I've tried WANAM and ARHD and they both have a lot of bugs, random crashes, reboots, launcher reloads, lags when opening apps. I'm utterly disappointed, what rom would you guys recommend?
If I flash the latest stock rom will it be flawless?
Best rom discussion is banned.....

There is no such thing as the best rom.
I'm using ARHD too with stock kernel and there is no bugs, no random crashes, no reboots, no launcher reloads but there is some lags only when I'm installing something from the Play store.

Best roms are subjective. What the best rom is for one person, is all wrong for another.
These type of threads are useless. Best way to find is is try them all and find out which is best for YOU

Good morning.
Ive been using my i9300 for about two months now. Im a former iPhone 4 user. I have noticed that the i9300 despite the fact that it has quad-core and 1GB RAM, is not at all smooth :/ I always get lag in the Homescreen and in the settings etc etc. I've tried like 20 ROMS or so :/ am i doing something wrong here? E.g. scrolling between homepages can get laggy! That wasnt supposed to happen right?\
Im currently at MIUI 2.9.14 ROM. Maybe im doing something wrong when i flash a new ROM?
What are the steps?
I delete the whole internalSD, i perform a data/factory reset via CWM, i delete cache and Dalvik Cache. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

The rom you are on has problem of memory leak.
Just use a samsung-based rom. Your trouble will be fixed.

Yeah try that combo. Wanam or Omega Jelly Bean XXDLI8 leaks are very smooth.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
there are plenty of custom roms out there,
most of the JB leaks are much smoother than the ICS roms i have been using.( i am sure there are ICs roms that are smooth as well , just that i have not tested before. )
currently on Omega v23 and happy with it, no lags. you may just have to spend some time experimenting which one is to your preference.
Sir, I suggest you try out Omega ROM (ICS or JB) doesn't really matter, cause Omega is really really stable. I'm not prompting whatsoever because I'm on MIUI 2.9.14 too with hardcore speed mod kernel and it is perfectly great.
One advice, try not flashing so many ROMs at one go because it might cause system error such as connectivity to wifi or packet data. Stick to one you really like.
Edit: Do a full wipe, flash back stock firmware on PC Odin and root again to remove any bad 'history' and the lag too.
Hope I did manage to help!
Great day

If you want a rapid ICS rom then use Foxhound 1.4.3, it is quite simply the best ICS rom there is, and believe me i've tried them all.
Couple it with Galaxsih kernel @normal and apex launcher not much comes close to it.
As for Jelly bean, take your pick but just know that there are no final builds as of yet and all of them are leaks, meaning that kernel support is limited.
Thanks everyone ive never flashed back to stock before i used custom rom and i think that May be it like one of you suggested. About that miui rom and hardcore speed mod. It works on any MIUI rom or only on specific ones? If it does work on every miui where can i find it? I really like miui

You are welcome mate hmm what do you mean?? I'm using hardcore speed mod on my MIUI rom and I don't experience any lag (Provided you use apex launcher PRO too) I even have great battery life (8 hrs of hardcore using; with wifi or packet data On). You can definitely flash speedmod on your MIUI 2.9.14 and you will know what I mean.
Omega ICS on the other hand, is really stable and having that 'stock-ish' feel. But on MIUI, you know we rule the game.
Edit: If you wanna try out Omega, do a full wipe, flash back stock firmware (It will unroot device) then root again then try out Omega. It is really your decision.
But again, you know who rule the game with MIUI. Haha.
Great day ahead.

i am also experiencing lag on my s3 i'm on wanamlite 3.3
To get rid of the memory leak, go to ES Explorer, give it root and write permissions (in its options), then go to system/bin/ and delete kiesexe. You won't be able to use Kies anymore, but it'll kill the leak because it's caused by that process.
you should use the stock TW without scrolling wallpaper mod =p
I just prefer you to flash DLI18 stock JB from sammobile, wipe everything before flash, and I would prefer you to change animation scale and duration scale from 1 to 0.5,

Just a suggestion.... If you really like MIUI, but want a smoother and more stable ROM, why don't you flash the latest CM10 build, and then install MiHome Launcher? MiHome Launcher is the default launcher used in MIUI and it comes with an optional MIUI lockscreen as well. Once both are installed, it's virtually indistinguishable from a full MIUI ROM. Plus, it'll have the speed and smoothness of Jelly Bean with the stability of CyanogenMod (or as stable as a pre-release build can be).
Anyway, it was just a thought. Good luck to ya'!

