device it will not be successful only to change something from other ICS rom and wish it could also work on the touchpad....
It can only be done by programming of platform development from the AOSP source code, which is a completely new area for me to start with. (though I have learned a lot in this week, and I really enjoy it!)
I believe that based on the work of @preduledrew, if anyone want to make a successful porting the remaining work is nothing but only to make a correct hardware settings from it, more like debugging and tweaking instead of coding now...
@preduledrew has updated his files in github and will start to work with @dalingrin after christmas. I think that we can see a ICS port rom in the next Jan, though not from mine I believe....
PS: If there is anybody who might be interested in working on @preduledrew's source code, there is one thing you might need to know: His kernel file cannot work in touchpad so you have to make one of your own, I would suggest compiling from @dalingrin's kernel source code. When you finish that, combine the uImage and the ramdisk built from ICS AOSP source code to make the boot.img and use that to boot up your touchpad.

I guess $99 is a good reason to have 1 foot in multiple eco-systems (altho I really do like having 3 devices all in the same eco-system now, thanks to CM for TP)
EDIT: for anyone that doesn't have the links: for TP dev: https://twitter.com/#!/dalingrin
for Sensation dev: https://plus.google.com/113702637309752822154/posts (they do use the same basic chip 8x60... hopefully they are each benefiting from each others work)
Looks like the disscussion here becomes misleading..... Anyway, as @dalingrin has anounced his progress about porting ICS to Touchpad, and sounds like the first alpha rom will be available in a few days, I think my work right now is meaningless, and I will stop it as there are also many other stuffs occupied in my life... Though it is not something beyond my expectations. But I will continue to do my learning of this area, and might work out the AOSP ICS rom of my own if everything is going well (though I fully doubt...), the experiences I have gained may come in handy in the future.
How I wish I could start do this kind of learning when I was having plenty of free time....
Anyway, thanks for the guys who ever support me for that.
Too much talk from those that don't know, so lets clear some things up.
Yes it works, verified over and over with several people. I did brick one of dsb9938's phones, but that was entirely my fault for jumping ahead of what I was doing. I have unlocked Drew66's, skynet's and gdramsy's DNA's without issue.
I am currently working to make it as safe as possible, if I released today we would have a lot of bricks. It is complicated and involves exploiting several unpublished vulnerabilities. Vulnerabilities are money to me, so I don't take exposing them to the world lightly. I will release it on my timing, being a jerk to me in email isn't going to speed it up (you know who you are).
I will continue to test it and unlock people I know and trust while tweaking it. I also have some professional conflicts that will likely delay release, but not for too long. Once said conflicts are done, and it is fairly safe I will release it.
If you have assisted me in the past on projects, and want unlock, please get a hold of me.

[ Unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 Build on HTC DNA ]
..CURRENT BUILD..
Since we have others working on CM10.1 atm, I'll be taking a short break from working on it.
Boot.img @ http://bit.ly/Z67HB2
Flashable Zip @ http://bit.ly/Z1FLQ8
This is an older build (already posted on androidfilehost) that I am repackaging without the boot.img.
I need to look over the boot.img to make sure its safe for certain users.
Boot.img added today [03.02.13]
This build is highly experimental and in fact, doesnt completely boot up. I think it boots to a completely screwed up screen tbh. I can't recall (its from the 18th!) This buildnt isn't the screwed up screen version.

The camera on stock Sense is weak too. It's nothing new that the camera just sucks on this device. I've owned just about every flagship and nexus device and its just a fact when compared to anything out there already. Editing software doesn't change that. There are a ton of apps in the Play Store that do just about anything in terms of editing. So all in all. The camera is terrible no matter what app you would like to sugarcoat it with. But yep. Unless HTC decides to opensource their camera, then we are all sh$t outta luck on that. Things will get better on aosp though. It's just a matter of time.
Handset ready for the update. F5ing it.

Yeah, looking back, I only edited stuff for like the first day or two when I got the phone. After that I never bothered with it lol. I'm on a gpe ROM and for some reason the camera is slow as hell. It was fast on the stock sense crap but now it takes forever. I haven't used it yet on this so I'm hoping it's fast again.
Oh, and this ROM has the most badass boot animation, lmao. It's a shame I don't reboot the phone very often hahaha.
@task650, never would I EVER say "hurry!" to a developer that does such amazing work and all, but... F5F5F5F5!!!

No signal fixes? So it's still jumping around I guess? Just wondering ofc, no offence, since I didnt read anything about it in the changelog but I know some people are working on it.

Awesome installing now TY.
Thanks for posting and working on this... Donation coming your way. I can't find the commit for the "less frequent notification sounds" but I haven't had time to clone the repo and search.
Maybe one day our paths will cross in downtown Portland... work out in The Tron

FYI, this is now a thing. Seriously, why develop a ROM and not release it?!?!

Thanks for this. I'll give the XDA Thanks when I'm back on the app. Cheers!
Has anyone flashed this?
Reports?
I flashed it. Seems to work pretty well. I don't have a SIM to test mobile data but WiFi works fine. The only issue I have is that no matter what widget I put on any homescreen using stock or nova they are gone after my next reboot.

Yea, you should probably post what repos you used to build this.
Thanks for the cred by the way.

Because it was not fully developed yet. I sent @invisiblek a VK810 to get CM12 going on this device and he/we were trying to work out some of the remaining issues before posting it. Life got too busy for me so had very little time to work on the vk810. @invisiblek basically got this going himself. Hoping to have radio issue resolved next time I get a chance to play on this.

I'm not trying to start anything here. I kind of assumed everyone knew that the CM12.1 repos were InvisibleK's. Forked from NGVincent's github, which was forked from upstream CM11 V500 official. I'm not trying to take credit for anyone else's work. I'm just trying to get the ROM into people's hands. That's how open source works. you write something, you release it. But the average user (yes, even here on XDA) does not use Linux, much less knows how to build a ROM. It's not like i'm trying to take credit for anyone else's work
Thanks goes out to everyone else who worked on this, PaperWastage, CyanogenMod Team, TheRodeWarrior, DrGravy, etc. and anyone else I've missed.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood, but with the amount of work InvisibleK does for CM, I assumed he was part of CM Team. I'm sorry if this is not the case.
As we are all aware, GPS and 4G do not work due to some issues with the RIL. I've looked into it. NGVincent looked into it. InivisibleK looked into it. nobody has it working because the modem is a proprietary blob that no other CM supported device uses (except for the Droid Maxx HD, but it uses the CDMA side so still not of much use to us). To be completely honest, I doubt it's ever going to get fixed until some other pure LTE device that uses the msm8960 gets a GooglePlay Edition. either that, or someone with a whole lot more free time and talent than any of us have sits down and reverse engineers the RIL from the stock ROM. Probably not gonna happen...
The fact of the matter is, that while having working data would be nice (and certainly the last major hurdle to get over before official CM status can be achieved), it's hardly a deal breaker. To be honest, on my tablet I could care less. I only ever use it in places I have WiFi anyway (work/home). We've been using a 4G-less CM11 ROM for at least as long as I've been developing for this tablet, and nobody seemed to have any complaints about it. Only positive things to say.
and for the record, it's come to my attention that semi-nightly builds are available here at http://www.invisiblek.org/roms/cm-12.1/vk810/
credit where due...
