I have an HTC Thunderbolt running Liquid Gingerbread v3.0 ROM version liquid.mecha.20111007.150023 with a kernal 2.6.35.14-imoseyon-4.1.2AOSP
My problem is that videos from the internet will no longer play, they used to play. I have tried both the stock browser and Dolphin browser to no avail.
Youtube videos in either browser will play audio but no video, just a black box. In the youtube app, no audio or video will load, just the spinning loading wheel.
In Vimeo I get vertical colored bars in both browsers with audio.
Videos from other sources either won't load or will play only audio with a black video box.
I had this problem a long time ago when I first installed this ROM. There was a Flash video fix I had downloaded from this forum that I can no longer find. Anyone know what I am talking about?
I fear I have installed a Flash video update that has broken video on my phone, that is the only theory I have. Please help, I would like to watch video again.

If his fix doesn't work for you then try using mxplayer and the codex for arm devices. The flash fix didn't work me.

Yea this version of flash worked for me too when I was running liquid 3.2 gingerbread
Also jesman you should update to liquid 3.2 and imoseyon 6.2.1 kernel if your gonna run liquid
To get Flash 10.3 working on the stock browser you need to do two things:
1) force stop the browser process
2) Remove all permissions for /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/config.data
*Fix also works for Dolphin. Just change com.android.browser to mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
Changing the permissions restricts the flash plugin or the stock browser or the webkit or I dunno what from reading config.data. This file is screwing with video playback of anything over 240p.
What's weird is that the config.data generated for 10.2 and 10.3 appears to be identical, except for the ProductVer string. Since the file contains settings for h264 high, baseline and main profiles, there's probably some change in 10.3 to the way it uses this information.
Either way, this is a bandaid for those that don't wish to use Opera until the heart of the issue is found/addressed.
I claimed no credit for this post. Read it in a cyanogenmod forum credit goes to OneLikeSeaBass

Deleting the config.data file also seems to have the same effect. It rebuilds that after you delete so there are no I'll effects.

Ok, wow thanks guys for the feedback. I am going to give these a try later tonight and I will post back the results.
This forum is great!
The solution from heath2805 worked. Deleting the config file only fixed the youtube app. Thanks again!

I don't know if this has been covered but I've searched briefly but came with nothing.
I'm getting annoying stuttering every 5secs or so on youtube videos with youtube app(one I donwloaded off the market). Using flash works fine. Is there different version of youtube for tegra?
I'm using vegantab ginger rc1
Thanks.

How are you connected, wifi or tethered and are you using the You Tube app or the browser version?
For me wifi works fine, being tethered not so good & the YouTube app is more reliable.
any high def YouTube usually stutters for me wifi or whatever in any ginger rom.
There is no acceleration in gingerbread for the g tab yet because there are no drivers available. If you want video acceleration stick with froyo for now.
I have installed the calkulin+clemson v5 combo and it works great....Super fast and stable. However, whenever I'm browsing the web and come across a video, the browser crashes. Doesn't matter which browser (the default or dolphin HD.) The whole reason I have a Gtab is to browse the internet, so not have internet videos on this rom is a killer. For example, an embedded youtube video will make browser crash but using youtube app on same video will work fine. Any local video playback is also fine. If no one can help me this can someone recommend a better rom for ONLY browsing the web and sometimes (rarely) playing local videos? Thanks for any help!

Can't speak specifcally about v5 (which is bl1.1 branch), but I am running calkulin+clemson combo v6(bl 1.2 branch) and I have no problems. I can view any flash video from any site; Neflix, Youtube, Hulu, Amazon Videos, Crackle, etc (except Neflix & Crackle from their apps) from the default browser). Have you downloaded the lastest Flash?
It won't let me install flash 10.3 probably because of some compatibility issues. I'll check out version 6, wish me luck 'jumping the gap.'
Could someone link me to the proper way to go from bl 1.1 to 1.2?

