[Q] Bypass(hack) password without loosing any data - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed my job email from an exchange email server. To complete the install i had to enter either a password or pincode (which i did not have from before), I chose password and entered a 4 digit code of the same number (e.g. 4444).
When I try (tried) to unlock my phone it says that it is not a correct match. This could come from a typo made by me or something which I can not grasp. If I type the password wrong one more time (9 out of 10), it says that it will factory reset my phone and delete all content (i have nothing of my data on my sd card, and the last backup was about a year ago)
Either way, I have lots of stuff on my phone which I do not want to loose (which is not in my last back up), meaning I will do A LOT to avoid hard reset/factory reset, also meaning I ask if there is a way to bypass the password without any wipe?
PS. I understand that the question above just as well could be written by a thief or similar, however, I can only say that I am just a simple Norwegian that wants help to access my pics, msgs, memos etc.
PS. If it is not legal to ask this kind of question here; could not understand from forum rules, tell me so and I will delete the post accordingly.

So if you enter a wrong unlock password 10 times it will Wipe/Reset the phone and give you access to it? I have never wiped or factory reset my Galaxy S2, so that's why I am just curious.
About your case, I just don't think it would be a really good security system if there was a simple way to bypass it. Who knows? maybe there is?

Yes, at least thats what the security set up from my job email account has constructed. Or at least what it is, I am not 100% sure that it will happen, but i'm not willing to take the risk yet..
Of course, and I am not imagining that someone will give me a short solution. As I am asking, I want to know if it is possible, and if so hopefully a hint in the right direction and level of difficulty can be given.

Have you got root and CWM installed?

if you are running a rooted kernel that has adb u can pull your files and reset

But before that usb debugging needs to be enabled.

Nope, no root kernel, no cwm as far as I know.. Any options? I heard/read that it is possible to set the phone in debug mode and make a script as a solution to my problem, familiar with something like that and if it will work? Do not know what/how to do either, but I am willing to learn how to.

Flash Siyah kernel through Odin. After that you can make a CWM flashable zip to flash package which will contain a password deleting script.

Help! Phone crashed, reset my PIN!

So, got out of the car this morning, entered my lock screen PIN and as soon as I hit OK it crashed. Went right to the Samsung splash and rebooted. Now it won't accept my PIN - WTF!?!?!? I tried chatting with Verizon, who only offered two default PINs(1111 & 9392) and then said I need to hard reset. I don't want to hard-reset because I will have to start from scratch. When I got home, I called a local store, who said they don't have a service center there and transferred me to Technical Support. Because I had chatted earlier in the day, I quickly moved to a Tier 2 tech. She was going to have me do a hard reset, to which I told her I didn't want to risk losing my data. She said to plug it into my computer - well she forgot the fact that the phone won't allow access to the files when it's locked! She said everything should automatically save to the SD card - she obviously didn't know that the S4 doesn't come with one in the package - thus it doesn't save to the SD card by default! She was trying to research more for an alternative, but somehow they disconnected me - arrggh!!!!
So here I am - locked out and with no help from Verizon. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone out there that can help me or point me in the right direction?
No wipe factory images from the dev section. Itll restore your phone to stock but youll keep your downloaded apps and associated data. If you have never used odin there is a guide explaining the process. Its pretty simple.

Imho i'd just do a factory reset... Then if you're rooted, after you factory reset your phone, just restore from a nandroid. I just dont know if that'll delete your nandroids too....