But i find it really annoying that HTC ONE X users have smoother ROMS than me Their stock is smoother than any Custom Rom ive used.. wtf exynos? Im really thinkin of selling my phone!
My mini pro sk17i running cm9 seems to be really laggy ..,,,, even temple run and subway surfer seem to be lagging a lot .. is there anyway to fix this??.. or atleast is there another rom and kernel that i could use that gives better performance and battery life .. i dont need a rom for heavy gaming just light ones ... could you please provide the link to the rom and kernel and installation instructions if possible ???
please help??..
Maybe you installed a bunch of stuff, the rom per se is not laggy, but it's not the most stable one. I can't suggest you anything since i've been in MIUI for the last months so i don't remember other roms... but you could just reflash or delete some ram-eater apps and games will work fine. Maybe add some scripts, supercharge it =D, project fluid are the best ones i know
thank you! could you show me the link to the miui rom link installation??

Ultimate HD 3.0.2 with CTC kernel..best choice..for ics
Just try Superleggera v5 odexed, because you will end up with that Rom anyway sooner or later
Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
Optimax currently the best stable/fast/functional ICS stockbased with AOSP look.
...I cant stand sony framework theme...
definitely I would recommend Superleggera v5 for ICS with CTC kernel / VDS kernel / Advanced Stock.
I tried all the roms, and came back Superleggera v5 after one / one an half week.
Apart from that, you can try (based on most days I have used) Iced Bin 3.5, optimax, zelly cream
If you don't mind native camera issue / hd video recording..
come to CM10 (jelly bin) with fusion kernel + Super jelly bin 4.0. It will throw ICS in terms of smoothness and multitasking..
If you want great speed, great stability, great camera and great multitasking try vleutmans's GB Rom (Illuminative)
Anyway: The best ROM on ICS is totally depending on your needs.
Personally i like plain and simple roms, which are optimized for performance, so i can play games too without lags.
Some people like themed roms, so the Ray looks like an experia Z for example.
Its so difficult to say what is the "best" ROM as all developers do their utter best to make their ROM "the best" in any way.
Then if all roms are "good" you could check all their threads about "remaining bugs" which could be in your way.
The best thing is to take a few weeks off (holiday) , live on coffee and junkfood and flash as many ROMS as you can to check out for yourself

Michel
my personal favorite is Optimax very stable ICS rom with the combination of looks and performance

Nothing more to say I tried almost every ICS ROM here and everytime I went back to Superleggera, cause that ROM is the best - fastest and lightest + arcatarc (developer of Superleggera) is very kind person
This is y I want a report button on xda app.....
There is nothing as best or stable rom...

The best/stable ROM is something you need to figure out, what is best for me will not be best for you....Thank You.
Hey People,
Simple question - What is your favorite AOSP rom? I am currently running Carbon, but am having some occasional reboot issues (Komodo 1.5 and Volt Script). I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the most stable AOSP is in their opinion. Im looking for the best battery life + Stability, don't really need a ton of customization.
Slimbean Rom is awesome.

What is best for me may not be for you, said that try your ROM´s and choose your personal fav.
This isn't a which is better thread. I'm asking because I tried Slimbean 2 months ago and I really liked it however there was one draw back and its the fact the camera kept crashing, and when it did it refused to start up again until I rebooted the phone. It was happening too often to just let slide.
Just wondering if and what ROM actually has a stable camera , if any. It was only the unstable camera that stopped me moving over to aosp
It's not a best thread,
It's the next best thing,
A question in the general thread!

Probably best to read the various aosp Rom threads and see if you can spot anything, or the slim thread
They're all stable for some and unstable for others so you have to try them all

Use a TouchWiz based ROM and enjoy better battery, camera, signal and gaming performance.
If you don't like how it looks, put some theme on it (JB Domination) and a launcher like Nova.
No matter what AOSP you choose, the the sound on videorecording will be horrible...
Someone confirm or not this...
Use the leaked Google edition camera

I have no Idea what you guys are talking about xD . Despite the noise while capturing in low-light, AOSP camera's have always been great. It's just that they don't have those nice gimmicks TW camera has. I can live without them...