If I rememeber correctly, I couldn't do a direct upgrade either...had to uninstall 10.2 then install 10.3
Wow aabbandanza. I just finished installing bl 1.2 clemsyn caulakin Ver 6. And I checked to make sure the embedded videos didn't crash my browser and it crashes . I came back here to post my depressed thoughts and I see that you had first uninstalled 10.2 and then downloaded/installed 10.3. Well, I did that and videos now work! I was turned off by doing something like that because in the release notes the OP mentions that flash VER 10.2.x.x.x would come pre-installed and I figured that I shouldn't mess with that version because it was the only one that would work....silly me. Thanks for solving my problem. Moving to BL 1.2 was totally unnecessary. I could have taken the 30 seconds to uninstall and re-install flash for the same effect! Thanks guys!

If you want to be able to watch Hulu, you will have to download the modified version of Flash. If interested, check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077914&highlight=modiefied+flash and download the latest version that will work with Hulu...curently 10.3.185.25
Didn't know where to post this as the other sections are named "gen8" only.
I've tried to search this out but haven't found anything..
So with stock roms (.79 and .80) and preinstalled flash player i have some troubs playing flash videos from videoweed etc.
With player 11 videos start then freeze and then the browser (tried with stock browser, dolphin tab and hd, opera and maxthon) just forcecloses itself.
With custom stock (rooted etc from surdu) same behaviour.
So I downgraded flashplayer to version 10.3,with that i have no more FCs but videoplaying (ie videoweed) is really choppy and laggy (desktop mode).
Anyone with the same probs? Any solutions? Thanks and sorry if I wronged the section.

I have to reinstall flash 11 constantly through ghostexplorer, and many times opera closes itself. For me it's not rooted firmware fault. Flash is a horror on pc with powerful CPUs, maybe with our "simple cpu" is better to uninstall flash completely. ciao
So it'd be better if flash videos just turn into html5 ones? XD

I use opera with flash on tap. That works when I tap it. I also use swap, so that may help

hi guys,
looked through the fora but could not find something maybe someone can help me out.
I have bad lag when i watch flashvideos in my browsers. all of them same lag. standardbrowser, skyfire, mozilla, dolphin.
Anyone with the same problem and even better anyone a solution?
Yeah I started thread couple week ago. It's in a q& a section. Unfortunately, there's no solution as of yet regarding video freezing but sound keep playing when streaming on network. Playing on wifi works fine.
One thing I found helps is restarting phone before starting Netflix for example or watching from browser.
Also note YouTube app does not suffer from this, so sometimes if it's a YouTube video embedded in the Page I just click on video link to be able to watch in the app instead of browser.

mine does the freezing on wifi too.so i am not the only one out there. i got to call samsung holland i guess. can not keep restarting the phone. but tell me what is this Jkay mod? can i do it on a non rooted phone?
Yes I'm also suffering this problem. On network or WiFi on all browsers. Pain in the arse!

Flash doesn't lag on the GS3. But it does freeze frequently. If it lags then very likely you aren't actually using flash but the html5 player instead.
Netflix app does not actually use nor is dependant on flash. Also uninstalling flash completely, so that videos that do play, default to html5, still freeze while sound keeps playing, which leads to conclusion that it's not flash issue.

Try ICS Browser+ from Google play...
Flash videos did lag for me initially, so I tried clearing the application data but that wasn't possible. So I installed flash 10, which was incompatible, then updated it using Google Play to flash 11 and it seems to work better now.

UPDATE: December 13, 2012, Fixes Major 480p Bug, if you have the latest Android 4.1.2
Adobe Flash Player is not just alive and kicking, it has gotten back up, dusted itself off, and is ready to kick some butt.
The Galaxy Note II is future-proof when it comes to Adobe Flash Player support, although it is not officially supported. The apk installers will be available directly from Adobe, and they will keep being updated.
Step 1: Download the apk file below to your device and install when finished. (No rooting necessary.)
Step 2: Open up any browser, except Chrome.
Step 3: Enjoy.

Works well when streaming video in full screen..I have tested on boat browser, stock browser and firefox browser.
The only annoying thing is on note 2 when streaming, my device goes to sleep after 30 seconds when not touching anything while streaming. This does not happen on my galaxy S2 or note 1(the display remains on)

Interesting. I've never had the flash player do that on me, although I am having issues with youtube flash videos on 480p.
I think a lot of these problems are dependent on sites because they all have their own flash app. Also, are you on the stock rom?
