Blue number in notification bar? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

This morning, this blue 54 has shown up in my notification bar. Clearing notifications does not remove it, and it doesn't seem to be related to any recently installed apps. Has anyone seen this before? Suggestions?

Looks like the temperature, although it doesn't match the clock widget.
Do you have any weather apps installed that might be putting it up there (with a different location)?
I used to use beautiful widgets (I think) that put the temperature up there.

Nope, its been a consistent 54 in the notification bar, and temp has been 70-85 on the weather app/widget. I don't have beautiful widgets installed.

Download ' air push detector' from the market. It has to be related to an app you have installed. It looks like a battery level to me. But you said it doesn't change.

Air push did not detect anything.
The number is still 54 with my battery down to 10%.

What have you downloaded recently, like the past couple of days?

Tasks
Runtastic Pro
PicsArt
Dropbox Plugin for GOSMS
Note Everything
My Fitness Pal
I've tried uninstalling all of these and restarting - that blue 54 is still there. :/

And it doesn't show up in your drop down notification? It's just in the notification bar?

Correct

It's gotta be an app. I just don't know how to find it.

Hi have the same problen on galaxy s3. It seems to be related with notification toggle. I have a blue 86 on left side of notification bar. My accu is at 54%.
I uninstalled notification toggle an rebooted. Nothing happened. Number is still there. Need help.!

Any app that stays in the task bar has to be running in the background, use something like gsam to look at the stats for different apps and processes, something has to show up there.

I've got the same issue on my Droid Razr MAXX. Mine shows a 30, though. The only app I have installed since I saw the number was "Cut the Rope: Experiments", which I have since uninstalled but that hasn't fixed the problem. I've killed every running app and restarted the phone, no help.

I've got a 93. It's a slightly different blue than the other notification bar icons. It's not related to battery, temperature, or memory. It just appeared this morning. Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.

Aliens. It has to be.

It seems like a counter to me

I think your phones are going to take over. It's the beginning of Skynet!

It's the order in which the Greys will probe you all. Has anyone tried to find anything that may be running on the background, wake lock maybe, something out of the ordinary?

has anyone tried to download lookout mobile security or something, so it can scan your entire phone?

I scanned my phone with AVG and Air Push Detector. Both came back clean. I also noticed that the number is present immediately after the screen appears following a reboot. Whatever it is starts up early in the process. I also looked at all the running processes (I don't have too many) and everything listed is either related to Android or a mainstream app.
So far it hasn't changed, just a blue 93 in the far left of the notification bar. Incidentally this is the only thread I've seen for this issue anywhere.

[SOLVED] What is this symbol in my notification bar?

**EDIT** Figured out what it was! It was from the app "power control plus" which adds toggles to your notification pull down..
Sorry this might seem like a dumb question but, what is this symbol to the left on the top of my notification bar? The circle power looking symbol that the red arrow is obviously pointing to..
That I don't know; would assume it's an app that you've downloaded otherwise it would be on the right side, but can you please tell me how you got your lock screen to look so pretty-ful?
What does it say if you open notifications? For some reason, it makes me think think of a timer or stopwatch.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
That is almost identical to the universal power button icon, except with the power icon the line points at 12 o'clock.
I searched on a number of sites with legends of Android notification icons, and could not find this one. When did the icon appear, and what had you installed prior to that?
Looks like you have a timer enabled in the alarms menu.

I have checked stock alarm, Gentle Alarm, and Alarm Clock Extreme.
None have this icon. Maybe the OP downloaded another 3rd party alarm app?
You've turned on the timer for a camera..
Ehhhh wrong... notification toggle... I think. I had to use this on my atrix.
Edit: looks like I was wrong too.. I can't remember what its called but I used to use this app. It had a full set of toggles in the notification bar.

Found it.
It's Power Control Plus.
Power Control Plus Widget
Jogged my memory when you mentioned toggles ChongoDroid, so I looked through all my TiBu apps, restored a couple, and found it was this one.

OP, next time could you please update with a new post, or edit the subject with [SOLVED]. When you edit the OP it doesn't update and view that there is a new post/edit, so we typically don't look at the OP again. I just noticed I found what your problem was 2 hours after you posted you had fixed it. Could have saved me quite a bit of time if I knew you had resolved your problem. Cheers.

[Q] (Q) What is up with my notification bar

Attached is a screenshot. Everytime I check notifications a weird rando number shows up in upper left corner. Weird characters show up instead of times on text messages as well. Anyone else have this issue?
Looks like an app you installed is causing that. Def a battery app. Your battery meter in the notification bar is showing the percent left of the battery which is not stock. Try checking the settings of the app you installed.