Me too, if it was me i'll do a factory reset so my head wouldn't ache too much. hahaha. Soooooo many problems. Errr. A factory reset is one great solution. But if it was me only. okay? It's up to you
Here is what I have tried so far:
1) No-wipe factory image - loaded fine using ODIN and booted, but didn't remove the screen lock/PIN:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
2) Try to access files to modify/delete the lockscreen/lock_pattern/gesture files to remove he screen lock/PIN working through Recovery
a) ADB SHELL- I have debugging turned on, but shell access is dendied due to the phone being locked with the PIN and having updated to ME7, which now requires confirmation via the phone to fully connect and gain access.b) Load non-factory Recovery/File Manager - Aroma & Philz
i)SD card - will load, but fail as not certified
ii) ADB - sideload and push, including sideload through Recovery, will load them, but fail as not certified
iii) FASTBOOT - can't get fastboot to see the phone and the phone won't take commands
iv) ODIN - will load them, but fail as not certified
3) Google Play - No option comes up on the screen to log in via Google Play. I do have an account active, I even saw the 'M' mail symbol even pop up in the header once when an email came through. I can also install apps and tried installing a few screen unlock apps by logging into Google play from a computer to install on my phone, as it still connects to wifi and is set to automatically install updates.
Similar thread, but I am not rooted like the two people there, so can't push through with the methods mentioned(like I tried in #2 above):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153308
I would ask for direct help in the Philz thread, but I can't because its a developer thread and I have less that 10 posts. One person who posted on page 5 or 6 said they were able to load Philz without being rooted.
Any other suggestions, ideas, placed too look, things to consider? Please remember, I don't want to factory reset and lose all my photos/videos saved on the device.
Use the odin image that wipes everything. Also in the dev section.
Edit
Forgot you didnt want to lose yout apps and stuff. Ill do some researching and see if I cant find anything. Can you access your phone at all after a reboot or does it go straight to lockscreen?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Can you adb pull from recovery or Odin mode?
On my GNex I had something catastrophic happen and I was able to adb pull everything off internal SD from the bootloader screen. Took awhile as I had 20GB of stuff on there. Then wiped everything completely, restored everything to stock, pushed everything back to my phone, and started from scratch. Had my nandroid and TiBu, so as soon as I installed recovery it was as simple as restoring it.
This was back when android went from 4.1.2 to 4.2, and there were all these leaked images to flash, and I just had to try one. I forget all the commands, but if I had to do it again I'm sure it's not hard to Google "adb pull"
Would this be possible with the S4?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
No dice in either mode. Trying to do a pull ends in errors like the other commands due to blocked access by the bootloader. I tried going to a store today and they offered no additional help. The trained sales monkeys had the nerve to tell me that THEY were technicians and that the only solution is to wipe the phone. I know this isn't true, I just need to breach the lower levels to get to someone who actually knows the platform instead of what they read in their customer service training manual. The problem is that Verizon had built so many levels now that they have basically phased out high-level tech services from their stores and out-sourced most of it and service work. I know this is fixable, but just have to find a resource or way to access the files to do it. It's not like my phone is a brick. It works perfectly fine except I just can't unlock the screen to use it. When it comes down to it, it's just one corrupt file causing me some much frustration.
And you're on stock? So stock recovery too? I think some of the custom recoveries are adb friendly, but I don't know if you can flash a custom recovery.... I wonder if you can root, odin a recovery like clockwork mod or TWRP, and do an adb pull without unlocking the screen... are you on ME7 update or MDK or whatever.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
ME7, stock rom, stock recovery, not rooted. The current root for ME7 must be done from the phone using a script. Since I'm locked out, I can't do that. I don't know about Clockwork, but TWRP requires that you be rooted. Aroma, CWM and Philz do not, but the stock recovery blocks their installation - including from SD card, ADB SIDELOAD and ODIN modes - that includes as ZIPs, images and TAR files. If I could get any recovery loaded, I would be able to go delete the password file and set the option to null and and ADB PULL wouldn't be needed. So what I need is one of four ways to work:
1) Gain access through ADB or some other manner to get my pictures/videos off so I can just wipe
2) Gain access through ADB to delete files using ADB SHELL to navigate
3) Manage to get some sort of file manager or custom recovery loaded, then go delete the files
4) A modified no-wipe rom that would replace the files and not touch my pictures/videos?
