Well when exiting an app be sure you exit it not just pressed the home button .. I have 150mb of free ram
I saw the low RAM problems just after installing build 13, but then I realize that much of Sony's bloatware was still there so I deleted it. Then I rebooted the phone, but some bloatware apps was still there, in fact these was not the same of before. After the reboot there was different apps but with the same name. This is probably due to bloatware in system/app and vendor/app.
So after the third reboot still deleting bloatware I didn't find any of these again...so I checked the RAM and finally it was normal (110-120 Mb of free memory)

If it will have skull icon then I will be rooted?if not rooted then what it will show?
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
It will show nothing
It is not showing exact skull..but 2 bones ame half face above it..
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Yup. the app's name is superuser? Then you're rooted. try installing apps that require root access and see if it works.
Thanks for the help..those applications will require super user to work?
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
- Titanium Backup (but you need to install busybox first)
- Barnacle Wifi Tethering
- Root Explorer
- SetCPU
Those apps will ask for superuser access when you launch them for the first time. If you allowed it to and it works, then you are rooted.
As all these applications you mentioned are paid applications..so I tried droid firewall which asked for superuser access but when I allow it to access it gave an error..dat means it is not rooted..once again thanks..plz tell me another thing..have you rooted your phone?are you having xperia x 10?

All of those are free apps. I haz a rooted x10minipro since day 1 of the 2.1 update.
Best way to test for root
The best way to test for root is to install a Terminal Emulator app, open it.
When you see a $ sign, enter 'su' and press enter.
If you have root, a new sign, #, will replace the dollar sign on the next line.
If not, a message saying 'permission denied' or something like that will be displayed.
Good luck

Can you plz tell me if there is any disadvantage of rooting?is it easy to do?how it can be done on xperia x10mini..i want to root my phone just because I want to move the applications to sd card..
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
there are other terminal emulators available. try connectbot or etc.
they should work!
when you root, you risk permanently damaging your phone
and moving apps to sdcard only works on froyo(2.2) or higher.
please thank me if i have helped you

I need to know how to convert User apps to System apps. I know Titanium Backup can do it but I don't want to pay 7 bucks for the pro version.
Do I just move the APK from the /data/app to /system/app?
I am on a deodexed ROM so no odex files to move.
If I convert these user apps to system apps will it raise the OOM value? That's what I am after really.
GO Launcher gets killed way to easily. And while I am at it, I what to move GO SMS and Miren Browser if this will work.
If you have problems with Go Launcher quitting, then try the options called "System persistent" and "Prevent Force Close" in the app settings if you haven't tried that.
Yea I have that selected. The thing is, my phone doesn't have alot of memory. I have about 120 MB of ram with all apps closed and only about 40 MB free till android kills apps. So only really have about 80mb.

Friend see this app, can move to system, is good, see the oficial thread in samdroid
forum.samdroid.net/f10/apps2rom-root-move-your-updated-applications-system-rom-5690/
Once you move the apk to /system/app, remember to set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot. I'm not sure if this will change the oom value or not, but I think it does. If it doesn't work, try V6 Supercharger & apply the bulletproof launcher. It may help with other memory issues as well. You can also "bulletproof" other apps, but I'm not quite sure how as I haven't played with those options.

maybe you have to generate the .odex files for those new system apps, you moved to system!
like this:
start your terminal emulator and type:
to change in the right directory
cd /system/app
use root rights with su and generate the data
su
dexopt-wrapper Vending.apk Vending.odex
or
dexopt-wrapper YouTube.apk YouTube.odex
and dont forget to set the read write permissions the right way
no reboot and wipe the dalvik cache!
For those not converted apps, how did you convert them?
.. maybe really try to move them not with /system/app mover, but by copy pasting them in a file explorer.

Sounds like Chrome does not want to be installed as a system app then Is there some benefit to having an app installed as a system app? Or why do you want to have it installed as a system app?

OK I don't know how things work on phones outside of the HD2, but can't you just push the .apk to /system/app with a root explorer, fix permissions in CWM and reboot?
Try to use ADB to move it and remember to set permissions
You need to extract libchromeview.so from the Chrome APK (found at: com.android.chrome-1.apk/lib/armeabi-v7a/libchromeview.so) and move it to system/lib. Optionally, you can remove libchromeview.so from the Chrome APK and zipalign if you want to save a couple of MBs of space.
This worked for me on v. 0.18.4531.3636. I attempted this some time ago on an older version unsuccessfully. If you have an older version for some reason, you'll probably need to update.
Latest titanium backup update said something about fixing conversion in what's new

If I'm not mistaken system apps load first on boot and are often quicker at starting up than user apps. That's been my experience anyways. However a lot of em are more hassle to convert than the slight increase in speed is worth imho
I have 1.7GB free and when installing FPse for android v0.11.apk(apk size is 2.24 MB) it says out of space - FPse could not be installed. Free up some space and try again. So, any ideas what should i do?
Using root explorer navigate to /data/app and delete all the .odex files from there. Your problem will be solved
