Hi , really sorry if this is in the wrong forum, or if this question has been asked before. I couldn't find its answer.
I'm using an ATT version of Galaxy S II and I was suddenly getting an extremely high amoount of data usage even though my phone was on wifi. I decided to root and get some apps to freeze/kill, and strengthen battery life.
I saw that ICS was leaked and after reading about it, I flashed a custom rom, but then I flashed back to my regular rooted rom. I soon noticed that i no longer heard a "calling" sound when i dialed a number, and when the call was answered, the line is always dead both ways. I can still text and use internet. I unrooted and factory reset, but neither of these solved the problem.
I did notice that one person posted something similar happening to them, and it seemed that the custom rom they used was not for the ATT version for the phone. Their thread was moved, but they mentioned something about having the wrong radio after their flash experience. Could anyone steer me in the correct direction?
Thanks.^^

Hey,
Can you provide me with your phone kernel version, baseband and build number (that can be found under "Settings > About Phone). It might be that you have installed the wrong Modem tar file.
Once you reply me, it might be able to further assist you.
Good luck
kernel: 2.6.35.7
baseband: I9100XXLP6
Build: GINGERBREAD.UCKH7
I'm suffering similar problem for 2 weeks now, strange thing with my phone is that the problem only exists for my original network operator, which has been working well for 4 months. Now the phone only works with other operator's SIM
I have flashed several different ROMs KF4, KI8, KL3(include modem firmware) and even stock 4.0.3 ICS rom, none solved this issue, so I suppose problem is not located at flashable rom area
Oh, but as per those details, you still have the ICS...
Have you written down, before installing the custom ROM, the original phone details?
---------- Post added at 10:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 AM ----------
@solarj Did you try your SIM in another phone?
Really? How so? I went back to my original using my nandroid backup, and then i used odin to unroot to stock since the factory reset didn't work.
I didn't write anything down before rooting.
I don't think the factory reset affects the ROM. But I looked up the information you provided me with and I saw that it pertained to ICS [samsunggalaxysforums.com]
Now it can be suspected that it is not a compatibility issue, but rather an ICS bug. That's why, I would first suggest you flash a 2.3.6 complete firmware (that is get the whole firmware.rar file that will include: the PDA, Modem and CSC). Such info can be found on sammobile.com and make sure you select the I9100 stuff not the I9100G
Revert back if further assistance is needed.
I will work on it and let you know the results. Thank you very much for your insight.^^

Yes, the SIM works in other phones.
Currently I have
androidversion: 2.3.6
baseband version: DXKL1
kernel version: DXKL3
Build number: Gingerbred.dxkl3
I have seen people reporting similar problem in other forum. And since SIMs from other operator work well in my phone, I don't think it is hardware related.
Currently I've narrowed down my research to 2 questions:
1. Which files are modifed by the flash process (rom/modem etc...) and which files are not modifed by the flash process
2. Does Intel's xmm-6260 platform include some own flashable rom? If it does, how could we flash that?
So many useless replies.

You're in the wrong forums flashing stuff for the wrong device.
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777
[Heimdall][Odin][Stock][Root]UCKH7/KK6 Return/Unbrick to Stock (or Root).
ugh, I just realized I probably wont be able to just boot this from recovery and install the zip from my sdcard, huh?
So i should just Odin this up? Thank you.^^

You really can't figure it out after reading the linked tutorial, which even links to another tutorial? You've got all the information you need right there in front of you.
Continuing to post on the I9100 forums isn't going to get you any closer to a fully working device (judging by the first idiotic replies you got, it's more likely to result in you being in a worse situation).

I wasn't really looking for an actual response to that. Thank you very much for taking the time out of whatever you were doing to point me in the right direction.
I will be far more careful when I flash stuff in the future, so I don't make similar mistakes. I'm sure its something that happens alot here, and I do apologize for being yet another person "in the wrong forums flashing stuff for the wrong device."

@ solarj
where are you flashing from? if from Odin, you can select which files to flash, basically the PDA, the CSC and the Modem
Tell me if you need further clarifications

Just a small note about what i was writing before: you have I9100 ROM (when you first sent me your kernel, baseband etc...) and I think you should have another, nominally the I777 as someone else stated. It is not hard to find the information you need and basically, the GS2 is hardly broken and unretrievable. My point was also that you should be careful in selecting the appropriate flashes. Yet, it wouldn't be the end of the world if you have mistaken ))
Notify me if you needed further assistance
I have the eclipse rom running on my razr, Now i want to go back to stock ics Which firmware and how do i flash it!

Try the one you had there before....
This is a "really big problem"?? The only "really big problem" is that you are lazy to search the forum as this has been solved million times....

Remember flash back to 2.6.3 before trying to flash ANY version of ICS. You can trust me, just look at my join date.

And especially DO NOT FORGET TO USE THE google cord, AND YOU MUST SHORT PINS 3 and 7.
Join date means absolutely nothing here. And you make the perfect point of it. First of Questions and help are asked in Q&A not General. Second the #1 rule in XDA is Search and Read before posting anything. Thread locked

Okay, so I have a Galaxy s2 i777 (At&t) version as my phone. The other day I rooted it and then I didn't like it was because my youtube and my camera wouldn't work so I tried to factory reset it right on the phone menu in the back up and reset section but all it did was turn off my phone and it wouldn't boot. I brung it to At&t customer service and they said that it usually voids the warranty but they'll give me a chance so they did a whole factory reset on my phone. Okay, so i learned my lesson that i got a bad Siyah kernal and i retried to root it yesterday and it worked perfectly. I also installed ShoStock 3 for the jelly bean rom and i got it. I got this rom on youtube, and he said that if I added this Siyah kernal, it was more smooth and better so i added the zipped siyah kernal into my internal sd from my computer. So I wanted to go into Clockwork Mod recovery so on the app Rom Manager, I pressed reboot in clockwork recovery mode and my phone turned off. Usually it would go into Clockwork mod recovery mode but this time it just froze on the Samsung Logo and it wouldn't turn on. I tried to take out the battery and it wont go into recovery mode. I will go into download mode though. Please Help if you know this situation. thanks.

How about you follow the rules here and do a little searching for your self.

First this is in the wrong section this should be in either the Q&A or general and second if you just peeked at the Q&A section you would have seen this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch/help/downgrade-t3337013

Also if you just want to unroot flash this in TWRP but why would you want to unroot anyways? It's not like OTAs don't work and also your system stays completely stock anyway. There is no upside to unrooting
I need this knowledge in case of warranty. By the way sorry for writing this topic in the wrong section.