Well, you can't flash anything while on ME7. I guess they really did make it more secure with that update.
My guess is you SOL. You can wait and see if they're able to get a way to put a recovery on ME7 and hope there's a way to do it without having to boot system.
Or do a hard reset.
What data are you trying to preserve? Have you popped out your micro SD and checked to see if it saved on there?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Nothing was saved on the SD card. Verizon and Samsung couldn't get that either - they don't sell this phone with one, so by default it saves to the phone. I never changed the settings because I used my SD card only for music.
Well, looks like I am SOL until a work-around is found. I spent another hour on the phone with Verizon today. The girl was helpful, but I didn't get to nay higher of a tech level. She said Verizon can't remote in to the phone and sending it in would only get it flashed(hard reset). She conference called with Samsung, who also said they couldn't remote in to phone and could only have me do a hard-reset. The Verizon lady then tried a local store who said that as of last year, they no longer can access customer phones to pull pictures, etc. For now, it appears I have hit the tech support ceiling. I told both the Verizon and Samsung that I find it highly unlikely that both would manufacture a proprietary version of the Android OS to run on that phone for that service company that didn't have some way to access it - it they are the ones that secure it, then some level of support somewhere has the ability to access around it. I may try emailing support/customer service for those two and Google development to see where I can get. I may try PM-ing a few developers for help in the mean-time. This is such a crock of sh*t!!!!
I have no idea if any of this would work....I didn't even read the whole article but maybe something in here will help you out. http://null-byte.wonderhowto.com/ho...u-bypass-android-pattern-lock-screen-0138807/
A lot of this is about pattern unlock but maybe pin unlock has the same features?
Looks like the apps are for 4.0 and below, so that won't help. I also read that someone wiped cache in stock recovery and for some reason was then able to see his files while connected to the computer.....probably a fluke.
I dont get it. All the time used with flashing snd research you could have judt entered every number from 0000 thru 9999 if it's a 4 digit pin?
Am I wrong? Or is there something that stops you from doing this?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
That's 10,000 different numbers. It locks you out for 5 minutes when you get it incorrect too many times.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
ADB won't connect, even though I do have debugging on, because the ME7 update forces confirmation from the phone to connect for debugging. But yes, that will be the method to try to clear the pin code - it would be the password.key file instead of gesture.key. The first day I did try installing some other lockscreen-disabling apps compatible with 4.2 remotely through Google Play, but they don't automatically start so it wasn't any help.
Even if I were to try 10,000 PINs, I don't think it would work. I believe the file is just corrupt and would never unlock with any number. I may try a few combinations I haven't yet to be sure though.
Do you happen to have cerberus installed? You can remote unlock
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
No, but I have Avast. However, I would think that the lock/unlock of Cerberus would be the same as Avast in that the program itself sets lock and it is separate from the lock screen PIN. I did try locking/unlocking the phone through Avast online without success. Good idea though and I appreciate any helpful suggestions such as this.
It wasn't available until just recently, but Avast offers a Backup add-on that would have saved my pictures for free and if you get paid version it will also do videos and other data. I tried adding it through Google Play, but you have to set up the picture backup from the phone - arrrggghhhhh!!!!
I PM'd one person with a little Verizon inside info that said to ask a store if they have a Cellebrite machine which could possibly download the photos/vids. I may try calling a local Verizon store again and possibly some stores that cell used ones or do repair. Now that I know what to ask for, maybe I can get somewhere.
I haven't had a chance to try and flash with Odin yet in the stock ME7 OTA... If you could flash an Odin stock restore, then this would be perfect:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23032113221600748
I thought you could flash with Odin on the ME7 OTA as long as it was a stock-unrooted tar.md5.. But I guess I heard wrong.
Just a point of interest (something else to maybe look into), the stock recovery will let you flash an "update.zip" I believe. Off the top of my head I cannot recall the details for creating an update.zip that the stock-unrooted recovery will take... But it's definitely something worth looking into.
If you've been without the phone for a few weeks already, you probably wouldn't mind sending it off to get fixed.
Get in touch with me via Google Talk/Hangouts and we can figure out what I could possibly do with my resources here. I am going to look into my JTAG and see about possibly saving your data.

