UNLOCKED Prime JB Update Guide? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Anyone Have a Guide for Us unlocked People for JB. I saw 1 person on the general thread that said they got the update working on an unlocked prime. There are lots of guides on how to do this with a locked rooted one. Hell even a guide to put the tf301 on unlocked but nothing that i can find yet mind you with a step by step for the Unlocked Folks and there are A LOT OF US OUT HERE.
Thanks In Advance.

Basically, you need to restore to the complete bare stock .28 release... then follow the dlpkgfile instructions... maybe this may help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32113041&postcount=261

I would be very interested too

Has anyone volunteered to work on a straight CWM version yet?

yep we need an easy way of installing it so custom roms can start to rollout faster! i dont know if the locked instructions are going to work, they could cause a brick.

Clarification?
Could someone please clarify the order of operation to perform an update to JB on a rooted, unlocked TF201? Should I do the NVRAM backup procedure first? Should I replace clockwork with the latest TWRP?
Thanks, trying to keep score here at home and just don't want to get things out of order or screw myself in the process.

Yeah, I'm also waiting on something more simple such as a clockwork image. I have an un-locked prime and have been searching all day on an easy way to get official 4.1 on this tablet.

Update zip for unlocked bootloaders... have fun!!

thank you.
But I am trying it right now. I am flashing back to stock GB as we speak and going to test it.
So let me see if I understand (I read a few articles about this) I don't have to be rooted to flash this? What I'm wondering is if I do flash this without root and unlocked bootloader, how would I go about reverting back to Gingerbread if I wanted too?

In my observations you would be able to flash it fine without root. But in order to go back to GB you would need to unlock your hboot. You'll be able to unlock it after you flash.

im no expert by any means but if i had to guess you would have to unlock your bootloader then flash a custom recovery then modify your main ver of your phone like what this thread says http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526316
there is a easy flashable in recovery zip in i think post #4 of that fourm that might be easier than the tool in post #1 of the forum.
but you will probably want to wait for someone to answer who acually tested it or know for sure.

True. If he tried to go back to GB after flashing the ICS he would get the mainver error if he tried flashing a boot.img in hboot. If he used fastboot to flash the boot.img he would get no error.
So I'm running rooted stock with an unlocked bootloader at the moment. If I wanted to flash this, do I need to re-lock the bootloader?

[Q] Unlocked via HTCDEV.com.....What next tho?

Hi there, i have managed to unlock my Evo 3D via HTCDEV.com just fine. I am running HBOOT 1.49.0018 and what i would like to know is what is my next step? Do i use Htc Supertool v3 next for something? Or do i try to install a rom? If i have to install a rom could someone please give me a few pointers please as i am reading a lot of different thoughts on the whole rooting process. I have had some valuable info from a few 'seasoned' and very knowledgeable forum members, but i am unsure of the following steps........i amazed myself that i managed to unlock it to tell you the truth lol ;-)...........a big thanks for any help offered.
What do you want to do, seems a legit question?
I unlocked the bootloader to root the stock ROM, so I can use certain applications.
I don't flash other ROMS, because the only ROM i'd flash would be a fully functional MIUI or AOSP ROM, which unfortunately aren't available.

Yes, the HTCDev method erases all data.
thank you for the reply.

@KrewsialNL Yes you are right bud, I should have made my intentions a little more clear. What I want to do is unrestrict my handset enabling me to use the DLNA functions etc, and just give me a little more flexibility with various roms and mods. As I said in my previous post, all I have managed to do is unlock via HTCDEV.com, and I am unsure of my next steps and the programs/software downloads required to get me there. Hope this info answers your question bud.
Could someone please help me with advice on my next step...............Thanks

Installing ICS - Is this the right procedure?

Would this be the right procedure? I was reading the wiki and want to ask..
I would do the following...
(I am rooted; BulletProof 2.5.. Android 2.3.4 - Tmobile)
1) Follow this tutorial to unroot and get back to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27058110&postcount=44
2) Follow this tutorial to install ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26865752&postcount=27
3) AND...Then... I will be unrooted..
How would I root again on ICS?
So is this the right procedure??
and what would I do for (#3)?

You don't necessarily need to use my OTA tutorial if you're gonna restore to complete stock GB, then you can just download the file via the software update option on your phone and let it install the update itself, the guy above answered your final question already.

, go for it then. If you're on tmobile, there's a file that can be used as a PH85IMG to update instead, that may be a bit easier if the OTA is iffy.

Relocked is the same and when attempting s-off, stock rooted rom is a better call, it saves you the hassle that custom roms may cause.
I mean the MD5 sums fail on both PHP8img w/e name... and the nand backup to restore to original ginger garbage.. so I think it's because I have to relock my bootloader by doing OEM_lock or whatever the command is.
do I have to lock bootloader to go back to stock?
and also.. do I need to flash the original kernel?
come on.. someone answer me please... I will make a REALLY good tutorial noob proof for everyone else when I finish doing this.

I was also having problems with my downloads so I downloaded thru my phone. I also found that I had better luck downloading straight from football's account on file factory. You can find his account on stock roms collection page 5 snargaflab post where it says "here"
Hope this helps, as far as locking bootloader when s on I think you do have to lock bootloader. If nobody is helping I suggest you try it out.

Lock your bootloader via the fastboot oem lock command or use hasoon's tool to do it,
download this file here: http://d-h.st/3VD
Place that on your sd card and rename it PH85IMG do not place it in any folders, etc.
Reboot into hboot via the volume down/power button method, when your hboot finds the file, hit volume up to update, phone will reboot on it's own. You're on ICS.
Unlock your bootloader, install 4ext recovery via hasoon's tool and hit the Perm root ICS/GB option, follow all on screen instructions.
All done, official ICS and you're now rooted as well.

Unlocking your bootloader using HTCDev Unlock will allow you to flash a custom recovery. With a custom recovery, obtaining root is easy (plenty of flashable ZIPs for this). This has nothing to do with your version of HBOOT (or firmware or OTA version).
Read the guide I linked to above and it will answer these questions...

New DNA with Questions

I hope I posted this in the rigth section, if I didnt I appologize. So, I used to have an HTC Thunderbolt and yesterday I upgraded to the DNA and I love it. But I do have a few questions. See I want to root it, but I dont want to have to hassle with all the custom ROM stuff again. Plus all I really see a need for me is to have root access. So I did do some looking and came across these links

and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996389
Im still a little new to the rooting scene and just want to make sure I know what im doing before I do it. So here are my questions.
1) If I root will I still be able to install the OTA updates that come on my phone?
2) Are the two links above both rooting methods, just different ways of doing it?
3) If yes to 2, is there a current "best" way to root the DNA?
4) If I decide to un-root, is there a way to do that? (im sure there is and a guide even)
I think that is all the questions I have for now. Thank you very much and keep up the great work here.

Follow the first link you posted because in order to unlock the bootloader you need the super CID hack then after you do the super CID hack go to the htcdev.com page and follow those instructions and then either flash a rooted rom or the Subusybox.zip to get root
To un-root simply lock the bootloader and run the RUU file

2)Yes, but the second links to a thread which then in turn links to the first thread you in posted. Just use the first link you posted

4)ruu and fastboot oem lock, if your s off then its a little more complicated, but you will be able to be 100% stock as opposed to 99%

It means that the Security Flags have been turned OFF (S-OFF) and it allows you to write unsigned.img's and do other stuff to parts of the device that with Security ON you wouldn't be able too such as writing to the boot partition while in recovery, flash radios to the radio partition
