Title is incorrect for brevity sake, the system format was intentional but ...
I wanted to revert to a CWM backup.
Did a wipe cache/dalvik/data reset followed by format system.
Here comes the accidental part - before doing a restore backup I accidentally rebooted.
Now I am stuck with the Galaxy boot screen, without a ROM and an operating system.
What can I do?
Thanks for the help
press power, volume up and menu buttons, same time(few seconds) and go to recovery again
If backup is on EXT SD card just root and go to recovery .
Otherwise flash stock rom then root .

what to do??
Oh boy, that sounds dangerous. You could wait it out. If it does not continue, hold the power-button for 10 seconds (or just pop the battery) and try getting back into recovery. If that doesn't work then I don't know if a USB Jig might help you.

could you say correct setting for mounts and storage of recovery.
i don't think as you cause i can go to recovery and download mode easily.
when i mount SD card ,restored backup successfully but when reboot it played boot animation then not go homescreen.
another question how to put new rom in my SD card in recovery?
i pulled out battery and repeat restore proccess but nothing happend
Recovery
Mounts and storage
Format Data Cache System only NOT SD CARD.
Follow that with your Nandroid restore .
That fails as above but follow with a stock rom flash instead of restore .

i managed successfully to restore, but not full restore ,in advanced restore i choose one by one and skip restore data.now my phone is good.would like to know what kind of data i missed and what does do restoe data exactly?
Hi everyone,
I've installed ICS domination theme on my SGS2 with litening rom 6.1 installed on it.
After the installation, i've got a boot loop with a strange pop up which is
" Select an action
----------------------------------------------
Select an application for the USB device."
So I've wiped user data from the CWM recovery and I tried to install back my insecure rom (litening rom) with odin and also the original one.
The phone reboot well but i still get the pop up and i can't do anything ...
Is there a way to format and start from scratch or a another solution to remove this pop up ?
PS: i don't mind losing all my data.
PS2: sorry for the picture's bad quality (i took from my webcam ...)

Thanks for the quick reply !
I said i don't mind (or care) about losing data.
I don't have the mount storage and any format system (otherwise i would have already tried it ) on CWM ... I only get :
-reboot system
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
My android system recovery is 3e version

Clean Slate
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Phone will no longer boot as it has no firmware you just wiped the lot .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
jje
First of all root your phone and boot to recovery.
1.Go to "Advanced" and wipe Battery Stats.
2.Go back and go to "Mounts and Storage" and format System,Cache and Data
3.Go back wipe Cache Partition and do a factort reset and reboot your phone.
Your phone wont go past the boot logo so after 1min pull the battery, wait 20sec,put it back in and boot into download mode. Now flash a firmware or your choice and it will be like a factory new phone.
oke first how do do a clean slade ,why backup data I don't want anything, mount what does that mean
can you tellmy step by step how to do this all

If the basics are beyond your understanding i cannot help .
If you format phone via dial *2767*3855#
or *#*#4636#*#*
And format sd card via Windows PC usb mass storage .

1.Clean Slate means wiping everything, back to zero.
2.Do a backup if you want to save something or if something goes wrong you can get your phone back via recovery mode.If you dont want to save anything then dont do a backup.
3.Things like Mounts and Storage you will see in the recovery menu.To get to the recovery menu you need to be rooted first the hold Power+Volume up+Home buttom at the same time untill a menu pops up.
Follow my ealier post and your will be fine.If not PM me.
[Q] Urgently need help: Atrix 4G Stuck on "Dual Core" screen after flashing to CM9
My Atrix 4G was stock Gingerbread 2.3.6 on v4.5.141 - rooted and unlocked. I followed the instructions to flash CM 9- following the instructions. I used ROM Manager to make a backup of my stock 2.3.6 and the ClockWorkMod. Things did not work out after I followed the instructions.
Now my phone says, "Unlocked" at the top left and shows the Motorola logo and the dual core technology. Its not bricked- I can still access the Android Recovery menu. I even tried to return the device to default through the Android Recovery menu but that didn't work (its still stuck). I can't find the recovery files either.
Since I have unlocked 2.3.6 - I cannot flash sbf files through RSD without bricking my device. How can I return to my earlier stock configuration? Will I be able to keep root?
Thanks.
Are you saying you cannot flash your backup? Also have you tried to flash a fruitcake in recovery? Rom Manager saves to internal SD try to restore from internal and see if that fixes issue.

What is a fruitcake? I read that there is a large chance the phone
How could I flash a backup without actually accessing the application on my phone? What program would I use on my pc to gain access to the backup? I've already wiped the data and factory reset my phone through the Android Recovery menu... would this delete all I can't access my internal SD card from the standard Android Recovery menu.

You can flash your backup through the Android Recovery in the "backup & restore" option (assuming your backup was saved there)
but first via android recovery:
clear data/factory reset
clear cache
advanced>wipe dalvik cache
(that's what I like to do to ensure a clean install of the backup[if such thing exists lol])

Where can I access the backup & restore option?
I think you're talking about another menu. I can't access that menu- when I say Android Recovery, I mean the one that is actually Motorola's. To access it, I hold the power button and lower volume key down, and then find the Android system recovery menu. I get the Android guy and an exclamation point in a triangle, and then hold the up and down volume keys simultaneously. The menu shows the following options:
Android system recovery utility
>reboot system now
>apply update from sdcard
>wipe data/factory reset
>wipe cache partition

I think you have the stock recovery. You need a custom recovery to access to that menu, flash custom roms and do back ups. You can use romracers recovery which is commonly used

I think that you flashed a wrong recovery because "normal" ones have
-reboot system
-install zip from sdcard
-wide data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.1.8 (CWM touch recovery)
try to flash another recovery like the newest one (CWM touch recovery)

That's a recovery so access it by holding down the power button and volume down and then on "Android Recovery" push power up. Then you will boot into the recovery, try to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, advanced> wipe dalvik cache then reinstall the CM9 rom. It will probably work this time because you have the right recovery.

Hold the power and volume down button until you see fast boot. Use volume down button to scroll down until recovery shows and then press the volume up button. Then recovery menu should up.

I'm having the same issue I used Tenfar's cwm and now I only receive the dual core screen and when I try to go into recovery I get magic value mismatch. Something tells me the phone is doomed.