[Q] Hard reset without access to phone?

Hithere,
I've searched the forum and can't find an answer.
Is there a way to reset the phone without having access to Settings? I've forgotten my pattern and can't remember my secret question, so I need to wipe the phone completely. I am happy to do this, just need to know how.
I've read a few different snippets from around the internet but none of them seem trustworthy (and also don't work either!)
Thanks,
Gausie
if your on a rooted phone. backup first and reboot to recovery then wipe settings. if not then i think there is no other way or i could just be mistaken

This was barely intelligible, to be honest. My understanding is that someone else rooted and modded your phone and you don't know what's going on. Simple enough - find the RUU (Rom Update Utility) for your phone. Need to make sure it is for the original carrier or region and the same software version (not just the android version) or higher than the one you are on. You will want to boot to the bootloader mode and see if the phone is S-On or S-Off. If it is S-On, you will need to relock the bootloader. Once you get the appropriate RUU and install that via PC, then you'll be back to stock and factory reset.

Just ruined my brand new tablet thanks to FRP. Can anyone help?

Hello,
I've got myself a tablet the other day. It's a Point of View TAB I847. Android 5.1
I was at a friends house and wanted to try the tablet. So I registered some random account at google because I couldn't remember the password of my own.
Today I resetted the device and wanted to start over with my actual account. Now I'm stuck at the point where I'm supposed to sign in with the account I've previously used with the tablet, and I couldn't remember the login to save my life.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? Even somehow figuring out the gmail account name I used would help me, because I remember the password.
PS: I'm very mad at google for activating this feature without telling me about it before I was resetting the device.
Did you do a factory reset using recovery? That should work if you haven't tried it yet
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA-Developers mobile app
@jantdroid solution would work for sure
Press volume up and power key simultaneously until phone boots and then release the power key. It make take up to 20sec to boot into recovery. Once in recovery, either choose a factory reset option or wipe user data (whatever option you get ).
Do a reboot after that, and it will be as if you're using it for first time
Hmm yeah I did that. I chose "wipe data/factory reset" and it does that. But once the device rebooted and I'm setting it up, Google asks me to log-in with the account that I have previously synched the device with (which I can't remember).
If you've a warranty, get to your retailer to get it fixed (carry your bill there )
If not, head over to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838435, make sure you've the same device then and then only proceed to below step.
1.flash a custom recovery, reboot into recovery and do a full wipe.
Reboot, this time it should work.
2.thought, you won't require this, if you will, flash any custom rom and don't flash gapps. Boot the rom, setup your device and then reboot to recovery and flash the gapps and reboot. (This time google is out of your way )

This is basically the next step if the factory reset didn't work. I don't think the retailer will consider this problem as under warranty though.
It would be wise yo recover your google account by all means, backup email address, phone recovery pasword, etc.
If you're really out of hand of everything in trying to recover your google account.
Then that's the time you try to flash a custom recovery and/or flash a custom rom to regain access to your phone.

Thank you guys. I've contacted the dealer but they basically said that they can't help me. They don't take back locked devices either. This is the biggest case "not owner of my own device" I've ever experienced personally.
I'm trying to flash it now. Though I'm not sure how I'm going to "Enable debugging on device" without being able to access it
Also pretty sure it's not the same device(?). Mine is by Point Of View and produced in 2016 also known as "Mobii TAB-I847"
If you can't remember the credentials you used you have a problem:

I don't know this device but if there's a 4.4 rom for it, it could help you.

Oh well, I tried the stuff he shows in the video, but it seems they have fixed the "share" exploit. I managed to use the camera app from the lockscreen though! so that's a huge step forward
Purchasing a OTG now, might come in handy.
Also purchased a new tablet now because I've already spent too much time and energy on this. Might come back to it later though. GOOD GAME GOOGLE! Next time please ask if I want your silly protection feature, k?

Well that is one feature used in LL 5.1 and looks like it's just a mimic of iOS lockdown feature too. Flashing a ROM less than 5.1 just like KK will remove that lockdown. Goodluck on unlocking it again in the future. [emoji1]

How would I got about doing this though? I don't see a way to flash anything on to it without getting past the FRP first...
Also I can't seem to find a custom rom for this model. Or are there like generic ones? Sorry, I'm a noob in this field...
Sorry to say but your device is different so don't flash it.
Until something new to recover it, is found out you can go to mobile specialist to get your device qflash(ed). (This is same method by which a factory system is installed )

Huawei p30 lite root

Hello everybody.
I have a simple Question about root on this model, is it possible to do?
And if it is possible, tell me how Please.
Best regards
Wojtek
I am looking for the same too
Me too... Looks like it is still impossible
Only paid method and who knows it will be work on my p30 lite......hmm
Hello ppl,
I know this might be a little old.. any way just for the knowledge lets bring this thread back.
I had the same concern for a while, and kind of eager to get mine rooted.. until now.
I managed to unlock mine, and root it succesfully. Latest version of magisk, safty net passed, root essentials running like a charm, I can ADB in to it and su yey!
How? main issue here is my p30 lite MAR-LX3A was already in emui10, and somehow this little sucker wont allow the unlock of the bootloader regardless. I used a unlock tool that is advised to work for this model using testpoint short. how ever it was not working for me, until I read the EMUI had to be downgraded to 9.1.
Once runnig EMUI9.1 I didnt had to re-run the tool it was already unlocked. weird.
Any how the unlocker tool I used was not the ABD/fastboot tools, it was a paid app in case you are still interested in getting it done I can tell you how. Just keep in mind you will need to Open the back cover of the device.
Think is there is no custom recovery image available that works, neither a custom ROM, so all you have is pretty much root access.
I beleive this to be a pretty decent phone so I dont want just to ditch it, I am working to get a TWRP image, if I a managed to so I will get a ROM done as well. Think the whole device has been off the track for dedicated modders and devs, so it has just not been worked on.
which me luck. I'll keep you posted
I used an unlock bootloader service for 15$. First i had to downgrade my emui from 10 to 9.
I can run magisk without problem. My only problem is that i wan't super su. I was able to flash TWRP Recovery 3.2.1.0 (HiSilicon Kirin 710). But i couldn't use it because the folder are encrypted. So if anyone has any idea how to decrypt this let me know

