Hello do have to be proffesional or developer to root the phone? Like I'm not sure what would I get out of the rooting? And could delete the moxier apps? And what do u guys mean by gain access to root? Only reason I wana root is to see of there is any improvement in-call volume . And let's say once I'm done rooting wha happens after? Do I have to download something or does it run normal like it Before without rooting?
Clear answer, you shouldn't root because obviously you don't know what to do with it. It might drive you into problems which you could be unable to fix. So when you not sure what to do with root, leave it as it is.

There is nothing more that you need to do per se. If you want to install JIT then go here.
what I meant was whats next for me? What do I do? What do I do with superuser and busybox? where and how do I get apps and install them? Sorry to bombard you guys with questions, but I'm sure by now you know that i'm extremely new to all these. Please help me learn! Thanks!
Install jit. Remove bloatware. Apply themes. Read forums for answers.
There its lots you can do.

Oh and you don't really do much with superuser and busybox. But they are needed so leave them alone.

Go to Market for apps, get some basic like Titanium Backup and Restore, APN backup and restore. Do a backup, include system settings. Just in case.
There are several threads on JIT, this is one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829660
Try just the JIT piece before trying optimization.
Read read read, then read some more, and don't be scared to play about with your phone! I'm all for helping people out, but what you want to know is quite basic stuff that you should be finding out by exploring your phone, and you should really have found out "what next" before actually rooting, and HERE is a good place to start.

This is a great post. Particularly the bold part. The majority of phones functionality that I know of, I've learnt from sitting down and playing with it. Most of the questions on this site can be figured out by just looking through all menus, screen etc.
Not having a go at you, but I don't really understand the "I've rooted my phone, now what?" type posts. Why root if you don't know what it does? Especially given that this forum is all about development rather than "make my phone look cool".
As XperiaX10iUser said, it helps to read as much as you can to get a basic grasp on things. Not trying to deter you from asking questions! Just helps to know what you're actually asking when you do.
Maybe you could start to read few of FAQs from the link of my signature?
Thanks everyone! I will do some research and play with my phone more. One of the reasons why I'm kind of scared to really play with my phone is because i'm afraid I might "brick" it =/ what are some of the things a Noob should avoid doing so he doesn't brick his device?

Props to SE, the X10 is pretty unbrickable. I haven't come across anyone who wasn't able to recover their phone. It can be a pain in the ass but do-able. If you do start playing with modding your phone, chances are you will get the yellow exclamation mark of doom at some point, but a little patience and some more reading and you'll be right! Chances are someone else has had the same issue too, so the search tool can be your friend.
The only tip I really have is don't "play" with it late at night when you know you're going to need your phone the next day!
I"m trying to use superoneclick that came with the JIT v2 files, however, I'm having looping problem with shellroot, and i have spend like an hour re-doing it, but it is still looping. Is it because I rooted using z4root? should I re-root it with superoneclick? I tried the "allow non-market apps" and it works fine. It only loops when I try to shell root. I have not tried the rooting option in superoneclick yet..... my debug is checked, and I press "charge phone" when the option pop up, but superoneclick is just killing and starting ADB server. Please help!!
also, I did some search for the multi touch option, but I couldnt find it. How do I enable ( or get) the multi touch option that was otherwise unavailable to un-rooted x10? Thanks for all the helps!

Hey guys ive been looking around for a Noob guide so I can install my very first ROM but cant really find any.... The thing is I basically get how to install a rom/custom rom but what I dont know is if something goes wrong how to restore my phone to the current state. I have a Rooted, Stock Gingerbread 2.3.4, S5830L phone. So my questions are...
Is nandroid what I need to backup my phone and if something goes wrong, restore that backup? Or should I get one from "samfirmware" (the problem is I cant find an exact match for my phone)???
Do I need a special version of nandroid and CWM for my S5830L? What are the latest versions? Or what do you guys have installed in your device?
What should I install first nandroid or CWM?
And finaly does it even matter that my phone version is "L" (S5830L)? Should I not worry about that and just follow any rom guide as if it was a universal guide?
Thanks alot guys for any help, Im very new to this but if someone can push me or help me towards the right direction im sure I will learn fast.
Well dude first of all, nandroid isn't any software. It's a part of CWM that make backup of AND memory of your device. Second thing, it matters alot that you have L version of phone. Many ROMs and guides are only for standard S5830 version, so keep an eye on it. Third, stock backups can't be restored on custom ROMs unless you convert partition to rfs again by "ext4 manager".
Last, look for similar thread like yours in general forum and you will find your answer. I and many other friends have posted their flashing methods there.

Hi there! I have some problems that are very annoying. Since 4.3 update, my phones lags a lot at unlock screen, gallery, camera, settings etc. Everytime I enter one of these there is a delay of maybe 2-3 seconds! I HATE THAT. Is there any solution for that? I'm hopeless already, I asked in so many forums..Please, I need some help. Many said, root it. I don't know how.
Read the stickies in the development thread they will tell you how, and why, to root it.

have you updated from 4.1.2 to 4.3 without factory reset? if yes then a factory reset might help, but i can't promise that it will. In most cases it is always recommended to clear data when moving from one android version to another.
otherwise try to avoid touchwiz apps, they always have this lag when starting. root will not magically remove these lags, but you can delete bloat apps, which will minimize lags.
if you really want to have have an optimized, nearly lag free samsung based ROM, then I would suggest you to try one of the samsung based custom ROMs here from s3 development forum (what also would need some knowledge, so read the stickies carefully)
