I lost my SGS2, I had recently registered my phone with DIVE, but switched to a new ROM. I also have latitude active on my phone. If someone switched the SIM, will I still be able to track it?
Time to save for a new phone
There's an app called Plan B from the makers of Lookout. If your device is logged into your Google account and connected to the internet you can go to the online Play Store and push it to your phone. It will auto start and help you start locating your phone!
Plan B
Only if GPS is enabled .. and location will be sent to Google account already registered.

Yeah you need to keep an eye on the account because whoever has your phone will also get notifications of you tracking them (and could delete them) if the phone doesn't have a screen lock.
If he a flashes a rom then everything will be lost

Hmm.. authentication error occurs when the wifi password is wrong on your phone. If somebody changed the password on the modem also this can happen, and I don't know about avg but does it have 3g data management? And are you saying that Mobile Data is not working?
And FYI try a factory reset of your phone, it would most likely fix your problem.

Your router could not be working as it should. If what was suggested above doesnt work, reset both modem and router.

Did you try a factory reset of your phone? So your red arrow ain't working huh? It means that you are not receiving any data.. Could be a slight error or something wrong with the receiver? Can you make proper calls?

i had the same problem . i just changed my wifi channel from 6 to 8 just do the same put your channel 5 or 7 or 8 and evrything will be fine if you dont know how to accesse your router just tell me my wifi connecting all the time without any error good luck
The solution that worked for me was to change the security settings on my router, from just WPA2 to WPA2/WPA. I had tried changing channels and frequencies, as well as my device name.
Hello, all. I recently rooted my LG Optimus L9. I had tried the Lelus method, but ran into some problems and never was able to use it to my advantage. Found another root method online last night, performed the steps, and voila! I have root. The thing is is that now, apps like Pirate Bay Browser, Gmail, and Google Play Store won't connect (even with a strong wifi connection), and it keeps stating that it has no network connection. I hit retry button, but it just keeps saying the same thing and nothing changes. I've tried clearing cache on all the affected apps as well as on my Download Manager app to no avail. Any thoughts? I could really use the help. Thanks in advance...

Ok, I did the factory reset, and now I have a whole new set of problems. I had bought my L9 as a TMobile phone, but had gotten my unlock code from them, and switched it to a AT&T 4G GoPhone sim card. Now, I think I've taken it back to TMobile, all my TMobile bloatware is back and enabled, and it won't connect to allow me to sync my Gmail account or anything else. Will I have to unlock it again to fix my problem do u think?

All of a sudden can't connect to ANY wifi. Sees them, says saved, but keeps trying but won't get past "saved." You can see the page of wifi options kind of blink like it's trying but nothing.
Have tried "forget", rebooting to safe mode, airplane mode, reboot after reboot, but the wifi indicator stays clear and says disconnected.
Hardware failure? Any ideas?

My next step would be to clear cache partition, then factory reset if that does not work.
How do you clear the cache partition?
Power down, then hold the power and volume down button simultaneously until the device boots. You'll arrive at a screen with an Android laying on it's back with it's belly open. Press the power and volume up simultaneously to display the recovery menu. Choose Wipe cache partition and respond Yes to the prompt.
cant connect to wifi
hello i have the exactl same problem after the nougat update suddenly my nexus 9 cant connect to wifi however it can connect to other wifi networks and through my phone hotspot i have tried a factory reset without any luck please any suggestion ?
Hi, I have exactly the same problem after the upgrade to Android N, arrived by OTA
I have done everything, starting from the ROOT with Nexus ToolRoot from the PC, but any luck!
My dubt is that my tablet was rooted already and, like that, I couldn't upgrade It by OTA to the 6.1. It opened the Recovery page and stop.
With Android N it works, but I have this problem with the WiFi now.
My second dubt is that I can go in recovery only using NexusToolRoot, but if I try from the table it Shows me the robot and "No Command FounD"
Some can help us?

I hate to bring up an old thread but I just bought a Nexus 9 and it ran great. I installed an app that it must not have liked and it required me to do a factory reset. Now (during setup) it wont join my existing router. There is no skip button (which is completely ridiculous), but it does 'save' my password, and occasionally it says 'bad authentication'. I've tried rebooting routers, different routers, hot spots, clearing cache, etc. I've even tried various network settings within my router. Again, no luck. I've even successfully reflashed the OS using ADB sideload.
Current vers. is Nexus 9 32GB, Wi-Fi, 7.1.1 (N9F27M, Oct 2017).
Here's the kicker... once in a 'blue moon' it will connect to my router for a very brief moment. Long enough for it to attempt to contact Google servers. It then loses connection, as if it were shutting down it's own Wi-Fi connection internally. Sadly, a connection point is required to continue with setup which, again, is completely ridiculous...
I'm familiar with ADB and Fastboot. I've even tried Wugfresh's software with no luck. Is there any way of unlocking the tablet so I can try out different things? I'd be great if I could unlock the darn thing without having to go through the menus in the OS, but I have no access to them.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience something this strange? How did you fix it?

You can skip the whole setup process and don't need WiFi. At least I know you can with the latest factory image.

Thanks for the reply. Today, the tablets WiFi connected long enough to register it to my Google account so I could use it. I enabled developer tools in the 'settings' section and I also enabled 'OEM unlocking (allow the bootloader to be unlocked)' in the dev options.
I was extremely happy as it seemed to stay connected for quite some time. Then before you know it, the Wi-Fi shut down again and I get authentication error messages. Do you have a link for the latest factory image? I last flash was with the full OTA Image I found on Googles site (N9F27M, Oct 2017).
Should I flash again with a factory image instead because The OTA image doesn't give any type of 'skip Wi-Fi' button.
Thanks again!