I agree. Probably that battery widget app. I would try to uninstall and see if that stops it. Then reinstall.
I have the same one I believe, and it is working fine.
I can't for the life of me figure out how you get the "notifications" and "quick settings" options at the bottom of your dropped down notification bar. How did you do that?

looks like the OP is rooted and he was able to change that setting. looks like hes rooted because his sprint GPS circle is MIA. i hate that damn circle!
Rooted with venom. I'll try uninstalling battery widget

Battery widget wasnt the culprit
Check your DEVELOPER settings. I think there's an option in there that superimposes some info onto the screen.

Carrier name disappearing?

My first GS3 I noticed the carrier name would randomly disappear and reappear....turns out it needed to be replaced due to not receiving mms messages. It also had a dot smack dab in the middle of the indicator LED. In any case, I exchanged it and this one does the same thing. Does yours do it too? Im on AT&T by the way. The phone works fine, its just an observation.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA App
nope. my AT&T logo is ALWAYS on the top left. super annoying. i hate it there and want to get rid of it.
Mine seems to show up only when I pull down the task bar. When the task bar is hidden, all I see are the notifications and the juice defender icon.
Same here. I am on Sprint.

[Q] Faded dot on the left of the notification bar?

What is that faded dot, which appear sometimes on the left of notification bar... like a notification but it's not?
does it show with headphones plugged in?
If it is as Envious is suggesting, then its the Smart connect thing. Or maybe you are talking about the Noisecanceling which appear like a wave sort of.

Like the one in the attached picture ?
A flag, SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE, can be passed to indicate that certain UI elements be put into a Low Profile and offer less of a distraction to the user. If I had a nexus device (really any device with soft buttons across the bottom) then I would also notice those buttons being replaces by the same dim circle I'm seeing in my navbar.
This has been available since 4.0 and is intended for book readers, games, and other immersive applications.
Maybe you have some sort of app that are running in the background. Try to check your task manager.
It's not related with headphones. It looks just like the one in the attachment but if so it should replace a notification, which i dont see after it disappears.
I'll try to get a screenshot the first time i see it.
And please check the task manager to check what is open. Please take screenshot of that too
Unfortunately, i forgot to check running apps but i dont expect any surprises because it was after a video watch. so yes a full screen app was working but there is no clue that it's for visual enhancement and it just disappears after a page refresh.
if it's a notification, i cant get to read it.
I wonder if it can override the gps icon? Maybe it's a notification that what you are using is accessing your location.
I've checked it with the notifications log, it was empty. So it's probably the hidden icon of the running video app in fullscreen. it emerges when i use mx player, as well. thanks for the brainstorming

Notification Issues

Can't get notifications from Facebook, Words With Friends, Facebook Messenger and other apps. No badge notifications or alerts. And I get Facebook Messenger notifications at the top of the screen with every text sent or recorded WHILE USING FACEBOOK MESSENGER! Anyone else having notification issues?
I texted with Samsung tech support (big mistake!) and they said that it was a hardware issue and to return the S9+ to Verizon for replacement. This makes no sense to me. Sounds like a software issue. Thoughts?
what launcher are you using?
if stock Samsung launcher, pinch in on the screen and go to settings... you'll find that notification badges have to be turned on there separately for some annoying reason
if any other launcher, make sure you've given it notification access under accessability so the launcher can read notifications and give you the correct 'badge' for the icon
I heard that for some, the battery optimization might be running too aggressively. Try going into battery usage, settings (3 dots), then battery optimization, then select to show all apps, then try unselecting the apps your having problems with. Give it a run for a few days to see if that helps.
I am using Samsung's launcher. Spent 2 hours on the phone with them. Tried everything. Nothing works. May have to do a factory reset
It's software issues. I got the same problem.

Tried your suggestion. So far, no dice.
Yeah I am looking toward a factory reset too. Notification issue but different. no Edge Lighting alerts.
I have tried everything I can think of to get Edge Lighting Notifications to work. After a week with this phone I am yet to see one. Samsung Experience Home. Notifications on for everything. No apps have Optimise battery usage. All I get is a notification tone, an icon on the AOD and a status bar icon. But for me Edge Lighting Notifications are totally MIA!
So I eventually got some Edge Lighting alerts to work. Primarily by going into each and every app that I awn the alerts from and setting "Do not disturb custom exception" to On within it Notification area. PITA to have to do this in each app when it should be settable from the system notification area one would think. Now have it working for Whatsapp, Skype and Samsung Messaging.
But for love or money I cannot get it to work for GMail. Anyone else got Edge Lighting alerts working with GMAIL. Setting "Do not disturb custom exception" does not do it.