I'm gonna look for that TWRP img, I didnt find a working one acutally. is there a specific reason why you rather use super su ?
about encryption you usually need to make sure there is no password configured, I read somewhere about a guy that had his Face recognition still configured, and that was the reason he was unable to unencrypt. there are some zips you can flash somwhere around, but never tried them

I deactivated all passwords etc. But it didn't work for me. The only reason i need supersu is because i wan't recover some deleted contacts and mails after factory reset. And those Windows applications with real deep scan not works with magisk.

why dont you try getting an image of the partition with DD, convert it and mount it in the PC directly, I beleive using the scan software directly against the phone is more complicated than just scanning a directly attached block device.

there are a few things to try... you can go to wipe menu in TWRP then use the fix/repair option against the system encrypted partition..
-try reparing it
-try changing the partition from ext4 (check first the type usually ext4) to ext2, then change it back to what it was, ext4
last resource:
-wipe all data/factory reset ***** You WILL loose all your personal data if you do this **** just make a backup MANUALLY before doing this.. if you use TWP backup pbby your back will be encrypted too...
I manage to get mine unencrypted with this last step, took a few attempts, but had to reflash Stock so its back to encryption
Maybe we should create our own TWRP version for the p30 lite. There are many tutorials ^^

agreed I have been working on one that truely works, but there are a few blanks about how TWRP really works.. and its boot process. I have learned a little this past week, but still think gonna have to reverse engineer a working img to get some answers.... I was actually thinking on building a orange fox image better not sure what would be easier..
I have lots of work so I do this in my free time, but let me know if you want a help perhaps we can get something and port a nice ROM that's worth the device
.

there are a few things to try... you can go to wipe menu in TWRP then use the fix/repair option against the system encrypted partition..
-try reparing it
-try changing the partition from ext4 (check first the type usually ext4) to ext2, then change it back to what it was, ext4

thank you for the suggestions. unfortunately does not work :-(
Please keep us posted, really excited to see a custom rom for this phone, also could you elaborate on the process of unlocking the bootloader? My back cover is already broken so I have to open it up anyways

Sure, ive been busy but will try my best.. about the unlock process I end up paying 19 euros... But try using fastboot unlock first.. may save you the money not sure...
1. Downgrade to emui 9.1 .. just plug the p30 lite to PC, install hsuite... Go for the firmware/software update... A pop up screen will show up with some small letters buttom rigth.. older releases or revert to older firmware something like that.. you will get too choose 9.1 only ... Choose that and apply.. Keep an eye out.. this will delete everything in your phone... Next boot you will be in 9.1.. avoid the automatic upgrade.
2. Turn the phone off, take the back cover and locate the testpoints.. short by using metal wire... The small aluminium wire wraps that come with bread and other bags for easy close are usefull just remove some plastic in each side... connect the usb cable to PC.. leave the phone side unplugged.. Touch test point with the wire while the other side touches a metal cover in the phone.. while doing it plug the phone to the USB cable.. the charging animation should not appear . . . Screen must stay black.. otherwise do it again.. if done right the device manager will detect COM port for your device
Identify the point with this video
3. use either app you want to detect testpoint mode and unlock... I managed to do it with a 3 day unlimited license for HCU client.. that did the trick their website have some tutorials easy to follow.
Hi all,
I have the same problem like a few other people. I unlocked the phone with HCU, and after I tried to root with magisk (by trwp) But the main issue, the phone is encrypted and the installation proccess of the magisk by the trwp got failed. How can I root this phone? Anybode has success with this?
Thank you!