Just Google Nexus factory image. That has all the images for all the Nexus devices. Just make sure you get the one for the n9. They're ones for WiFi only and ones for lte devices. So get the one for your device.

Good to know. If I get locked out again, I'll give it a try.
Just to add to the description of the problem, the WiFi light doesn't come on at all. Only once in a while it does and that's when I get connection (naturally). I also looked at the WiFi menu and this is the error I see under my connection:
Home_Connection
Saved [(1)
{ec:08:6b:blah:blah:blah:60=2412,-62};]
Network_Selection_Disabled_Association_Rejection =4
Network_Selection_Disabled_Authentication_Failure=4
Anymore suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks again guys. Really appreciate it.
I have the same issue as well.
I have the same issue. Tried two custom ROMs - 6.0.1 and 7.1.1 Android versions - then went back to the stock OTA version but still I'm having issues with the WiFi. Every so often it will allow me to briefly connect but it won't stay on for long. I'm using a Nexus 9 WiFi device. I've also noticed that the settings app doesn't respond all that well basically - including the normal power off/ restart features. I have to hard reset it by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.
I tried to changed APN manually to rogers but still data does not work, only call and text works. Is there a solution to this? I believe i got Pro 2 (cn with global rom installed)
I had the same issue, below is the APN setting on Rogers website, I've found that if you make the following changes, it will connect to 4G data (until you restart your device)APN Type: replace "internet + mms" with "*"
MVNO: ROGERS
MVNO type: SPN
This will get you connected.
However, I ran into another problem after configuring the network this way. After restarting the device, the phone can no longer detect the SIM card, and has an error message prompting restart).
This is my problem after restarting:
Comparing with other phones, the auto detected APN Type is typically "default", but entering default will cause the connection issue right away. The "*" will allow you to run until device reboot.
I too would like help on how to resolve this. Seems more software than hardware problem since it only fails after boot.

@GSKC
I just tried your method looks like it works and as you said it doesn't work after reboot. However when I did "Network setting reset," I was able to connect to 4g again (but resets wifi passwords too). Hopefully there's a solution...
I noticed that this problem only happens if there is a SAVED wifi network WHEN the device BOOT up.
I did a factory reset, then enter the APN manually. I was able to connect to stable network.
I did a system restart, no issue. The phone reconnects to the network automatically after booting.
I connect to a wifi network. The phone still works fine.
I restart the device again, the problem comes back.
If I take out the SIM and only use the Wifi, the phone is also okay.
The only time when it doesn't work is when I have both, which is the normal use case.
Something is happening in the firmware between the wifi and the SIM during the boot sequence.
This problem exists on my Lenovo L70081, Legion Phone Duel 2 Pro, running OS 12.5.188 ST, updated using Rescue and Smart Assistant v5.8.0.25
Any help would be appreciated.

Im on the same OS version 12.5.188ST, my phone connected to data absolutely fine with no problems but after every few hours stop making or receiving calls. I did the following and its fine for some time now but I'm not sure whether this will work with every phone but no harm in trying :
settings.....cellular network and sim.....5G mode. By default (at least in my phone) it is on NSA, I first switched to NSA+SA but to no avail, than I switched to SA and vola problem solved, all incoming outgoing calls working bang on but I think now my phone doesn't go on 5g which is still not good but at least making calls as normal. Now, as I said, this procedure might not work for everyone but try it, cheers.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately setting the 5G setting didn’t help. I also tried disabling 5G but I still have the issue.
Was your OS able to read the APN from your SIM or did you have to enter the APN manually also?

There's currently two ROM available on Rescue and Smart Assistant:
L70081_ROW_SECURE_USER_Q00017.0_R_ROW_12.5.188_ST_210819_qpst
L70081_EE_SECURE_USER_Q00017.0_R_ROW_12.5.137_ST_210710_sec_qpst
What's the difference between ROW and EE rom?
Which would work best in Canada and US?
is ROW only updated in Asia and Pacific?
i sort of had this same problem with Tmobile. it would only connect to 3g . if i connected to the 4g or 5g network i lost everything . i was able to fix it using my ROOTED phone and an app in the playstore called network guru. I used that to turn off majority of the network bands and only left the ones listed for the phone. My service was immediately fixed and havent had any trouble since

I know how ya feel, I pestered TMobile for 2 weeks and they were no help. They kept trying to push me off to Lenovo who was absolutely no help at all. Id go thru their website which connects you to Motorola. Then they would tell me they don't support the phone because it's Lenovo and give me a link to follow. Id follow that link which led me right back to Motorola lmfao.
After 4-5 times of going thru that nonsense I finally got someone who knew what they were doing. They told me because this phone was never released in the US I need to go thru their European server for assistance. Screw that, I did some more research and got the idea of trying this from some ancient post I found on xda lol.
It's actually very easy as long as your phone is rooted. download the app, click the 3 dots and go into force control. Then adjust the carrier bands so only the ones supported by the phone are selected. Then reboot your phone and it should kick over to a working signal . If not ya might have to monkey around in the service menu using the dial code *#*#4636#*#*
Here's a few screenshots to give ya an idea and a link to a website with all the bands listed. https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/lenovo-legion-2-pro
